“Bro that movie was so stupid,” your friend Jeongin complained as he slumped down further into the blanket you two were sharing. The original movie you’d wanted to see had quickly finished. However, instead of stopping at only one, Jeongin had agreed to your request to turn it into a movie marathon night. So, you’d chosen one of your favorites except he wasn’t a huge fan of it. However, the hangout was much needed, to say the least. It was obvious that Jeongin had his own things going on, even if he never showed it. You on the other hand, had every problem in the world it felt like. But there was one particular one that frustrated you the most…

Sexual desire.

Ever since that night you gave into Seungmin, you felt like going insane every week. You’d never been too interested in engaging in sexual activity before, ever since an… incident in high school. But ever since the night with your now shitty ex, it was like a switch turned on in your brain. And a movie night with one of your best friends seemed like a perfect distraction. Despite these racing thoughts, you turned your attention back to the conversation.

You scoffed, “It is not!” you said as you playfully smacked him on the shoulder. He clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes, a smile etching on his face. “See, you secretly liked it, you’re smiling.” Your face neared his only briefly, but he still swore he could feel his heart thumping louder in his chest. So much to the point he was worried you would hear. Jeongin was never one to quickly recognize his emotions. Sure he had a relationship or two in the past, and he had his own flings here and there but nothing ever felt too serious. Nor was any feeling as strong as this.

All he could do was avoid eye contact and shake his head, still unable to fight the smile creeping on his face. “Whatever.” A few more moments of comfortable silence followed as the credits finished rolling. “Sooo what now?” He asked as you threw the covers off of you guys to take the empty bowl to the kitchen. You hummed, then spoke up. “We can find another one to watch.” Your voice rang out as he sat up to face you from over the couch. Biting your lip, knowing damn well this was going to be the fourth movie. “Fine, but i’m choosing it.” He said sharply but teasingly. You smiled and rolled your eyes, finishing rinsing the bowl and making your way back over the to the couch. The night you spent with Jeongin, felt so much different than any other time. You guys had hung out alone countless times, but the vibe felt so much… different. Except, you couldn’t quite put your finger on it.

On the other hand, Jeongin was having his own internal battle. The male’s thoughts circling back to the same conflict every 10 minutes. Did he really feel something for you? He didn’t know why he felt like this, and the things Han had said couldn’t help but creep into his head as you sat back down next to him. He swallowed thickly as the urges to make some type of move grew stronger. Any form of physical touch with you was something he longed for. Despite all this, he still couldn’t recognize that it was attraction at the very least.

The two of you scrolled through the recommended list, settling on some dumb movie for the sole purpose of making fun of it. Settling into the couch, somehow finding yourself getting more comfortable than before as he placed the blankets back on you both. The movie continued, Jeongin cracking dumb jokes throughout as you threw your head back and laughed. Unknowingly, your bodies were growing closer to each other, closing the gap in between. Still not realizing, you randomly spoke up. “Are you hungry? Kind of thinking about making something..” You stated, trailing off in thought. His eyes never tore away from the screen, “Hmm.. nah, I think i’m comfortable here.” It wasn’t until he said those words, and you felt his body move even closer that you suddenly became aware of the heat rising to your cheeks. What the hell was this?? Was this on purpose? Your breath got caught in your throat as your fingers trembled. Thoughts raced through your mind, this was so out of character for him. Except, even with all these questions, it didn’t stop you from easing into his body. Your once tensed muscles relaxed, and dare you say even inching slightly closer to him as if that was even possible.

Jeongin, sensing no uncomfortable feelings from you, decided to take it a step further. His hand moved over from his thigh to your own. Your breath hitched as you did your best to keep your gaze focused on the tv. But that’s when it hit you,

the rush straight to your core.

These weren’t feelings, it was the built up sexual frustration that had been boiling inside you for at least a month now. This had to have been the worst time for your libido to spike up. There was no way you were getting turned on by your best friend, right?!

You muttered something, except it wasn’t supposed to be muttered. Jeongin smirked, looking over at you. “What was that now?” Reflexes sent your head turning at light night speed, catching eye contact immediately. “I..,” you managed to stutter out, his eyebrow raising as his eyes trailed down to your lips. Yours did the same before you snapped back to your senses, if only for a few brief seconds. “We can’t do this Jeongin.” You shook your head and avoided eye contact. What the hell had gotten into you?

He on the other hand, didn’t seem to be fazed at all. Not by this situation, your reaction, nothing.

“Who says?” He tilted his head, catching your attention with ease once again. You two leaned in, willingly or not, but you couldn’t help but pause only inches away. “This is..” You trailed off, god was he hot. You could feel his hand inching slowly up your thigh. Despite this, you did your best to stick to your ground. “I just.. I just got out of that relationship and-“

“And you want help forgetting that, right?” Jeongin couldn’t believe he had said that, regret flowing through his veins immediately. His hand retracted and he squinted his eyes shut, recognizing it was a shitty move. “Fuck, sorry I shouldn’t have-“

“No.. you’re right.” You cut him off mid sentence. His eyes opened to meet yours again. And all of the sudden, this didn’t seem too bad anymore. He shook his head and began to try and stand up “I still crossed the line with that statement, you should go. I’ll call someone to-“

He was interrupted mid sentence by you yanking him back down to the couch before he could begin to stand up. Your eyes flickered back and forth between his. “As much as I hate it, you’re right.” You swallowed thickly and continued before he could get a word in. “There’s nothing wrong with a little fun right? Nothing serious.” With that statement, something snapped in him. His hand was soon enough back on your thigh, his lips finding his way to your own before you could process what was going on. He tilted his head, deepening the kiss as the heat soon came rushing back to your core.

His grip tightened on your thigh, your hands running up his chest to rest gently on his neck. The male’s tongue swiped over your bottom lip and you pushed yourself closer to his body. It was messy, and probably not a good idea. But neither of you could find it in you to care in the moment, it satisfied something for both of you and that’s all that seemed to matter right now. Your eyes opened briefly to meet his before you dove back in. Jeongin’s hand traveled to your back, pulling you half way on top of him.

As the night came to an end, you would soon realize that it would affect your friendship dynamic greatly, and maybe even the entire group…

You sat anxiously at the cafe table, the 9’o clock slowly but surely approaching. Your anxiousness wasn’t because of Hyunjin, I mean maybe a little bit, but there was definitely something more to what you were feeling.

The past few weeks had been rough for you, to say the absolute least. You seemed to be in arguments left and right. One got resolved, you turn around and somehow you caught yourself in the midst of another. And your mind couldn’t help but drift back to Seungmin. Why the hell did he do what he did? You genuinely thought he loved you, yet here he was taking borderline explicit photos of you behind your back. Every-time the thought crossed your mind, you felt a pit of anxiety settle in your heart. What was his motive with those? Did he even delete them after you sent the message about breaking up? The messages he didn’t even respond to. Like he just accepted it, and came to peace with the fact you were walking out of his life. Questioning your worth was something you seemed to be good at, and it kept you on your toes. You couldn’t help but wonder about what else he may have done that you didn’t know about. It was exhausting, truly. Your thoughts always circling back to that, and to one of the worst times of your life.

Suddenly, out of the corner of your eye, you see a figure across from you hesitantly sit down. Snapping you out of your thoughts, you looked up to find none other than Hwang Hyunjin. “Hey.” You muttered out, only to receive no response or reaction what so ever. You sat up, taking a deep breath in as you watched him take out his books for the project you knew you were both dreading. It was easy to sense frustration, it was practically radiating off of him. He didn’t slam his stuff down, but he wasn’t gentle with it either. The textbooks emitting a loud sound as they came into contact with the table. For a few moments, you couldn’t help it observe his actions. Your eyes flickering from his books, to his eyes, back to his stuff and so on. Was this frustration because of you..?

Regardless, you spoke up, your voice shrinking. “Uhm, you can still ask to switch partners… if you want.” You avoided eye contact. You’d come to learn over time that when Hyunjin was angry, it was an entirely different ballgame. One in fact you didn’t want to play. His movements came to a hault. “What?” His tone was sharp, and you couldn’t help but let your eyes flicker up to meet his. You swallowed, “I mean, if you don’t wanna do the project with me then I und-“

“I don’t really care who i’m paired with, i just wanna get it done.” He snapped and exhaled, you nodded. “Right, sorry.” With this you sat up, putting away your other subjects as you prepared to try and get at least something done. The silence was critical, for a few moments.

“You know that really pisses me off right.” You paused and looked up at him. Confusion laced your face, “What does?”

“Apologizing when you have nothing to be sorry for.” His tone wasn’t gentle, but his words somewhat were? Your lips pursed as you made eye contact once again. You weren’t sure how to respond, he says this yet you somehow find yourself needing to apologize. Your eyes averted themselves down as he finished getting out the materials.
