We need to talk about how ling says that he's proud of lanfan right after roy calls her tough in the manga!

Too bad they didn't include this in the anime,I would've loved to see it.

Lanfan from the Fullmetal metal alchemist manga series:

In the manga Lanfan has trouble expressing proper etiquette, such as saying a simple "thank you", especially to those she would consider "lower" than Ling.

Fu's final appearance (where Ling and Lan Fan both take him back to Xing) is cut from the 2009 anime.In the manga it was Lan Fan who said: "Let's go home now, Grandfather."The anime does however, add a line by Ling who states they are.

Lanfan had a fight that didn't get animated and it was an awesome fight.(In chapters 37-38-39)

In conclusion

You're not missing too much necessarily plot wise by just watching Brotherhood, but obviously certain things have to be changed to animate better or fit the episode limit, so here and there are extra bits of characterization in the manga.

Honestly, in all the relationships above there’s almost no need for there to be a declaration of love- the bond they share transcends beyond that.

1)Roy mustang and riza hawkeye: a soldier and his subordinate

-Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

2)Toph and sokka: unrequited love

-Avatar the last airbender

3)Prince ling and lanfan: a foreign prince and his faithful shadow

-Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood

4)Steve and robin: coworkers/one sided love(formely)

-Stranger things

5)Conan and haibara: understanding teammates

-Detective conan

6)Lake and jesse: travel buddies

-Infinity train

Just because their love ended up being platonic does not mean that their story is not a love story.While underlining the importance of platonic love,we got the most iconic,unforgettable and cutest love stories.

I'm not saying that romantic relationships shouldn't exist,they should coexist,but it's just really great to see these six relationships helping show what can be achieved in stories about friendship between men and women.
