This is really interesting looking English publishing company, but they let one of their books on Welsh churches be published with a backcover that said that Wales is a Principality........which it hasn't been since 1536.
Bit of a fail for publishing company about history, don't you think? I think it happens a lot to small nations where the narrative about that country is written and dominated by the one next door.
Although, as I always say, please always fact check what you read about Wales before republishing info online. The author of this book belongs to a history group which recently tweeted what the meaning of 'hiraeth' was.......which was wrong. A bit annoying considering that their meaning was then retweeted many times (and they didn't remove it despite me correcting them). I guess the retweets were too good.
If they had asked a native Welsh speaker, this mistake wouldn't have happened. With some languages, this is a bit difficult, but there are plenty of speakers on Twitter so there's no excuses!
This is why I do what I do - there are so few of our voices out there.

Awgrym - os 'da chi'n mynd ar un o drenau Avanti i Ogledd Cymru, cofiwch ddod ag olew mintys poeth efo chi i roi ar hances.....mae'r rhei o'r cerbydau yn gallu ogleuo ychydig bach fel bin sbwriel wedi'w gymysgu efo toiled. Os mai'n gynnes, neith yr olew anweddu yn araf o gwmpas. Mae o'n gallu neud byd o wahaniaeth.
A train journey.
Tip - if you're going on one of Avanti's trains to North Wales, bring some peppermint oil with you to put on a handkerchief.....some of the carriages can smell a bit like a combination of a bin mixed with a toilet. If it's warm, the oil will evaporate slowly around you It can make a world of difference.
