He can’t remember the sound of her voice, not exactly. But there are things that remind him: the quiet rise and fall of tides along the beach, the warm breeze sifting through tall stems of sea oats, the whisper of ocean currents when he dunks his head below the surf.

Art I did for my fanfic Unsinkable, an AU where Luffy’s mother is an ocean goddess, and water has a different effect on him than other DF users :D Think Ponyo, but with Luffy in the canon OP world lol.

If you don’t mind answering, for the AU where her quirk manifest later, what was Dabi reaction to seeing her participate in the sports festival? How did he feel when she started breaking down and screaming for Toya? I’m not specifying for a request or attempting to rush you if this is already in your WIP, I just gotta know because that’s one of the parts that had me emotional 😭 again love your work

I'm gonna have to put this under a read more because I'm delving a little bit into manga spoilers, so I hope you're caught up with the manga!

Frankly the reveal made me rethink a lot of details about this story, one of the main points revolves around the dynamic between Touya and Firefly.

Dabi would definitely be smug as shit when he sees her amongst all the other participants that made it through the obstacle race! Mainly about the fact that one of his father's biggest "failures" has made it this far in the sports festival. And he has to fight back the urge to laugh in front of so many people as he thinks about Endeavor's reaction, because he know the old man must be seething as his sister keeps advancing through the event.

He'd easily at the edge of his seat as she makes it all the way through the fighting tournament, and he doesn't miss that characteristic bruise around one of her arms, knowing exactly what, or rather who caused it.

Now....the moment the Firefly's quirk starts to manifest, a feeling of dejavu hits Dabi like a bucket of cold water. The horrified look on her face -which is identical to their mother- makes him watch with a keen eye. The way she' trying to wipe the fire away from her limb, before hugging herself as the energy all around starts spiraling out of control it's like a cruel reminder of that day, and for a second his minds goes blank as he hears that blood curdling scream before the screen suddenly goes blank.

Dabi didn't realize he had been holding in his breath until everyone around began whispering about the fight....And he starts to realize it wasn't his imagination.

His youngest sister, the weak, little girl that would constantly cry herself to sleep, or always ran away in fear had just created a massive ruckus in the middle of the sports festival AND outside, judging from the merciless whispers all around.

Even though he was worried, there's also a wicked thought forming inside his head. Thinking of a way to use these sudden news to his advantage....

Sorry firefly, but manifesting a quirk would be the least of your problems....

In the early morning, daylight unwraps the hues of the world. The light soon enough seeps through your bedroom window curtains, giving you and your drowsy boyfriend a warm honey glow to the skin.

Your eyes flutter open, slowly adjusting to your everyday environment. The room was relatively small yet cozy in its own way. The bed was pushed towards a corner, giving more room for other furniture. On the right side of the bed, there was a wooden bureau over a mirror, keeping you and Ace’s clothes in one place. At the front of the bed, there was a large chest, storing various weapons and other personal belongings. And closer to the bed, there was a polish night stand holding a candle, his signature hat and necklace, and a lovely framed photo of you two and of the entire crew.

Before you make your next move, a certain someone decides to wake up. Half-consciously, Ace sits up and yawns, smacking his lips as well. He then looks at you, his hair and overall appearance a mess. Despite that, even in the morning sunlight, he looked more serene and more handsome than you’ve ever seen.

“Morning gorgeous~” Ace leans in and greets you with a quick peck on the cheek. “ How’d you sleep? Hopefully not too bad.”

You let out a chuckle and removed the blanket off of your body so you could get up. “Other than you constantly kicking me and taking most of the blanket last night, I slept wonderfully.”

His cheeks turn red as he rubs the back of his neck. “Yeah, sorry about that”

“Mhm..sure. Next time, I’m tying all of your limbs to the damn bed.”

☆.｡.:* 5:00 PM.｡.:*☆

Ace watches the sea, lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves on sand. A cool draught of air whips over the waves, bringing a taste of the ocean with it. It howls in a low whistle, tossing you and your boyfriend’s head of hair as roughly as the ocean at your feet.

He smiles to himself, almost as if he’s browsing through sweet, sweet memories. You didn’t want to interrupt this special moment for him, so you silently kept your distance.

He rakes his fingers through his hair and sits down, gently resting his hat in the sand. He then looks at you, smiling.

“Do you remember the first time we met?” Ace asked, patting his thighs.

“I remember it like the back of my hand.” You replied, walking over to him to sit in his lap. He then wraps his arms around your waist and gently places a kiss on your head, resting his chin there after.

“Marco and Thatch thought it was a great idea to introduce you to me while I was in the middle of changing.” You chuckled at the sudden mental image of the two receiving large knots on their heads. “All three of you guys were total perverts that day. Thatch even pretended to be blind and came closer!”

Ace smirks. “How was I a pervert when I simply just liked what I saw? He whispered, leaning in and slightly nibbling on the top of your ear. “Hmm?~”

Your cheeks heat up as you fiddle with a strand of your hair “Q-quit fooling around Ace!” You barked. “You know how much I hate it when you do that!”

“Okay, okay, I’m sorry…….you love it don’t you?”

“ACE!”

He’s gonna make sure u have what u want and need as well. He’s gonna make sure that his baby mama is financially fed well and looking tight so he can brag to others about how he knocked you up and how you’re being well taken care of along with his kids

The kids actually whine for him to read them a bedtime story and kiss them goodnight. He saw it as a sign of weakness per say, but he eventually warmed up to it and does it every night for them

He’ll make it a point to teach them basic kitchen rules like washing dishes as you go and knife safety

He doesn’t mind staying up late at night with the babies to feed them milk and changing them. Sanji for best mom😌✨

Low key a helicopter dad. I mean think about it, he’s apart of the strawhats and his captain is Monkey D Luffy. He gotta know what his kids are doing/wanting to do AT ALL TIMES. He doesn’t want his babies (you included) to get hurt or kidnapped

He was their first star and their first black star. He started it all. Without Lee Thompson Young the network would NOT have gotten to where it is today.
