I stared tiredly up at the now shattered Stark tower, before taking a breath and heading inside. The fighting had literally just stopped, but something was pulling me in…something needed me. I’d learned to follow those pulls. They’d never steered me wrong. I walked up and up and up, all the way to the floor where Ironman had been thrown through the window. There…the reason for everything. I knew instantly upon seeing the green clad god that it was all his fault. “You absolute asshole.” I stormed over to where he was lying on the ground, clearly in pain. “What did you do to me?” Despite my tone, I was gentle as I started looking him over for more than bruising, carefully removing his armor and tunic. “Roll over, let me see your back.”
“Who are you?” He did, and there was something….right about the fact that this being who didn’t trust anyone was giving me his back.
I hissed in sympathy at the mottled bruising that was getting worse even as I watched. “What hit you?”
“I believe he is called the Hulk.” Green eyes looked over his shoulder at me with curiosity.
“Then I think you’re lucky. From what I know, he’s stupidly strong. I’m gonna go find you some ice for the swelling so you can at least move a bit more easily.”
“Who are you?”
“I’m the person who’s been dreaming about you for years. Didn’t know it was you til now though.”
Confusion then understanding dawned in his eyes. “I did a spell, a very long time ago. I always thought it failed.”
“What kind of spell?” I stood and headed toward the half ruined bar.
“Someone to be by my side as my brother should have been.” His voice was soft, vulnerable. I froze.
“Well then.” I gathered some ice and brought it back to him after a moment. “Guess I’ll do that then. Everyone deserves someone by their side.”
He struggled to sit up fully then smiled at me. It was a small, sad thing. “Are you sure about that?”
“Positive.” I nodded, smiling back. “I know a little of what you’ve been through. I have your back.”
He laughed and rested his forehead against mine….then all of the sudden…
I was so different from everyone around me. Bright gold hair and muscles were everywhere, even my brother, but I was long and lanky with dark hair.  I didn’t have the muscles, but I so wanted to be like my amazing older brother. Mother did her best to teach me the best ways to fight while being small, and it worked! I could almost keep up on the training grounds, without my magic! Mother taught me magic too, helping me learn and grow and nurturing my interests in a way no one else did.
I learned and grew and idolized my brother. father told us we were both meant to rule as he told us stories of the glories of past wars.  Brother and I
Brother gained new friends, the warriors three. They had another hanger on, a girl, Sif. I thought maybe we could be friends because we were both so different. It was not to be, as she took more after my golden brother. One would think she was his sibling rather than me. That was okay. I was just grateful he and his friends let me tag along. They liked it more when I could help them thanks to my magic.
Brother told me magic wasn’t a manly thing to do. It’s always amused him though. But…I suppose Asgardians are more about the muscle, aren’t they. I tried to build muscle like he did, but it didn't work. I got better with throwing knives, learning to strike before anyone realized I was even there. It was considered cowardly, but I didn't have the sheer strength of the other Aesir. Decades of adventures and danger and being treated worse and worse led me to spending more and more time in the library until I found an old spell. The concept intrigued me. Forgotten sedir that would allow him to find that bond, that connection with someone that he'd once had with his brother before they grew apart so harshly. That bond he so desperately desired and craved, as the outcast of the royal family. No one in his life gave me that bond, and as time passed and I still lacked such a close connection to anyone, I gave the idea up as a failed experiment. Life continued, Thor's adventures and having to talk them out of danger, a few memorable moments of mischief, Thor in a wedding gown, Odin manipulating me into seducing a stallion, my first child ripped away before I could even get to hold him, rumors circulating, my brother becoming more of a stranger, secluding myself in the library more and more. Then the day of Thor's attempted coronation, trying to talk to the man I still thought of as my father about my concerns and being brushed off. Having to trick a couple Jotun into appearing in the Vault. Everything going so terribly, horrifically wrong. Heimdall committing treason, turning blue, Thor's banishment, learning about being adopted, Father falling into the Odinsleep, being the temporary king, Thor still managing to cause trouble, Heimdall committing treason again, Laufey, the fight on the bifrost, falling....falling falling...pain, so much pain. a blue jeweled scepter, new thoughts and ideas, preparing to lead and army to Midgard, the defenders, the green beast, then a human, covered in dust and bruises, calling me an asshole with soft eyes and gentle hands as she helped and...oh. That bond was so much better than I ever thought it could be.
I opened my eyes again as myself and smiled at Loki. "You are so amazing."
"W-What?"
"You are amazing. You've experienced so much and done so much and are just amazing." I pulled him into a close hug, squeezing him tightly. "I'm so proud of you." For a moment, Loki was stiff in my hug before utterly melting, burying his face in my shoulder. It wasn't long before I felt my shoulder growing damp as he cried. I just held him tightly and hummed softly and off key to whatever showtunes were in my brain.
"Don't leave?" His voice was so much smaller than it should have been, thick with tears and the pain he'd been dealing with alone for far too long.
"Never Loki. You're mine." I assured, stroking his hair. "I'm not leaving your side, as long as I live."
"You'll live a very long time now." He muttered, starting to pull himself off of me.
"I know. And you'll live a much shorter time. I'm sorry about that."
"It's okay. I'd rather a short life with someone who truly cares than a long one without."
"I know." It was weird to know all these things I hadn't before. "I love you, big brother."
"And I love you too, Sister."
"You need rest. I'd say let's go somewhere but..."
"But I attacked the city and need to atone for the crimes I committed."
"And I think you're too worn out to actually do anything to protect us if we ran."
"Indeed." He sighed and laid back into the hole created by the Hulk. "At least this spot is exactly the right size."
I winced at the feeling of rubble pressing into bruises. "I'll grab the cushions from the couch. It'll be better for our back."
"Good thinking."
"I'm used to caring for bruises."
"I've noticed. I'm not exactly sure how you've managed to live this long."
"Oh, don't worry. You're not the only one wondering that." I laughed, pulling ruined cushions off a couch that probably cost more than I made in a year.
"You should sleep too." He snagged them easily as I tossed them over.
"I'll be fine. I want to make sure no one tries anything while you're out of it." I helped him tuck the cushions behind him so that he could rest more comfortably.
"We're tied closely enough that I don't know you'll have a choice."
I hummed my agreement, curling up next to him. "Either way, I'm staying here and doing my best to protect you."
"Puny mortal." He teased, gently stroking my hair.
I lightly slapped his chest before resting my head over his heart. "Silly god."
"Trix are for kids?" I could feel the sleep pulling at our consciousness.
"Mmhm. Sleep hun."
"K..."

The reptile expos were always interesting, ever since I learned I could understand snakes and other reptiles. Since the convention center was a mite chilly, most of the snakes were either sleeping or grumbling. Well, until I made it to a table in the back. Those snakes were a lot more active, probably from the large number of hand warmers, heated blankets, and other warmth producing products. And, if I were to guess, the lump in the keeper’s pocket was a ball of snakes.
I got to the table and a small black, brown, and yellow ball python immediately perked up, nearly shouting. “That’s my human! That one! Mine!”
I immediately wandered to the other end of the table and started looking at some of the other snakes. I could hear the one who’d claimed me kicking up a fuss, but I pretended not to hear it. I looked at the man with the snakes in his pocket. “Can you tell me about this cutie?” I pointed at a random snake.
The man glanced at the fussing snake and back to me. “Well…”
I made eye contact with him, glanced at the fussing snake, and winked. Suddenly, he grinned too. “Well, she is a pastel ghost hognose, about six months old. Would you like to hold her? Fair warning, she can be a little…spicy.”
“I would love to!” I agreed, smiling down at her. She hissed at me in turn. I couldn’t help but laugh.
This continued as I met several other snakes, avoiding the container where the one who’d claimed me was. Some of the snakes had caught on and were making a show of enjoying being held, or got offended and struck at me. I wasn’t bothered by any of it, and was quite honestly enjoying myself. All of the snakes were gorgeous, after all.
Suddenly, there was a pain in my arm as the fussing snake bit me and used that leverage to climb onto my arm and stretch out. “You’re my human. Not theirs.” He hissed angrily. “Mine.”
The keeper chuckled and took the silvery ball python from me. “I think the ruse is up.”
“I think you’re right.” I laughed and turned my attention to the snake on my arm. “Do you have a name, little friend?”
“I am not little!” He hissed.
“You are, compared to me.”
“You understand me?!” He seemed to only just realize I was talking to him.
“Yes I do. And I was always coming to you. But you were being as dramatic as a hognose, so I had to mess with you.”
He made a sound that I'd learned was the snake equivelent of a gasp. “How dare you! I am nothing like a hognose!”
“The way you were trying to get my attemtion says otherwise.” I smiled. “But that's not the point here. I take it you want to come home with me.”
He wrapped around my arm and squeezed tightly. “You're not going anywhere without me ever again.”
“I don't know how to take care of a snake. I can talk to you, but I've never owned one. I don't want to risk hurting you because of my inexperience.”
“I can tell you when I need something else.” He dismissed. “And I'm going to always be with you, so it's fine.”
I glanced up at the vendor. “What do you think?”
“I think I breed Familiars, not normal snakes. Do you know what that means?”
“It mea-hey!”
The vendor reached over and gently flicked him. “Let her answer.”
I smiled softly. “Familiars are the companions to magical people, right?”
“That's a familiar. Upper case F Familiars are that and then some. They're more connected to their human, at a soul level. They can also assist in preforming spells and cleaning up stray magic.”
“then why do you want me?” I looked back down at the snake. “All I can do is talk to reptiles.”
“You're my human. And you can do more.”
“Snake folks, like us, tend to work in different ways. Our magic doesn't even necessarily present the same way that the folks who connect to cats, dogs, and frogs typically do, so it's hard to measure it unless the mage measuring is also a snake mage, or familiar with them.” He explained. “You've absolutely got power, even if you don't know it, otherwise none of my snakes would have taken notice.”

Inspired by this, and my early response to it. https://www.tumblr.com/write-it-motherfuckers/187672014692/wolfygecko-write-it-motherfuckers. This is from the amazing @write-it-motherfuckers!!! Seriously, go check out their prompts!
It was a cool autumn day, and I was enjoying wandering around the creek by halfway down my backyard. I enjoyed looking at the rocks in the creek bed, and occasionally harassing the spiders and fish in the area. Something extra sparkly caught my eye from deeper in the water. When I leaned in and picked it up, nearly face planting in the water in the process, I realized it was a small golden snake with emerald eyes. As I held it, it slowly started growing before it lunged around my wrist and swallowed its own tail to complete the circle. I let out a little shriek of panic and started working to get it off of me. there were no seams I could dig my nails into to try and remove it, it just flexed when I tried to pull it, and the rocks I used to try and break it ended up just bruising me instead.
“Fine. You win. For now.” I grumbled at it, heading back up to the house and grabbing my hoodie on the way. I had gotten a little wet, and while the cool air was normally quite pleasant, against wet skin it was a little much for me. I walked into my back door while pulling the fabric over my head before managing to get through it instead. No sooner had I closed the door than there was a knock on the front door. I adjusted the hoodie sleeve to cover my new bracelet. “Comin'! Just a moment!” I called, hurrying to the front door.
I opened it to see a blond man with some of the biggest muscles I've ever seen outside a body builder and a much slighter, but still large, man next to him. “Sorry to bother you, but our aunt lost her favorite bracelet up the creek. We're going door to door to see if anyone has seen it.” The slighter man spoke.
“It's a gold and emerald snake.” The massive man added helpfully.
I hummed, as though in thought. I was not a good liar, but some instinct was guiding me. “I was just down there but I didn't see anything. You're welcome to go look though. The hook for the fence is on the inside between my house and the next.” I gestured in the correct direction. “Feel free to take your time. If you need anything, just knock. I'm getting ready to make cookies for my fiancé.” Saying there was another person coming home soon should keep them from attacking me if they had nefarious plans.
“Your kindness will be rewarded.” Mountain man smiled at me. It was an open, kind smile, but I didn't trust it.
I knew they were looking for the snake that had latched around my wrist, but...no, there was something off about those two men. I sighed and headed to the kitchen. Even if I didn't have a fiancé, some butterscotch chocolate chip cookies would be really good about now. I set to work, mixing a double batch of dough, and plopping half of it in a bag to freeze for later....if I didn't just eat it raw
As I turned around to start rolling the dough into balls, I froze at the black haired man with his finger in the bowl of dough. “Who the fuck are you?!”
“Shhh.” He turned to smile at me. His eyes were the same color as the eyes of the snake. I narrowed my eyes at him. “You don't want to alert the buffoons that something is amiss.”
“Tell me who you are, or I'll scream for them.” I hissed.
“I'm your betrothed.” He flashed a winning smiled at me.
“I don't have a fiancé.” I snapped.
“You've accepted my courtship offer.” He snagged my arm and pushed up my sleeve to reveal the snake bracelet.
“It attacked me!”
“It shouldn't have! Just wrapped around you.”
“Yeah, that's still an attack.”
“Look. Make the cookies and we'll talk. I promise to explain. I can remove the bracelet, but it will kill me.”
I narrowed my eyes at him again. “I'll let it slide until you explain. But you're helping me with the cookies.”
“What do you mean? They're delicious!”
“You get to roll them out and I'll put them in the oven.”
“You're so mean!” He pouted at me, but I could see the glimmer of amusement in his eyes.
“You're the one guilting me into marrying you without even telling me your name.” I pointed out.
“Oh! I am Loki, of Asgard.”
“Pull the other one. Gods aren't real.”
“Oh, but we are! You'll get to meet so many gods as my wife.” He beamed, then paused. “Granted, several of them tend to try and kill me, but they just don't have a sense of humor.”
“Wait, so am I in danger?”
“You’ll be afforded certain protections as my wife.” He assured before pausing. “I’m sorry. I’ve been assuming your pronouns because you’re female presenting. I forget most people can’t shift. Do you prefer she/her?”
“Yeah, actually. Thanks for asking. I’m cisgender.” I clarified.
“I’m genderfluid, but I’ll switch to present appropriately.” Loki told me with a grin. “So no guesswork involved.”
“Okay, cool. Thanks. Now back to the danger to my life, please?”
“There are certain protections afforded to you as my wife.”
“You said that. What does it mean?”
“I have magic and will put plenty of protections on the bracelet and any other jewelry you wear daily.” He explained, starting to roll out the cookies under my directions. “And if I'm around, I'm will take the attention, nine times out of ten.” He smirk was almost proud.
I hummed, fixing some of his cookies. “So I'll save your life, which I'm sure is great. But what do I get out of it?”
“There will be gifts. To start, after being alive for centuries, I do have quite a bit of human money and treasure, so I can fund you.”
“Fund me?”
“Anything. Your life, hobbies, trips, anything.”
“And all I have to do is marry you?”
“Correct. I will need to live with you, of course, to prove that this is a true marriage.”
“Do we have to consumate the marriage?”
“I won't ask that of you until you are comfortable.”
“So we're engaged until I am.”
“Yes! So are you in?”
“Your cube cookies will melt into the usual circles.”
”That's no fun. And you didn't answer me.”
I sighed. “I know. I'll marry you, but we will be setting up boundaries and rules for the house. I don't know you and I don't believe you are a god, so you'll have to earn my trust.”
“The fact that you're giving me the chance is enough.” He said seriously.
I hummed and put the tray of cookies in the oven. “Very well. You get to come up with a believable story as to how we meet and came to be engaged so quickly, because I'll have to explain it to my family and friends.”
“We've been dating for a while, just in secret.”
“That won't fly. Coffee? Tea?”
“What kind of tea? And why not?”
“I'm close to my family. They'd know if I was dating someone. What kind do you want?”
“Lemongrass? Then, hm. Online friend? That's something people do, right? And maybe it's a convenience thing?”
“Okay, that could work. But you're gonna have to get to know me real well real quick for it to be believable. I don't think I have lemongrass. How about ginger peach turmeric?”
“I could make that work. On both counts.”
“Great. I'll put the kettle on. Go sit in there and I'll bring the tea in.” I pointed at the couch. “And I'm also going to need information on why being engaged will save your life.”
“It's a long story.” He said, settling as I started the kettle.
“I have time. Sugar? Honey?”
“I'm not big on nicknames.”
“I meant in your tea, dumbass.”
“Sugar, then. And a lot of it.”
“Somehow that doesn't surprise me.” I rolled my eyes before bringing out two mugs of tea. I knew I wasn't any better, but still.
“Thank you darling.”
“I don't know you well enough for you to be calling me that.”
“I should get into practice.”
“Then you're getting nicknames too.”
“Ugh.” He grinned at me. “I suspect this is going to be a fun adventure.”
“It'd better be, to make up for preventing me from marrying anyone I may have picked.”
He looked at me for a moment. “I'm surprised someone your age isn't married already.”
“Ouch.” I shot him a glare.
“No, that didn't sound right.” He raised his hands defensively. “Last time I was on Midgard, humans older than 25 were considered old maids. I'm glad that's not the case anymore.”
“Oh, it is for some, but not here. It's more important to be happy then married.”
“Did you want to get married?”
“One day, with the right person. I also wouldn't mind having kids.”
“How do you feel about adopting?”
“Adoption is good. My brother is adopted. Not willing to give me kids of our own?”
“I actually already have kids. Will that be okay?”
“I'll want to meet them.”
“That will be difficult, but we can make it work.”
“Why?”
“They're imprisioned for crimes they didn't commit.” His expression was dark. “This might get one or two of them freed, if they promise ot behave with their new mother.”
“So they're adults?”
“Yeah. Have been for a couple centuries.”
“Hmm. Still don't believe you're a god.”
Loki smirked at me, put his cup down, and shapeshifted into an absolutely massive black snake. His head towered over me, despite us both being on the couch.
I stared at him with wide eyes, then put out a hand slowly to touch him. I gave plenty of time for him to give me a sign he didn't want contact, but he was so pretty as a snake. He butted his nose into my hand and slithered over to me, making himself comfortable in my lap. “This only proves you're a shapeshifter, not a god.” I told him, glad to stroke his smooth scales.

A Manor Of Spooks is located in an alternate reality, that is very much like the real world, but with magic!
This alternate reality is called UnderProgress: it is a world that is made of only Creator-made individuals, and those individuals fall into three factions!
Readers, Sona’s and OC’s.
Tumblr media
Each faction has its own defining characteristics and classifications.
Reader: A Reader is classified as a ‘blank’ insert that can be customized as a ‘viewer’ of UnderProgress. A Reader is also known to be called a Self-insert or Reader-insert.
Sona: Classified by being a representation of their Creator, sharing personality traits and will.
OC: OC’s are complete individuals with their own thoughts and will. They can be influenced by their Creator, but the OC has the final say in what they do.
Not only do we have the three factions, but we also have the three races.

Now that you are brought up to speed,

“May I please draw your OC?”
Reblog this message if you encourage anyone that wants to draw your OC to do so.  No need to ask for permission in advance.
Go for it.  Draw my OC.  If you want, I’ll even give you reference posts.  Go to town on it.
You are welcome to draw my OC and surprise me with the result.  Seriously.  In fact, I encourage it.  I will proudly display whatever it is you submit to me regarding my OC.  There is a chance that I will squeal about it for several days.
Even if you feel you aren’t good at whatever artistic adventure it is you do, please feel free to submit it to me.  I want to see what you have done.
