Worth mentioning too that sanitation is not safe work. It is statistically more dangerous than firefighting, statistically more dangerous than being a soldier. It has gotten very marginally safer in recent years, but sanitation work remains one of the most hazardous jobs it's possible to have.
It's absolutely essential work, and it's incredibly risky, and at least in the area where I live, the average wage is -- above minimum wage, certainly, but not by a lot. Nobody is becoming fabulously rich off their work as a garbage collector, despite the fact they're doing dangerous work that we cannot survive without.

pro censorship people are always like “actually I’m living proof that books can be really harmful to kids! when I was a child I read a book that upset me and of course I couldn’t talk to my parents about it because they would throw rocks at me whenever I confessed to reading anything but the Bible, so as you can see, that book was the source of my trauma and warped ideas about right and wrong”

thanks for the comments and asks saying i'm being mean for very mildly saying i don't like when people make social decisions based on horoscopes.
your behavior has made me realize i should be "meaner": horoscopes are fake.
the position of planets and balls of gas did not in any way impact your personality or destiny. it has nothing to do with what kind of people you are compatible with, despite what an app or magazine told you.
i think sincere belief in horoscopes shows a concerning propensity to trust pseudoscience and a susceptibility to confirmation bias.
i'm pretty tired of having to tiptoe around this kind of thing and include disclaimers. if you genuinely think you shouldn't be friends with someone because of the date they came out of a uterus, you're being a clown.

Because it is such a good summary of Yamato's character. Just A+ work understanding the character there.
Yamato is gruff, and rough with people, he uses 'ore' with a noticeably rolled 'r' even when talking to adults, he starts fights and he likes them and is good at fighting, he's noted to be good at sports and is an insanely strong swimmer, he gets a motorbike, he's one of only two boys with a male voice actor in 01 (the other being Jyou). He is by any reckoning, the most Traditionally Masculine™ rough bad boy character in Digimon.
He also likes playing music to soothe and comfort people, and he's a sensitive artist who loves learning about new ways of playing music. He's the only Chosen shown to have an interest in cooking, and specifically not as an exercise of skill but as an expression of caring and nurturing for other people. He is exactly as proud of his ability to cook and clean and take care of people as he is of his ability to fight. He feels things strongly and his preferred method for dealing that is being alone and thinking things over. He's more emotionally intelligent than Taichi, and he uses that emotional intelligence to care for other people. A big part of his character arc is becoming willing to cry, a moment which is framed as triumphant, which allows him to more effectively care for other people, and which is never framed as being a bad thing or a knock against his masculinity.
(Not to mention, he'll start fights with Taichi, who's his equal at fighting and enjoys it as well, but not once does he even suggest aggression towards Koushiro, Sora, Mimi, or Jyou, who either wouldn't be able to fight back and wouldn't enjoy it (Koushiro, Mimi, Jyou), or would be able to fight back but would hate every second of it (Sora). And the idea that he'd ever get aggressive towards Takeru or Hikari is absurd.)
And that's important because, as with a lot of Adventure characters, there's a commentary being made there. This is a series aimed at kids aged maybe 6-10, and each of the Chosen is intended to make a point aimed at those kids. That Yamato is a Cool Manly Guy who is also emotionally caring, nurturing, sensitive, and intuitively understands and respects people's boundaries is a very intentional choice.
(Also, he's clearly modelled after a wolf. Wolves are fierce, and they can be terrifying creatures, but they're also fearful and curious, and very caring and gentle towards members of their pack.)
A positive ask for you. 😊 What draws you to Yamato as a character? Asking totally not in a passive aggressive way, but in a ‘let’s squee together’ way, fangirl to fangirl. 💙
Hello!
I literally just got the exact same ask and I answered here
It feels weird that I'm kind of low key satisfied that I got that hateful anon ask because now it helped me talk about my boy lol🤣

AC Odyssey really tried to pull a “Don’t you feel bad about all the people you killed?” in one of the DLCs.
You made a mercenary character. From Sparta. Who participated in repressing a slave rebellion. In the story you created on purpose. What are you talking about.

playing erdtree with my pal we get invaded by someone named "Drip Inspector" and im like "waitwaitwait. ok lets just pose leaning back to back and wait for them to show up maybe our outfits will be so good they wont kill us"
so we wait until they show up and then they get reaaaal close to us . and then pull out their telescope and start circling around us and zooming in for a good 30 seconds. then they clap, use the "wonderful" and "youre beautiful" prattling pates, and jump off a cliff. invader vanquished

the cultural object of the black hole is kind of remarkable. It's almost an anti-God in a sense, a negative infinity. Yeah there's this kind of dead sun that's collapsed into an infinitely dense point, and if you fall past its event horizon you're fucked. Every schoolchild knows this. A black hole can be introduced in a superhero blockbuster without any explanation except for its established look and the name "black hole", and this will be understood as the ultimate natural disaster, which even superman could not hope to defeat. truly S-tier cosmic object
