Scar decided to embrace his inner big cat and keep me stuck in the kitchen of Chez Remy. I was levelling him up for the final main story quests, but the way he positioned himself kept me from leaving. Even disabling my companion didn’t help matters!

And if that wasn’t enough big cat energy for you, just after I stopped recording that clip, he did this.

Eventually I just said bye to him and he eventually moved out of the way. But then the next day while I was gardening, he did this.

With the opening of the Forgotten Lands and Goofy’s Stall, I finally was granted access to pumpkins, the most valuable resource in Dreamlight Valley. Selling them on their own can make a pretty penny, but when cooked in the right way, your in-game wallet will be very happy.

It was at this point of my time with Felicity that I discovered that companions you collect in this game can be renamed! And with the June update adding levels and rewards, it made it all the more enticing to collect them all!

So for the past couple months I’ve been sinking a lot of time into Disney Dreamlight Valley—specifically, the Apple Arcade version on my Gen 6 iPad Pro.

I really wish I’d gotten into this a lot sooner ‘cause as an Animal Crossing veteran, this game does quite a lot I wish that Nintendo would do. Primarily with easier inventory management and a streamlined crafting and cooking process. Also helps that I’ve grown fond of many of these characters, some I adored from childhood. And one recent addition convinced me that it’s time to rebuild this valley. It also doesn’t help that my Facebook feed has been bombarded with the incredible creativity from other players across platforms.

You might notice I’m playing with a female avatar for this game. Well, I thought I’d take a page out of my brother’s playbook in New Horizons and roleplay as an OC. Or at least, a female version of myself. I’ll admit I’ve been open to playing as a girl a lot more recently, and I’ve honestly grown jealous of all the options for ladies earn for their wardrobe as opposed to my fellow gentlemen. Maybe chalk that up to Rarity’s influence from my Pony days. Plus, there’s a certain fashion feature in this game I’d really like to take a crack at when that’s eventually unlocked. As for her name, while it uses my Apple ID name (naturally my username), I think I’m gonna call her… Felicity. The English name for happiness, if you can believe that!

Ten images alone isn’t enough to express my appreciation, so expect to see a few more posts for a bit and in the future. I’m in this one for the long haul! Or at least until the next Animal Crossing arrives.
