Kate sighs and smiles when America pulls away. It almost felt unreal. Maybe she had grown used to being alone - with the exception of Clint and Lucky. Other than that, Kate hadn’t been around anyone else she considered close. Sighing, she folds her arms over her chest and watches the other, smiling.

“I know, I know, but…I am so glad to see you, America.”

“And just so you know, this place sucks. Obviously it’s not like home, but it’s kinda like home? I don’t know - it all depends on where you go.” Rubbing the back of her head, she gives America a shrug. Lowering her arm, she scoffs and waves her arm.

“Of course I’m the better Hawkeye - I just have my nights is all. Anyway, that guy sucks. I think he stole someone’s purse, but…I guess I can let it slide.” She gives the other another smile before reaching out and rubbing the other’s arm.

“Coffee?”

As if America Chavez didn’t have enough of an ego already, hearing Kate was so glad to see her only continued to inflate it. “The feeling is mutual, chica.” a slight nod sent Kate’s way as America continued with a small smile that quickly turned into a more confused expression on the other’s explanation of this place.

“You really know how to brighten up a situation, huh? -- Seems you’re doing alright here, though, so that’s one positive on this.” 

It wasn’t long before she was back to her usual smirk, despite the hell of an amount of crazy this whole situation was, America was glad to have someone like Kate along for the ride.

A loud spout of laughter quickly escaped her on Kate’s insistence on being the better Hawkeye, patting her on the back before lessening the level of amusement currently on her face.

“Yeah, yeah. You’ll always be top Hawkeye to me. -- You took a pretty dramatic fall there though, Princess. You alright?” a brief pause and a faint shake of her head in disbelief that they’ve gone from crook pursuing to coffee, she doesn’t mind though.

“Coffee sounds great, know any good places?”

She was meant to be indestructible, untouchable, unbeatable. Ms.America represented the Best of the Best, the toughest of the tough yet here she was, sat on a crate of oranges letting some random stranger patch up a rather nasty gash on her leg caused by a particularly nasty crook and his equally nasty knife.

  “Hey -- Ouch !! Does this stuff usually sting so much?!” a sharp hiss of pain escapes her, so used to only a few bruises and on the rare occasion being really badly beaten up to the point where everything hurts so she didn’t have to focus on one specific injury.

“This is such a pain in the ass I hate guys like that -- SHIT. Fuck it. I hate guys in general. No offence to you. Just some of you are sneaky little shits.”

  “....Thanks for this, by the way. I owe you pizza.”

Was this her blood? She wasn’t really sure. Many punches were thrown and the chaos was constant -- At some point, America didn’t even know who or what she was hitting...Just that she was winning.

The thing that stung the most was the fact she wasn’t at her full potential, she should be the untouchable Ms.America. But here she was, accepting someone else’s help in getting rid of some unwanted stains.

          “....I appreciate this.” was it hot in here or was it just her?

Sometimes America had tough days, sometimes she could punch them off or sleep her worries away. But sometimes they got to her...Just a little. She’s too hardcore to let something as trivial as feelings get the best of her, obviously.

So when she’s greeted by a brick wall of red, white and blue it’s common sense that her first instinct is to kick whatever it is - But then she realises it’s her patriotic pal offering a (much needed) hug.

   “Uh.” though she’s somewhat muffled by fabric, America is certain he can probably still hear her.

           “This thing you’re doing? It’s weird.”
