You know what would’ve been cool? If Alice was Dolls’ daughter instead. Years later, when the curse is over and they’re able to finally bring her back home. They tell her about how both of her parents are heroes. That they fought hard so that she could live in a world without fear and that he would’ve loved her as much as he did her mom. It’s one of the most bittersweet moments between the gang but one look at her daughter is all it takes for Wyn to know that everything is ok and worth it because even if he’s not here physically, she still has a piece of him with her.

I just think it would be nice if the show with the unkillable lesbian could also be the show with the unkillable black man.

ps: stop using “shamier was happy with it” as an excuse. we don’t know the guy so we don’t know how he feels about it. cause you think if he hated it he would be telling it to the media? lololol he isn’t stupid, that could ruin his career. he’s being professional, that’s it.

Here’s the thing
They have never not been fumbling Xavier Dolls from day one! Like, let us be frank: a) fantasy addiction metaphors have never worked not even once and if I see one more I’m gonna explode, and b) it made no logical sense at any point in time and most importantly c) it was entirely thoughtless to make that Xavier’s whole thing! On levels! I think I once naively referred to this problem as “easily fixed,” because it was all magic science anyway so they could have literally at any time made it Not A Thing anymore, but in fact they never did, I guess.
Like do you remember that time they had doc tut disapprovingly at him bc he ~knows an addict when he sees one~ when it’s like damn you’re trying to push this as his big Moral Dilemma when what you’re actually showing me is a guy who needs this stuff to not like burst into flames like magic insulin to his fire diabetes. Not to be flippant about diabetes it’s just the first maintenance substance that came to mind.
Like to make it the instrument of his sacrifice! What the hell!!! And they never even thought that through either—was the reason he died bc he *did* take he medicine and suffered these ill-defined side effects, or because he didn’t in order to be more powerful, knowing he would burn himself out? I can’t tell bc that whole plot point is a mess. Would it really have been so hard to set up a Cover the Retreat sort of gambit???
Listen all I know about Dolls is that he likes the Cardinals and hates the woods and I know just about every time Doc wiped his ass that he thought would make a good old timey morality tale. And I say that with a deep fondness for Doc and as a huge fan of Tim’s performance! You cannot tell me it’s not fair to charge them with, at the very least, dicking around rather than developing the male lead they promised, to the point that it cost them.
#i wanted to reblog this one#because YES to all of it#but especially the 'drugs' related thing#like someone else said they weren't drugs#he needed them to survive??? it's medicine#stop trying to make him feel bad for it#i have to take meds to survive too#that does not make me an addict#jfc#this was so poorly done

omg i was just looking at this gifset and this one
this is dolls knowing he’s going to die and he looks at wynonna one last time and smiles because he loves her so much. she’s the last person he looks at.
i wanna die
#i hate everything#this is why my depressed ass shouldn't get invested in shows#it always backfires#and then i just feel terrible

after going through and watching last night’s ep again i think i finally know why dolls’ death sat so poorly with me. i understand that shamier wanted to leave the show and that a character death is the cleanest way to handle that, but maybe killing him off in the sloppiest episode to date wasn’t a great choice? 35 minutes of wynonna trucking through the woods and talking to her mom (who was a hallucination? that she could physically interact with?) and waverly being stuck in a cage (again, sloppy), and then what? dolls rolls up and dies fighting bulshar’s lackey, who was there for no discernible reason. no time was spent honoring him throughout the episode, he honestly had the least screen-time of any character.
if he was having problems with his drugs, why was the group not made aware? and why was he left out from the action until the end of the episode? it’s hard to cite it as a hero’s death if they die in a fight that has no plot purposes. really, why did bulshar show up at the truck? everything was hectic in a messy way, and on top of that he didn’t even die on screen. two seasons of being a main character, no character growth or development, and no chance for it anymore.
if this was supposed to be the episode where dolls dies, maybe it should’ve been about him.

i’m just so. ugh. cause this shit happens to me over and over and i’m SO. TIRED.
they killed off allison argent because it was the only way for her to go and she was a hero and blah blah blah. it didn’t advance the story at all, it was awful and i cried for days. i still have a hole in my heart for this girl who deserved better. and then they let all the white dudes just go away like that nbd and bring them back later. but allison had to die.
then i somehow got into ha//wa/ii fiv/e-0 (biggest mistake of my life, what a garbage show, don’t ever watch it trust me) and there surprise surprise the MOC, WOC and white lady who was white lead dude’s gf never got storylines. so actors get (understandably) tired of it and want to leave. but, point for the h5/0 writers, they didn’t kill them off. they just wrote them leaving the island and that’s it. and my fave lady has since returned a couple of times which is great. (BUT it feels like i’m being stringed along and i only see her one time every season which is ridiculous and her leaving for no apparent reason gave the haters only more ammo which made me also angry so it’s like???)
all in all, if your fave leaves, you never win and that’s how it is
#it sucks#never trust tv shows#but let's remember that we wouldn't be having this problem#if writers gave minorities#whether it's POC or LGBTQ characters or women#better storylines and stuff to work with#anyway i'm ranting sorry

anyway i’d bet my savings account that if it had been kat barrell leaving and choosing to save dolls as a heroic death y’all would be bending over backwards to make sure wynonna earp season 4 never happened even though it got confirmed less than a week ago but since it’s the other way around it’s “shamier CHOSE to leave! dolls’ death isn’t about race! blah blah blah”
