maybe i’m biased but nothing will beat roawelin like sjm herself won’t even be able to write couple better than them they are the beginning and the end they are the epitome of fated mates and of every other trope they are the standard no one else will ever compare or even come close to them and its ok if you don’t think so bc sjm wrote them specifically for me ok

One day this fandom will realize that Tower of Dawn is one of SJM’s best book she’s ever published. No I will not be taking any criticism. She achieved a level of enthralling and unique fantasy world building in this single novel that took her about 3.5 books to reach in TOG.

i think one of the most interesting aspects of Aelin’s character is that, despite being the chosen one both by the gods (nameless is their price) and by birth (the queen that was promised), she doesnt kill ANY of the big bads herself.

cain? chaol kills him. arobynn? lysandra. the king of adarlan? dorian. cairn? rowan. erawan? yrene. maeve? fenrys.

so many stories have the chosen one hero battling down with their enemies and eventually slaying them. and aelin absolutely has a part in all their deaths, theyre simply just never by her hand. she has every right to claim those deaths for herself, but she doesnt.

aelin's the chosen one, but most importantly, shes chosen by her PEOPLE, by her FRIENDS!!! and those bonds that she forged is what saves the world in the end and i think thats beautiful.
