A curt, polite nod confirms Kichi's identity, though he admittedly has to bite back a sarcastic question about who else he could possibly be. Best to keep that to himself during first impressions.

"Ah, yes, hello. Nice to meet you." His words are careful, deliberately spoken, voice slightly gravelly and accented. He doesn't speak unovan out loud all that often, and it admittedly still feels a bit strange to him. Better than having to grapple with Kalosian, though.

"Thank you for inviting me over. You have a nice home," he hums, eyes idly scanning across his environment as he steps inside.

"I, ah, I did promise you a drink, yes?" Down to business, apparently. He gently pats the satchel he has tucked under one arm, and the contents inside gently clink together. "I get why you don't drink often. It took me hours to find any good whisky in the area. Remind me to send you something of much better quality once I'm back home."

A pause, then he continues; "I'd also love to take a look at that murkrow you've told me about, if you still have her in your care."

Kichijiro wasn't someone who met up with others for the hell of it too often. Usually it was for business or academia, but not to relax. Even trips to the bar or restaurants with others often had an underlying purpose, some sort of reason beyond just socialization.

Perhaps that's why he found himself feeling admittedly nervous as he walked down the street, a light drizzle dampening his clothing and leaving beads of water on his phone screen. There were several times in the process of getting ready to leave and flying here on pidgeot's back in which he considered just canceling for one reason or another.

But, hell. Socialization is good for someone, right? And he didn't get too much of it, especially one-on-one, so... might as well at least put up with it, at least for long enough to be polite.

Kichi glanced between the address texted to him and the address on the home he came to a stop in front of, and verified the match. He swallowed the lump in his throat, took a deep breath, and stepped onto the stone pathway that led to the front door.

As he stood awkwardly on the porch after ringing the doorbell, he couldn't help but think that he should've had another smoke before approaching the door. As he spotted the vague shapes of movement through the covered door window, he glanced down at himself and quickly brushed his jacket off to be sure there weren't any loose pidgeot feathers sticking to him.

BACKGROUND ; It's hard to say whether or not someone can be blamed for falling into a life of crime when they're dealt an unfair hand. Kichijiro, however, is long past worrying about whether things could be different, or if he could've made other choices, or if he's a good or bad person.

Stressing over what could be is unimportant; he has enough on his plate as is. Alongside planning high-stakes heists, managing illegal scientific experiments, and committing roadside robbery, he's also busy with studying under local professors in an attempt to become one himself. With a lifelong interest in ornithology and 30 years of pokemon training under his belt, it seemed like a natural way of escaping his existing career.

Sure, he's burning the candle from both ends, living two lives, and lying to almost everyone he knows about one thing or another, but just because most people would crash and burn under these circumstances doesn't mean he will, right?
