Parent Layouts
I am trying to use parent layouts so that I can reuse my design for all characters for example
I have dragged my design into the parents area
I have set up Characters for the spread to copy this to the other character pages.
Problem
I cant edit the layout spread to add the text I want.
This now works as I expected it to.

Basic Layout
The pink box is the text safe area so I need to make sure that all of my text is within this box. the images etc. can go outside but i will need to make sure that key elements are also inside the safe zone.

This breakdown is really helpful to get the names of the elements I will need to make my campaign guide.
I like the drastic font size differences and the use of black and white on this one.

Map Development
I wanted to use the map I generated to then add my own designs and illustrations to it
I have added it into Photoshop then used it as an outline to trace.
I then scanned in some hand drawings for the map elements based of off the orinigal image and added them into photoshop to use
For the mountain I have added a few of them together and painted it using a more water colour style to match the images from the D and D books.
I will repeat this for the other elements in the map. For the trees i will instead use a custom brush.
Custom Brush
Select the area you want to make a brush
EDIT > DEFINE BRUSH PRESET > name it and now you have your brush.
I can now paint the trees where i need them.
For some of the items I have had to tidy up the lines and add new details
Setting the lightness to black really helps the lines.

Book ideas for my TTRPG pt.3
In the Fallout RPG Book produced by Bethesda all of the books chapter pages have artwork that is purely coming from drawn instances of the Fallout Video Games
At the top right and left of the pages a dropdown bar that tells the reader where they are within the book, another neat feature is that the book also features the original Vault Boy (The funny looking man with the yellow hair and the vault jumpsuit) showcasing from the game the artworks for the different S.P.E.C.I.A.L Attributes (Strength,Perception,Endurance,Charisma,Intelligence,Agility,Luck)

Book Ideas for my TTRPG pt.2
In the Pathfinder 2nd Edition guidebook there is a side bar telling the reader what part of the book/chapter they are in
Pathfinder 2nd Edition also features larger spell tables
This is one of the intro pages to Call of Cthulhu which is based off of The Cthulhu Mythos written by H.P.Lovecraft, an author who wrote about eldritch gods such as yog-sothoth, Azathoth, cthulhu and Nyartholotep
Call of Cthulhu also features these small illustrations portrayed as stamps, this one is titled: Harvey speeds towards the monster.

Book ideas for my TTRPG
I am having a look at this D&D guide book. I am picking out some of the key elements that make this sort of book appealing.
Contents page - this is something that is on all d and d books due to the amount of information inside of them.
I think that this is something that I will add to mine for each section.
These hand written notes are interesting and give me ideas to add more character to the pages, maybe notes from the villains / heroes?
Character Pages
What data is on this page?- The information on this page in particular is showcasing the Personal Totems and Tattoos the player could have if they so choose
This book has symbols for the player roles, this one for example shows the Barbarian Class.
Artwork that blends into the pages - water colour effect works well here, it also helps give the slight illusion of a ripped page.

Karkarius Backstory
Karkarius grew up to be a greedy and power-hungry man who later became a lich so he could live essentially forever and gain more power, due to his experiments with lost forbidden magic it severely altered his appearance, as such he used this to his advantage and claimed that his political enemies had afflicted an “Unbreakable Curse”.
As he gave a speech ironically promoting world peace a golden light flowed from his body…Karkarius’ fate had been decided in his 78th year of life

Why I used Inkarnate to make my world map
Inkarnate is a fantasy map making tool that is free for anyone to use, it also has many useful tools that can be used on several different layers, the tools I like are the paint tool which is used for landscapes and the tree tool which lets me place down trees that have various templates.
Inkarnate also has a specific style that i also happen to like as it fits with the medieval part i wanted to do, as such things like The Ork Village and the mountain came out spectacularly.
Inkarnate - Create Fantasy Maps Online This link will take you to there front page in which you can create an account and start making!
