Also thinking about it, the fact that klaus treated his FIRST SUCCESSFUL HYBRID like just a lackey or something makes NO sense. He literally says to rebekah that the point of the hybrids as so he wouldn’t be alone. He might still treat the rest like a band of minions but klaus is nothing but sentimental and big on symbolism and shit. Tyler WOULD be special to him. He WOULD try and have a real friendship with him, bond and shit like he did with stefan in the 20s. Now how well that would go IN THE LONG RUN is another thing entirely. But tyler would ABSOLUTELY get preferential treatment and more respect than the rest for at least a honeymoon period.
