Self Diagnosis

So apparently it’s time for another self dx info post because people are gross

INFO:

basics

self diagnosis isn’t looking at one post and going “hey thats me, im autistic”

self diagnosis includes research and introspection

self diagnosis of multiple disorders is reasonable - comorbidity is common (see: autism and ADHD, ADHD and SPD, many personality disorders with each other, though more than one is rarely diagnosed due to overlapping traits)

self diagnosis doesn’t take away resources from anyone

the only people who don’t take a disorder seriously “because of” self diagnosis don’t take it seriously anyway

the DSM is available online

it doesn’t matter if they’re wrong - if they’re self diagnosing it’s because they had a problem and the resources and coping mechanisms within ____ community helped them. 

re: doctors

many doctors refuse to diagnose

a lot of these reasons are racism and sexism

some traits/symptoms are internal and are therefore not seen by doctors

doctors diagnose based on behavior. people self-dx based on.. behavior.

re: racism, classism, sexism

many poc (especially black people) are diagnosed with “being {race}”

many people who are perceived as girls won’t be diagnosed because {sexist reason such as ‘girls cant get autism’ - yes thats a real reason people have been denied diagnosis}

going to a professional is expensive. it doesn’t matter if you were “obviously _____” or not - it’s expensive.

Hey there hun 💜💙 , I read somewhere that having Chiron in the the 5th in extreme cases could mean that said person was groomed as a child !!! Do you think having Chiron (5th house ) opposite mars (11th house) at orb 3° could be an indicator of being groomed as a child or in general ????

Hello! First off, I'm sorry if you had to experience something awful like that. But to answer your question, hmmm I think it may be, especially if any of the planets have aspects to other objects in the 12th or 8th house (which represent the subconscious, and well, trauma). The 5th House also deals with sexuality, but also inner child themes, so I can definitely see the connection.

If you believe you were groomed as a child, you should seek support from people you can trust. I know I'm just a stranger with a blog, but trauma is no joke and there will always be things that can help you.

tbh- yeah. You don't need to forgive anyone for how they genuinely hurt you. Forgiveness doesn't mean that they did nothing wrong, it doesn't take the pain away, it doesn't make things automatically better. I think forgiveness kind of means, understanding your own hurt and the person, healing, moving on from it and having an understanding of the person who caused the hurting. But it is not required. It should never be bc it just invalidates the person's feelings and if they don't truly mean it and if they don't truly forgive then it does more bad than good for them. And that's something no one deserves.

You don't have to forgive. Rage is okay, rage is meant to protect you, rage is good. But healing yourself, and moving on, however slow, taking your time and giving yourself the love you need, is a must. I used to think of this as a must, as something moral rather than something self-serving. But it isn't, and it shouldn't be.

I thought Perse was exiled temporarily too- was she not? And tbh yea same I think Zeus' punishment for them was pretty fair. Perse doesn't have to suffer the same pain those innocent people felt, and she can help the rest of the mortals thru community service, maybe even spend a literal less than 1% of Demeter's wealth to get the souls across the river like she tried doing in that other ep

I don’t wanna be THAT guy, but i think Zeus’ verdict is (mostly) fair.

Demeter being TEMPORARILY disposed of her divine powers and living among humans sounds like a modern equivalent to home arrest.

Same for Persephone being exiled to the mortal realm. Also, fullfilling her mother’s functions as goddess of harvest would be technically considered comunity service, a penitence she was ok with in the first place.

Turning Minthe back to her normal state sounds pretty reasonable, unrelated to the case, yes, but can be considered a way to pay a debt, like a fee or something.

Now, the part where she is forbidden to contact the other gods…THAT’s cruel, specially knowing that what Persephone wants most is having more friends, and lover her new intimacy with Hades. If it wasn’t for Apollo, there wouldn’t be any need for that, but on the bright side, Zeus did something good: keeping Apollo away from our pink goddess. 

Also, he shows some regret for keeping Pese and Hades appart… hopefully he will find a way to bend the rules so they can see eachother, lets not forget in some versions he was the one who suggested Hades to abduct Persephone.
