I really really loved the blatant parallel between Delena and Steroline this episode.

Caroline and Stefan  won’t do something “bad,” even if it means saving someone they love.

While Damon and Elena will both do whatever it takes to save the person they love, no matter the cost.

I’m not trying to say one is better than the other, just how glaringly obvious it is who belongs with who. And how the show is not even trying to be subtle about it.

But they were naked and awake for three hours, laying silently just listening to each other sleep, just enjoying each other’s presence, not wanting to leave,not wanting to move, because moving would ruin it, moving would take away the silence, moving meant they had to speak, had to end it, and neither one of them was ready for that. FOR THREE HOURS NEITHER ONE OF THEM WAS READY.

So yeah, I am oddly very OK with that “let me go” break up because during it, it was centered around the fact that they still do want each other.  Not just sexually either.  Because Elena stressed, “taking you hand” “kissing you” and those are about love, not lust.  

To be honest, I feel this might be the beginning of the healing process and the rebuilding.
