“If that is what’s going to get us on TMZ, I don’t know if that makes us the most boring people on Earth or the funniest,” Marley giggled, extremely amused at the thought of a headline like that plastered on a gossip site. At least if that was all she had to worry about, maybe she’d make it just fine in this business after all. Finn admitting to reading their scenes before anything else made her heart skip a beat, and she was unable to stop herself from grinning. She ducked her head a little, so the light brown strands of her hair could hide some of what she assumed was a goofy grin on her face. “I do that too,” she admitted back, her cheeks even more flustered than it was a minute ago.
Following Finn’s reading patterns, Marley flipped through the script, focusing on the scenes they had together. She noticed there wasn’t as many one-on-one scenes like she expected it to be, and though she loved acting with everyone else, it was hard not to feel just slightly disappointed. When Finn’s words caught her ear, her eyebrows perked up, before furrowing down again in confusion. Was she a slow reader, or was Finn super-speeding this? “Wait, what?” Marley flipped through the script frantically, trying to find the scene he was holding up in front of her. And there it was in all its glory. “Oh, wow,” she uttered, unable to say anything else for a few seconds. “That’s, uh, exciting.” A nervous giggle came out of her mouth, and she suddenly felt way too shy to even make eye contact with Finn. She would be lying if she said that she hadn’t been waiting for this, but something about it being right in front of her knowing it was going to happen soon made her more anxious than she’d like to admit. “I’ve never done a scene like this before, but I like how it’s written and we have a great director, so this is probably going to be fine. Right?’”
"Oh, definitely the funniest. Nobody wants to hear the sad story about the Brangelina divorce, they want to hear people living life to the fullest." Finn said with a chuckle sticking his tongue out a little. Marley was smiling, and the way she looked, hair partly over her face. Beautiful grin on her face, it made his heart beat. FAST. And when she admitted that she did it too. That was it for him. It felt like his heart was about to explode from happiness. "Cool." he simply said with a nod and a big grin on his face. There was nothing more to say about it. They obviously both, really enjoyed working and being together.
"Yeah." he said letting out a nervous chuckle. The silence enveloping them, he had a hard time reading Marley's face for a few seconds. Wondering what was going on in her head right now, cause he knew what was going through his. Excitement, nervousness so bad he could puke, butterflies, anxiety, the whole shebang. So when Marley said it was exciting he was relieved, she had to be nervous too, but he was glad the first words out of her mouth were positive. "Oh yeah, definitely and you know..." he said and sat down beside her and looked into her eyes. "I'm going to do everything in my power to make you feel comfortable you know? And you just, let me know what you need from me. Because you being comfortable is my utmost concern, I want you to have as good of a time as you can." he said sincerely. He didn't want Marley to worry, #MeToo had helped the industry of course, but that was mostly before he entered it. But it was ignorant to think that women being unfairly treated and harassed on sets didn't still happen. And Finn didn't want Marley to worry about anything like that.

Marley wasn’t quite sure why she thought that it would be easier to be around Finn the more they spent time together, but any optimistic thought she ever had about that couldn’t have been more wrong. The contradicting emotions of pain for not getting to act on her feelings and joy of experiencing the amazing human that was Finn fought inside her every day–heck, every minute. It was bliss and torture all at once. If the importance of professionalism wasn’t so critical, she wouldn’t have held back, even if she wasn’t one to make the first move in any other setting. She wouldn’t even care at this point.
But if she couldn’t risk being with him romantically, their growing friendship gave her solace. The joy she felt when being with him was euphoric, and the best part was that she was comfortable being 100% herself. Well, maybe not 100% herself because her full self would kiss him every chance she got.
“But it’s so easy and so good,” Marley covered her mouth as she spoke because it was still full. “The salad bars on set are incredible, but they keep me full for about an hour. And the second I get hungry again, this is what I want.” She grinned as she held up her half-eaten sandwich, displaying it like she was in some sort of grilled cheese commercial. Hearing the doorbell ring, she leaned forward to get a better look of who was behind the door. She waved back with a big smile once she saw it was Phil, clapping excitedly at the sight of the script. “He’s great at his job though,” she said, taking the script out of Finn’s hand. “I hope there’s a giant cliffhanger.” She laughed a little at her own remark before opening up the script, revealing the episode title. “If our characters don’t get some grand romantic scene in here somewhere, I’m gonna be sad.”
She just did something with him. It was like Marley had this energy that just radiated out and completely captivated him, wrapping around him and capturing him. And it was the best feeling in the world. When he was alone, he would worry about everything, think about his feelings for her for hours on end. And when they were together... those thoughts were still their but, that energy she radiated. It calmed him and he was just in awe of her and wanted to appreciate every little second he had with her.
"You say that, but I don't think everyone on the set would be pleased if we went into a grilled cheese coma... Would make a heck of a story on TMZ though." he said with a chuckle as he sat down next to her and opened his script. He smiled warmly at her statement and he his heart beating a tad quicker. "You know when I get the script, the first thing I do is just go through all the pages and read our scenes first." he said looking down at his script, a little embarrassed he had just admitted that. He started turning the pages, and the more he turned, the more disappointed he was. They were in scenes together, but with the rest of the cast, they clearly wanted to build up the tension between their characters. Until he stumbled upon it. "Grand romantic gesture, or raunchy PG-13 sex scene?" he said holding up the script page and letting out a nervous chuckle, that died out quickly.

the one with the sex scene ➝ hudrose
To say that the last few weeks had been stressful as all hell, would be a grave understatement. But it had also been really good, Finn and Marley had been spending more time together, both on set and off. Their characters were beating around the bush of getting together and talking about their kiss. Which is also what he and Marley was doing. He had come to the conclusion that his feelings for her weren't unfounded. There was something between them, but they weren't talking about it. So why was he not confronting her about it? Well there were many different reasons. Dating your co-workers can be complicated, and while it isn't uncommon amongst actors and actors that work on a show together. The pressure can become real high.
Finn was sure if the show was successful, no one would mind. It'd just be free press for the studio. But if he was going to do anything with Marley, he didn't want that spotlight on him. So they'd have to keep it secret, and that's IF they even did anything with this insane chemistry between them and IF they decided to date, after testing out the waters. This was what had been going through Finn's mind the last few weeks.
But currently his brain was taking a break from thinking about all of this stuff as he and Marley were currently hanging out at his place. "You know, when I said that I could make grilled cheese, I didn't expect us to eat it this often." he said with a grin to Marley before he took a bite. But before he could enjoy more the doorbell rung and Finn put down his plate with his grilled cheese, as he went to the door. It was Phil, the guy who delivered their scripts. "Hey Phil, hey do you also have Marley's script?" Finn said as he moved out of the way so he could see Marley sitting on the couch, Phil waved at her and gave her script to Finn. "Sure thing." he said with a polite nod as he left. "That guy doesn't talk a lot" Finn said as he closed the door and handed Marley the packet with her script. "Last episode. This is going to be something."

“Yeah,” Marley echoed, her voice gradually fading along with his as she stood there semi-awkwardly, unsure of what to say or do next. It was almost as if she felt the need to laugh because something about this was funny, but she couldn’t put her finger on what it was. Maybe she was still nervous, although she had no reason to be. That was, except for the fact that being around Finn made her extremely giddy and anxious in the best way possible. When he started speaking again, she snapped out of her thoughts, raising her eyebrows at him as a sign of being alert. “Oh, yeah! See you around,” she said once she registered what he was saying. Gosh, she always got so deep in her thoughts whenever she was thinking about him. Just barely raising her hand to wave goodbye, she sees Finn turning back around, proposing a question she never thought he’d ask. “I-I would love that,” Marley cleared her throat before continuing. “Yeah, that sounds great. Maybe we could grab some coffee? Or hot chocolate, I’m more of that kind of girl.”
Finn smiled brightly at her "A girl after my own hear. I'm more of a hot chocolate guy myself. I remember the first time I had coffee i actually spit it out back into the cup. Wasn't ready for that adult beverage yet." he said with a laugh. "Okay. I'll see you then." he said with a little nod as he walked away. He could feel the butterflies in his stomach, and he was uncertain if he could stay away from Marley. Because he was falling hard.

Marley nodded firmly with a tight smile, trying to mask the fact that she was feeling overwhelmed and nervous about what had just happened, although using only two words to describe how she felt wasn’t enough at all. At least Finn thought it went well, which was all that mattered. Well, the director’s opinion obviously mattered, too. As the crew began setting up for the next scene, she turned to Finn, huffing out a breath to relieve some of the tension in her body. She couldn’t help but blush when he complimented her kissing, and did she detect a little… shyness in him? “Oh wow, you really think so? I thought you were a good kisser too,” she beamed, trying her best to contain her excitement. She had to be professional, right? “Good thing we’re both good kissers then, because I think we’ll be doing much of that from here. On screen, obviously.” Although, she wouldn’t mind that happening off screen…
Finn was biting his lip, she was smiling, and she looked beautiful as all hell. It took everything to try to control himself and everything he was feeling. And, was she blushing? Well, to be fair, who wouldn't blush a little after... that. "Oh yeah, definitely. Really... really good..." he trailed off. In a way, it was everything he wanted it to be, but the part that sucked was that it was over. And how long would it be until next time. He almost choked on his own spit when she said they would be doing much more of that. When she clarified he nodded and let out a little chuckle. Which was partly nervous, but he didn't know if she noticed that. "Right, lots and lots of on screen kissing." he said with a smile. He wondered what it would be like to kiss her off screen, he wouldn't mind that. Though he figured if they were kissing off screen, there would happen a lot more than just kissing. And that was way too much for his brain to be thinking about so he had to return to reality.. "So.. I guess, I'll see you then." he said with a nod. And he almost walked away before he decided "Hey, do you want to hang out this weekend? Get to know each other even more?"

Marley’s heart was positively beating 100 beats per second, the heat from her face radiating so intensely she was sure Finn was getting toasty just from standing in front of her. When they pulled away from the kiss, she felt sad it was over, almost uncomfortable that she was being broken out of the little bubble that was just the two of them. The daunting realization that she was indeed not alone with Finn and instead with a whole camera and production crew surrounding them in made-up set came when she finally heard the director’s voice. It took her a few seconds longer than usual to figure out if the scene was over or not, as if the kiss had put a thick, grey fog in front of her perception of anything remotely real.
She wondered if Finn felt the same as she did. In a way, it didn’t make sense for her that he wouldn’t - a kiss like that could never be that one-sided, but there was also a big chance he just put in the extra gear for the sake of acting, for the sake of the chemistry on-screen. She looked at the director, with a casual glance ever so often at the rest of the crew to get an idea of how they felt about the scene. Was it good, bad, perfect, adequate, okay? Did it have to be re-done? Really want to redo it. The baffled look on everyone’s faces gave Marley absolutely nothing, because what kind of baffled was it? “Uh y-yeah,” she stuttered, having difficulties processing what to say. “That scene felt great, it was great! Right, Finn?”
Finn didn't want the kiss to end at all. And he immediately missed Marley's lips on his. He was sure his brain would go into overload from the situation, dealing with the kiss that had just happened, the scene they were filming, what did this mean, did it mean anything? All these thoughts flew around in Finn's head. The most prominent one though was her, Marley. How could it not be? Right now, in his head, everything about her was just perfect. And if it was possible, he wanted her even more now. Now that he had gotten to know what kissing her and being around her felt like.
When she asked him, he couldn't help but get a really intense smile on his face. Like he was being questioned by the police, "Yeah. It was good, I think that was good." He said, a little nervously, but he tried to hide it as best as he could. The director looked at them with a raised eyebrow, but she nodded slowly. "Riiight. Well, I think that we have it. Good work everyone, let's start setting up for the next scene." she said to the crew. He felt as if his feet were glued to the ground. Marley was just right in front of him. What did he say now? "So... That was good... You're a really good kisser." he said biting his lip, looking at her, trying to just find out what was going on inside her head. What was she thinking?

Marley felt her pulse increase by the second and she found herself fighting between her real feelings and her character, but quickly realized that she could use those conflicting feelings to her acting. “Then who do y–” She began to say in character, soon interrupted by the firm embrace of Finn and his lips clashing onto hers. Her arms found their way around his neck, pulling him in closer to deepen the kiss, unaware of how invested she already was. It was everything she wanted it to be and more, the adrenaline and bliss surging through her body at the sensation of being so intimately close with the one person she was falling for.
The idea of the entire world stopping around you when you saw someone special was something Marley had longed to experience, and here she was, truly feeling like the whole world had disappeared underneath their feet and it was just her and Finn in this moment. All sounds, voices and anything that was a part of the concept that was life on Earth was faded and bleak, to the point where the voice of the director calling out for them to ‘cut’ was so muffled to her ears that she couldn’t even comprehend them as an actual sound. His touch was addicting, his lips even more so, and she didn’t even feel the need to come up for air.
Never had Finn felt such an instantaneous attraction, as he had with Marley. And their kiss didn't diminish that, it just added to it. It was everything he secretly wanted it to be, everything he craved. He felt his heart beating, and it was beating for her. Right now, it was just her and him. And the rest of the world had been totally forgotten, everything else had melted away. A sense of time, of where he was, of why he was kissing her, completely gone. The sound of the director yelling cut was not heard by him. He was completely lost in Marley. The girl that he was undeniably falling hard for.
The kiss ended naturally, as naturally as any couple kissing, did. And he was breathing, catching his breath and he smiled at Marley, looking into her eyes. Those beautiful, piercing green-blue eyes. The thing that brought him back to life was the director yelling at them. "Guys?!" his gaze went quickly from Marley to their director. Like a deer caught in headlights, Finn had no idea what to say or do now. He looked at the crew standing behind their director, some having a big smile on their face, while others looking like they had no idea what was going on. There were so many thoughts going on in Finn's head right now. The kiss was amazing, and Marley had to know that too, because there was no pulling away from her end. So what does that mean? His face getting red, because it felt exactly like a kid getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. What to even say right now?
These were just a few of Finn's thoughts spinning in his head right now, and it made his head spin. Or maybe that was just the after effects of his kiss with Marley. The most important one now was the latter one though, so his brain focused on that. "Was that not good enough?" he said calmly, faking it completely, cause his heart was still beating fast. "Me and Marley talked about how we wanted to do the characters justice, and everyone hates fake chemistry on screen." he said with a shrug.

Marley felt yet another blush creep up on her when he commented on her kissing. How much could she blush around one person? Geez. “I’m glad that you assume that,” she giggled nervously, her face nearly bursting from smiling so hard. “I’m sure you’re one, too.” The more she thought about it, the more she realized she probably wasn’t going to survive this scene - her heart was already beating so fast.
Marley turned her head when the director spoke, giving all of her attention to her. Her eyes widened at the director’s little warning, and if she wasn’t already blushing in a deep shade of red already, she definitely was now. “Uh I-I didn’t have any plans to do so,” she stuttered anxiously, only a little horrified by that assumption that they would. She mirrored his chuckle as he spoke, nodding rapidly. “Uh yeah, I’m sticking with the script for this one too.” She shook off the nerves and the growing jitters, highfiving him back with a grin. “We got this!”
As the crew got into the positions and the director in her seat, Marley walked alongside Finn to their marks, going through the script in her head word for word as she waited for their cue. She looked up at Finn, giving him a reassuring smile before gradually going into character. The director yelled “action!” and she began saying her lines, letting the words take over her demeanor, all thoughts that once belonged to her, Marley Rose, now belonged to her character only.
Finn beamed at her and chuckled "Well, I guess we will find out soon enough." The excitement and fear was mixing in his stomach and head. He was looking forward to it, he was dreading it. But if there was one feeling that was stronger than the other, it was the looking forward to it. He wanted to kiss Marley, because... of course he did. She was a funny, sweet and beautiful girl. Any guy would be lucky to kiss her.
"Yeah, we do." he said confidently as they walked to the set. Finn worked on getting into character, wanting to do each word in the script justice. Ready to kick some ass. The director yelled "action!", and he looked at Marley as she begun saying her lines. Trying not to let his admiration for her acting, show on his face. Because now he wasn't Finn. He was someone else. Someone madly in love with the girl in front of him. And he was going to kiss her. "Don't you get it? I can't be with her." he said, in character, as he stepped close to Marley. He looked down at her and into her eyes. He looked at her like loved her. "Because I don't want her." This was it. Finn wrapped his arms around Marley and pressed her close to him and kissed her with all the passion in his bones. And right then and there he knew he was fucked, because it was perfect.

In a way, Marley was happy that she was acting alongside someone she truly deemed as a friend, someone who made her feel comfortable and not judged. At the same time, it was terrifying to be in a position with someone she undeniably started to gain feelings for, even how much she tried to deny it. The only reminder she really could tell herself was that it was all acting and it was their characters kissing and being in love, not them in real life… even if Marley did feel like her character in this instance.
The corners of Marley’s lips turned upwards into a tight smile before she parted them to speak, but Finn got in some words before she managed to. “Oh, well, that’s just great because I had the best anchovy salad right before I got here,” she joked back, letting out a breathy giggle. “I can tell,” she laughed as he rambled. “I try to be as clean as possible as well, because I want it to be a good experience kissing me.” She giggled once again, unable to stop thinking about how adorable Finn was. “I think I gave the rambling dork disease to you. I didn’t know it was contagious, I’m so sorry.”
Finn chuckled at her joke, and appreciated the tone they were establishing before the kiss scene. He usually didn't care this much, but there was something about Marley that made it nerve wracking and exciting at the same time. He bit his lip, was she complimenting his teeth? He did do his best to take care of them. "Yeah well, I can't see it being anything other than a good experience." he said looking right into her eyes. "I'm sure you're a great kisser." he said with an affirmative nod. "Yeah, well if I wouldn't have caught it then, I definitely would have caught it now."
Their director came their way and clapped her hands together "Okay, guys. Let's shoot some magic. So, we won't do any rehearsal. I'm just going to tell you how I want it to look, then you do it once. Then I'll quickly run in and give you my notes and you'll do it all over again. And I know you're nice kids, but I tell my all my actors this, no need for any improvisation during the kissing scene. That means Finn, keep your hands off Marley's ass and Marley you keep your hands off of Finn's. We don't need this to be branded as a #MeToo set." The director said with a smile and walked away.
Finn couldn't tell if she was joking or not. "Just so you know, I wasn't planning on grabbing your ass." He said with an embarrassed chuckle. "I respect you, I would never do that." he said with a firm nod. He was anxious and he felt his heart beating, but no. He wasn't going to let his fears get the best of him, he refused. He was going to take charge of this situation and not let his anxiety do it. "Let's kick this scene's ass, okay?" he said determined and his hand in the air for her to high five.
#//lmao sorry for the director thing in the middle it just came to me and i just wanted to do it haha#F2F#f2f: 004#//also leave it up to these dorks to high five before a kiss scene#///ifshe actually does it that is ahaha

Marley had spent the entire night before staring at the one page where the kiss scene took place on the script, nearly unable to sleep from all the jitters and nerves she was having about this day. She wanted it to be perfect, but at the same time not too perfect. She didn’t want this to affect her personally, but she knew no matter how this kiss would end up, she would feel some way about it. In her professional life, nothing had gotten her so badly as this had - she was simply an emotional wreck. After a semi-successful attempt to meditate in her trailer, she stepped out with her head high, telling herself that today was going to be amazing and she was going to remain professional throughout the entire scene.
Upon arrival, she greeted every–yes, every single–crew member present before having a quick chat with the director. “Quick run-through?” Marley said, holding back a little gasp. Okay, maybe that was a good thing. Finn was a great co-actor, they were definitely going to make this work. As the director walked away, she looked up, immediately locking eyes with Finn. There was no way he looked even more handsome and adorable than he had ever done before. She raised her hand gently for a small wave, grinning as they stood several feet apart, awaiting the big moment she had spent weeks being nervous about. As she began walking over to Finn, her breath became shaky, though she tried to take deep breaths to get it under control. “Hey,” she said softly once she approached him. “So… are you ready?”
The more Finn thought about it, the sillier it seemed. It was a silly little crush, he's going to manage to get over it. Although that was easier to think to himself when Marley wasn't in his immediate view. This definitely wouldn't be the last time they kiss, their characters were love interests. And if they got renewed for more seasons this would go on for a long time. But maybe he'd get used to it by then. Just kiss her a few times today and then he would be used to it. Crack some jokes after, keep it friendly. Associate their kisses palship. Was that even a word? His thoughts were spiraling. And Marley was approaching him, "Snap out of it Hudson." he thought to himself.
"Hey" he replied back with a soft smile. He bit his lips at her words and nodded "I'm ready." it got silent for some seconds before he decided to try to break the tension. He didn't know if it was just in his head, or if she felt it too. "I just had the most wonderful garlic pizza for lunch. So you have much to look forward too." he said with a chuckle, trying out a joke. "I'm kidding of course, freshly brushed, just for you... not that I don't brush my teeth when I don't have kissing scenes. I do. I have a very healthy set of teeth." he sighed at the end, embarrassed of his own ramblings. "Guess you're not the only rambling dork." he said, referring to the pet name he had given her the last time they saw each other.

the kiss ➝ hudrose
Today was the day, the day Finn had thought about for so long. This was it. They were gonna shoot the scene where his and Marley's character kiss. To say that the butterflies in his stomach were going wild, were an extreme understatement. But he also this feeling inside of him, that was hard to explain, but it felt good and promising in a way. He was the first of the two of them and he was immediately greeted by the director. "Finn, great to see you!" she seemed a little stressed, and that worried Finn. "You know shooting tv shows are on a tight schedule, and we've had to rearrange some stuff. So we won't have as much time to shoot this scene as we thought. But I think that'll help you and Marley really feel the intensity of the scene when we don't have as much time as usual." Finn just nodded "Okay, yeah." The director smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "Great." she said before rushing off.
On one hand, he was kind of disappointed, on the other, maybe this would make the scene better. Knowing they had to nail it in a few takes. A few takes... to get to kiss Marley. He could feel his heart skip a beat, and it didn't help when he saw the brown haired girl enter the set and the director rushing off to her, probably telling her the same thing she told him. This was it, in a few minutes they would start shooting, and he would be kissing Marley Rose. No big deal. It was nerve wracking, but he couldn’t help but smile a little too as he looked at her.

themarleyrrose:
Marley related to his sentiment - she was also a small town girl taking the big leap to LA. She wasn’t sure if she was ever going to get used living in a big city like this. She let out a nervous laugh before taking a breath. “Alright. I have a neighbor who has the cutest dog in the entire world. I’ve memorized the times they take him out for a walk so I can ‘run into them in the hallway’ and cuddle the dog. It kinda sounds creepy now that I say it out loud, but I love that dog so much. He makes my day.” She laughed some more as she shook her head, slightly embarrassed by herself. “No regrets though. I just don’t have the time for a dog of my own.”
Being around Finn felt incredibly good. It was hard to imagine that she had to leave at some point, but she knew she would walk out of this apartment by the end of the day with a huge, silly grin on her face. Regardless of where her feelings would go, she was glad to have found a friend like Finn. A giggle escaped her lips at his little pet name he gave her, and she was unable to hide her obvious blush… once again. “We love a man with surprises.”
Finn bit his lip and smiled as Marley told about the neighbor's dog, and he couldn't help but chuckle. She truly was something else, a person he had never met before. But a person he liked and appreciated, a lot. "You are one crazy dorky girl." He said with a smile. "But that's really cute. I like it… Your secrets safe with me. I won't tell people you're a dog stalker. As long as you'll allow me to tag along once, because I'm all for cute dogs."
Marley was cool, really really cool. And he kind off had the feeling that tonight they'd establish something good. This friendship, wherever it took them, it didn't matter. This was good. And they got along, and even spent time off-set now. What more could you want from someone you're working with? He liked Marley and hoped they could be close friends. That would be the cherry on top on this amazing opportunity he had gotten. "Well, it seems you're full of some surprises too Marley." He said with a smile. He was going to really enjoy the rest of his Friday with her.

“I still think it’s exciting,” Marley nodded confidently. “Moving to Europe? Whew, I’m jealous.” She let out a soft laugh before taking the last bite of her sandwich. smiling contently as she brushed her hands off. Giving herself time to think about the question, she wondered what her little thing was, and when she thought of it… she wasn’t sure if she wanted to tell him. It wasn’t like she wasn’t fine with being herself with him, but at the same time she was trying to impress him a little bit. “I don’t know, it’s kind of goofy,” she admitted, ducking her head a little. “You might think I’m a total dork.”
Marley was curious if he was this nice to everyone. She could tell he treated everyone so nicely and with genuine respect, but she hadn’t really seen him being with his friends. If he was being so sweet to her, surely his friends must be thinking that he was an absolute angel. But on the off chance that he was into her, what would’ve she even done with that? She loved this job too much, and dating your love interest on screen was kind of… predictable? Yet she understood why co-stars end up dating, especially if they ended up having as much chemistry as she and Finn did now. “I would never use you for anything but yourself–or, that came out totally wrong. What I meant to say is that I like you for you and I wouldn’t be around you for anything else,” she rambled, growing more and more embarrassed by herself. “This was great, though! I even got to try new things, which I definitely didn’t expect.”
Finn chuckled at her comment and nodded "Yeah. It is pretty exciting. Moving somewhere you've never been before, another language. I don't know if I could do that. Moving here to L.A was a big enough step for a small-town boy like me. But I would like to see it… All, actually." He had never dreamed of that when he was younger, but now that he could afford it, it didn't seem that far out of reach. He couldn't help but find her sudden shyness anything but very endearing and attractive. "Oh, goofy?" he said with a little smile. "Don't worry, I love dorky." He said with a soft smile, and he, without noticing bit his lip.
Being with Marley, it was giving him such a rush. It felt really good just being with her. So, if he couldn't do anything about his developing crush, he was at least going to enjoy her company. And he'd just have to try to not let his feelings get the better of him. He just had to think that, even if he had the slightest chance with Marley, it probably wasn't a good idea. They were co-workers, and they were hopefully going to be for a long time. This could be his first long time role on television. And hopefully it would lead to different things, so he shouldn't put a spoke in his own wheels. Or hers for that matter. The problem was that he could say all this to himself inside his head, but he found he forgot that easily when he was with her. He couldn't help but smile more and more as she rambled on and on, he was glad he wasn't the only one of them who could just ramble and ramble. "Thanks Marley. And ditto… you rambling dork." He said teasingly as he poked her shoulder. "I'm full of lovely surprises."

“You have friends in Europe? My, my, look at you,” Marley teased with a large grin, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. “I like it. I like that you’re so willing to invest in this little thing that makes every day a little better. I think everyone should have a thing like that. Not necessarily something hard to access, but just something special they’d go the extra mile for.” The more she spent time with Finn, the more attractive qualities she found in him, making it harder for her to ignore the tingling in her stomach whenever she laid her eyes on him. His charm was nearly overwhelming, though it also felt so good to be around him.
Was she stupid for thinking she actually had a chance with Finn? What were the possibilities of him inviting other castmates on one-on-one hangouts at his apartment like this? Was it silly to think that there was a possibility that he could like her? Nope, you cannot be thinking about this, Marley Rose. You are co-starsit’s too risky, she convinced herself, snapping out of her own thoughts as she diverted her focus back to him. “I love your small passionate speeches. Especially when they’re so nice as the one you just gave,” she beamed, putting a hand to her burning cheek. Now she was sure that she was going to fall in love the moment their lips touched. It was over for her. Good luck, Marley. The urge to lean in was intense, and for a moment, she just locked her eyes onto his, swallowing nervously. She snapped out of it as soon as he cleared his throat, leaning back a little as she let out a soft chuckle. “I will definitely stop by more often for this. And to hang out with you, of course.”
Finn rolled his eyes playfully at her comment and let out a chuckle "Actually not as exotic as it sounds. It's just a friend of mine who moved to Europe. But European friend sounds cooler than American friend that moved to Europe. So maybe that should stay between us." He said jokingly. He smiled warmly at her as she talked, she had a way with words. "Yeah…" he said, almost at a loss for words. "That's a really good way to put it." Being with Marley was… intoxicating. There was no other word for it. And when she talked and just put all her thoughts out there, it was hard not to feel the incredibly strong crush he had on her. "Do you have anything like that? A little thing that makes every day a little better?"
"Well, thank you. I like giving them." He said with a smile. It seemed as the compliments were flying between them. If he didn’t know any better, he'd think Marley was into him a little too. I mean, how often do you meet people and there's this much chemistry. Maybe it happened a lot to her, because she was just so naturally… perfect. Or maybe she didn't, and this was actually… something. But no, even if there was something, even a little bit from her. She probably wouldn't want to act on it. She's probably professional like that. And then that would be very embarrassing for him to put it out there. He didn't want to put her in that position. But that upcoming kiss between them, that wasn't going to help him. And he could swear they just had a moment before he cleared his throat. Either way, it wasn't happening, it couldn't happen, right? He'd never been so confused and thought about something as he was now with him and Marley, and to be honest it hurt his head a little. He just needed to shake his thoughts away. Hearing her say she would stop by more made his heart flutter. "I'd love that. You're always welcome to come over. And I'm glad you're not just using me for my delicious grilled cheeses." He said with a chuckle.

Marley couldn’t help but giggle at his love for the particular soda. She loved his little niche thing - it was so random but yet something that totally made sense for Finn Hudson and him only. She wasn’t one for expensive kind of luxury herself, but she never did see the point in spending excessive amounts of money on specific things. “Like how last week I went grocery shopping for the whole week at Trader Joe’s instead of Food 4 Less,” she added before accepting the soda and taking a sip. “Oh my gosh, I wasn’t expecting that,” she genuinely reacted once she got a taste. It was surprisingly fresh, but way more tart and lemony than the other citrus flavored drinks she had before. “Where did you get this again?”
Letting out a breathy, humble laugh, Marley ducked her head shyly as he spoke. “You think so?” she asked, just barely looking up at him. “I appreciate that a lot. Maybe it’s just because I’m thriving when I’m working with you.” She genuinely couldn’t remember the last time acting with someone felt so natural and easy, but Finn had a certain energy–a spirit if you will–that drew her in and it felt just… right. No matter how nervous she was for their upcoming kiss scene, she had a feeling that they would be able to capture the chemistry and essence needed for the scene perfectly, because with Finn, it couldn’t be anything less than. “I’m not even saying this to hype you up, although you definitely deserve it, but it’s just so simple and delicious,” she claimed, taking another bite of the sandwich followed by a small sip of the soda. “Me neither,” she pitched in. She wasn’t one to date unless it came about naturally, but she also have had a history of not always being able to say no, leading to several attempts of dating people she just didn’t connect with or guys who just wanted flings. “Exactly…” she drifted off, distracted by how specific Finn’s eye contact was. “I–I’m such a hopeless romantic. I love the idea of falling in love with your best friend or just one day realizing that the person that’s right for you was there in front of you the whole time. And when that realization comes, everything is just… perfect.”
Finn grinned at her and pointed at her "Exactly like that." It was amazing to him how alike they were, and how she just got him. It felt good. Really good. "Right?! It's worth every penny." He said as he took another sip himself. "It's pure genius in a can, that's what it is. "A friend in Europe ships it to me. Yeah, the shipping costs sucks, but it's so worth it." He was glad she didn't judge him for it, but when he thought about it, it was Marley, she didn't have a mean-spirited or judgmental bone in her body. God, she was just… perfect. Pretty, beautiful, smart, hot, fun…. And CO-WORKER, he had to remind himself loudly in his own head before getting lost in a day dream.
Finn couldn't help but find her being humble and a little shy about what he said, anything but really fucking adorable. "Of course. You're my favorite person to work with." He looked at her and nodded "I feel the same. Which is why I'm so happy that our characters are love interests. I think we can do a hell of a job. And we got the right chemistry for it. And it's going to allow us to work together a lot. Which is the best part." He said with a little smile. "I like working and… hanging out with you." He said waving his hand, motioning between them. "Sorry… I'm kind of known for my small passionate speeches." He said with a little embarrassed chuckle. But he couldn't help it, something about Marley, it just fired him up. And he found himself always looking forward to their scenes, and now hanging out with her. And if he was completely honest with himself, he was looking forward to the kissing scene, he was still really nervous about it. But it just felt like, that would reveal something. What would it feel like to kiss her? Would it be really good? Or would the whole crush fade away and it would be a little awkward like most kissing on screen for actors are. "Oh no, be my guest and hype me up." He said with a chuckle. "But thanks. I appreciate it. You're always welcome to come over for some grilled cheese sandwiches. He couldn't help but just stare at her as she spoke. Everything she said, he agreed with it. And he couldn't help but let out "Yeah. That sounds amazing" in a whisper. He wanted nothing more than to just lean forward and kiss her now. He could feel his heart beating in his chest, rapidly. But he couldn't. Instead he cleared his throat and took another bite of his grilled cheese. "You're definitely right, these are good."

Marley’s chest felt warmer, as if her heart was glowing at the sound of his laugh. She always loved to laugh along with people, and she believed that any smile was contagious. Finn’s smile, however, was breathtaking to her and incredibly adorable. It might’ve been too soon to tell, but she definitely had not felt this way about someone she had worked with before. It wasn’t necessarily something major, or at least she tried to convince herself it wasn’t, but she liked that things felt different with him. Though simultaneously just as frightening. “That sounds wildly exciting - I don’t think I’ve ever had Fanta Lemon before,” she admitted, though intrigued to how he had gotten his hands on a soda she was pretty sure she hadn’t seen before.
“Yeah,” Marley grinned at the thought of her amazing mom. “She is. She’s the best.” Something about hearing Finn treat his own mother like that made her heart melt and the urge to let out a loud, obnoxious “aww” was strong - but she held back. There was truly nothing more attractive than a sweet guy who loved and cared for his mom. “I agree! Money obviously isn’t everything, but it means so much to be able to give back and do these gestures to give thanks. I don’t wanna jinx it, but I do hope I’ll be able to afford buying my mom a house someday.” When the sandwiches were ready, she grinned excitedly, gently grabbing one and taking a slow bite in case it was super hot. “Yup,” she muttered after swallowing her first bite. “It’s amazing. You are the grilled cheese master for sure.” She took a larger bite, but briefly stopped chewing when Finn asked–or at least she thought it was a question–her about her love life. She fell speechless for a second (did he also just say she was pretty?), covering her mouth so she could finish chewing. So many things were going through her head right now, she didn’t know where to start. “I live by myself. And I’m single… as a pringle,” she shrugged slightly with a smile. “I haven’t really been thinking about dating until re—um, it’s just not easy to date with my schedule, as you know. What about you?”
Finn thought Marley looked incredible when she was smiling. And it didn't make his butterflies any easier to disappear. But hey, maybe they didn't need to disappear. He could just enjoy her company until their friendship naturally evolved and then he would be totally over these butterflies. Right? "Oh, yeah. I'm not going to use my hard-earned paycheck on expensive stuff like luxury cars, crazy nights out on the town or super expensive designer clothes. I'm going to use it on the best luxury, getting Fanta Lemon shipped to the U.S." he said with a grin "It's the little things in life, don't you agree?" he said with a grin as he got two Fanta Lemon from the fridge and gave one of them to Marley. He opened his and took a sip. "Oh yeah, that's the stuff."
"I don't doubt it." He said with a smile. For whatever reason, Finn wanted to meet the lady who had brought up the woman in front of him. There was no question she had to be a pretty darn cool lady herself like Marley. He bit his lip as Marley spoke, she was just so genuinely nice, and that, meant more to him than anything. "Spoiler alert, but I think you're going to be able to buy your mom multiple houses. You're really talented Marley, this is just the beginning for you." He said with a smile as he finished up the sandwiches and handed them out. "The grilled cheese à la Finn.". Out of all the people who had tried this, Marley was the one he wanted to like it the most. He wanted to impress her. And he wasn't disappointed because it seemed like she was enjoying it. He pumped his fist into the air as she revealed the verdict "And don't you forget it Marley Rose." He said before biting into his own. He nodded as she spoke, a wave of relief came over him as she said he was single. And he couldn't help but smile at her "pringle" addition. God she was a dork, and he loved it. "Oh yeah, definitely. I'm recently single since about a year ago. And to be honest I'm not into the whole, going out on the town and looking for somebody or going on the dating apps, you know? I'd rather just… meet someone naturally. If it happens, it happens. If you meet that special someone." He said as he was looking into her eyes.
