Can we talk about when in the Dunne's isle Xaden and then a just few minutes later Dain were both negotiating weapons for the fight, Violet joined then quite a few moments later because she was talking to the old lady, but as soon as Xaden realised Violet is fighting too, Xaden and Dain immediately settled on daggers?
Like zero hesitation, no questions asked plus ignored everything they must've talked about before she stood with them?

Crazy thought
Brennan uses the last name of Aisereigh. I wonder if that was his lovers (aka Naolin) last name and that's why he used it? I know in IF Violet said Brennan last name meant "resurrection" but I also feel like maybe it's more then that..

A theory for FW and OS. Spoliers ahead.
So we know that Llith controlled the weather. Especially in Basgiath. Its made clear in Onyx storm that the bad weather in Basigath is due to Lilith not being around to control it.
"I can't remember a more brutal series of storms than the ones that have battered the war college in the last two weeks, but without-"
We also know that Theophanie and Lilith are the balance to each other. Much like Xaden and Lynx who is able to wield Shadows.
"Nature likes everything in balance"
We also see Llilth use her powers in Iron Flame to be used as a conductor for Violet's Lighting. Showing the Balance of Violet and her Mother's signet.
"It's her way of Imbuing her favorite weapon. Me."
There is another moment at the very beginning of Fourth Wing when Violet is walking the Parapet, where it starts storming, Rain and Lighting. Lighting as a foreshadowing to violet signet as she finds comfort in it. She also really enjoys storms, and the shadows. A hint to her and Xaden being a match
"I've always loved the nights where storms beat against the fortress window, both illuminating and throwing shadows over the books I curled up with, though this downpour might just cost me my life"
Why was it storming in the first place? Was it Lilith? I'm starting to think that Violet going into the quadrant, was expected and someone was trying to get her killed from the start. But why? At this point Violet had yet to get her signet. She was also known as the weakest child. But, the way Asher talked in Onyx storm, it seemed like all three children were in danger from the beginning.
This is feeding into my whole, someone sent Jack to kill Violet from the beginning theory. I wonder if it was Theophanie? The strom stops the moment Violet gets across.

Onyx storm spoiler!
Okay soooooo I'm going through all three books and putting things in place. The first time we see Colonel Daxton's guide is in Fourth wing chapter 19 about the Archives. Asher has been with us since the beginning of these books.

*Onyx storm spoilers ahead* for violet and Xaden
Alright here it is. I finished this book in a little under 12 hours of getting it in my hand. And let's just say it was a fucking Rollercoaster of emotions. But I loved it. I really liked Iron flame as well. But this one was amazing. I know we all have mixed feelings about the ending. I honestly really enjoyed it. So here are some of my thoughts now that I have had time to process.
1. Xaden is the fucking best and I simp for him. But i don't like how he keeps foreshadowing his death. Him turning Vennin i saw coming. Honestly every time he channled I was yelling at him. But, how he was for violet this book made my heart ache. He loves her so much. He would do anything for her. Xaden, also needs to beat the shit out of Halden. If he can't i will take Violet doing it herself. I knew he would eventually leave too. What got me though was all the planning he did to ensure that violet and Tyrrendor would be taken care off. The man literally left his heart behind. Marrying Violet i saw from the moment he said "she would make a wonderful duchess" he was going to put a ring on that finger at some point. I just didn't realize it would happen in this book.
2. Violet the women you are. I love Violet and i don't get why people hate on her as much as they do. Violet is still learning to navigate the world and you can definitely see that but now she is stepping into a much bigger role. Now she will need to lead people. ThankfuIly Breannan is there and hopefully Mira will help violet as well. Plus she has the squad and all the marked one on her side. One thing, I need her to stop being so damn self sacrificing. She needs to be more confident in her choices and ability. I'm happy xaden took a step back this book and let her lead and command. It really showed how ruthless and cunning she can be. That she is kind but can put people in their fucking place. So here is my hope for the next book. She better not! Turn into Bella and shut down cause Xaden isn't there!!!!! I accept her taking a few days to really get through her feelings of him leaving. But I want her to command and fight . For her to look for him and save him!!! Also, everything that was going on with Asher Sorrengail was insane. But i need a explanation on if Vi is Vennin or Dunnes. Did dad give her to the Temple to save her life? Or stopping her from turning Vennin????

I'm never doing a pre-order from Amazon again. It said it was suppose to be delivered today. It's coming through to USPS (I know there is bad weather) they had the package since yesterday night did delivers today and now it's not coming till thursday. My mom works for the post office and I get it. I pre-order this book over a year ago when they announced it and now I won't get it till the end of the week. I'm freaking pissed and really disappointed. I checked every where near me and no one has any copies. This so frustrating.
If this book goes missing.......

My biggest Empyrean theory is that the dragons are actively bonding relatives of previous riders.
So that there are more riders with second signets because they know the war is getting and they need the strength. The whole going mad thing is fake maybe and just a way to prevent too many riders from getting too powerful (or they are taking the risk).
Convinced in Fourth Wing when Liam talks with Violet about his father that they altered family history, just like Xaden noted his grandfather was recorded as his great uncle instead.

I completely agree with this. Violet does a lot of things that are questionable. I'm not going to defend her just give a different perspective. Violet and Xaden both are horrible at communication. One needs to know everything, while other keeps secrets to protect the ones they love. They both need to grow into the relationship and figures out what works.
Now, violet i think people forget this, does need to know everything, especially stuff that will get her killed and anything she feels is important. Hence that scribe Mind. When in a relationship where you are dating you are getting to know the person you can take time and weed through those secrets. But unfortunately for them, they don't have that time. Like xaden admits in Iron flame there is knifes in the closet. Secrets that can hurt her. That will hurt her. Xaden won't allow it to kill her, but that doesn't stop them from hurting.
About Cat, well not everyone has a interest in knowing about other people Exs. Once they are in a relationship. It shouldn't matter. And it didn't. She states that it shouldn't matter cause they are a ex. Someone that came before for. It became important, once she realized that said Cat still had feelings for xaden. Xaden wanted to brush it under the rug. Even if she had ask at the beginning he wouldn't have told her shit. Just simply "She is my Ex and nothing to worry about" He knew Cat would be a problem and still didn't say anything until absolutely necessary. Even about the engagement. Which he knew Cat would bring up eventually.
Violets problem with Xaden is that he keeps on side stepping conversations. (Which violet starts doing too to avoid fighting) because he wants her to figure it out or ask him direct questions. She feels that if they want to work this relationship, there has to be complete honesty. Which is hard for all relationships.
Xaden on the other hand, sees Violet for what she is. Smart as hell. He understands her need for information, so he provides it when asked. But won't say it unless she asks, because he wants to keep her safe. He also doesn't know what the fuck he is doing. Lol it's his first real relationship. And Violet is insecure. Which Xaden is trying to help with that confidence (at least he thinks he is). Plus he feels like they don't need full honesty to make things work. They just need to trust each other in keeping each other safe.
At the end of the day, they are both flawed characters. But they love each other deeply. Xaden is holding back on Violet because he feels like that is the right thing to do. She shouldn't have to ask and he knows it. But he wants her to figure it out. Violet needs to know everything, because for so long she has allowed the truth to be kept from her. She was walking blindly just following what she was told.
I hope this gave you a extra layer to look at. I'm not saying Violet or Xaden are right. The miscommunication is all apart of growing as characters. And by the end of IF they have. They are communicating (though not 100% effectively) but they can work through the differences.
Ok, I need to get this out before we have Onyx Storm out on Tuesday.
If you are in the camp that Violet does no wrong, you may not enjoy. But, if not, I need someone to hear me out, so you're it beautiful people of Tumblr.
I need to know why in IF Violet cannot let go of the 'I don't know him' bull. Like girl, you asked I believe 3 personal questions the entire time of FW. How pray tell did you think you would get to know him after 3 questions?!?
You have a mind link. You can chat as if a cellphone is attached to your brain all damn day and night.
It's been a while since I've been in the dating scene, but when you were/are falling for someone, don't you want to know everything about them personally? More than just sibling count, favorite food, and where you were on one particular night.
I could honestly think of about 10 questions that would have been open-ended enough that could have gotten that man to talk. What about his favorite color? Favorite childhood memory? His dad is a sore spot, ask about favorite place he visited? What did he want to be when he grew up?
Did you never talk while training on the mat? While flying? You just spent every hour with the man in an instructional way or lusting after him???
In IF, it was a big deal that the cadre was keeping them apart, however, besides when her squad was drugged for RSC, why couldn't they talk mind to mind in Samara? You mean to tell me he blocked you out and didn't get any breaks for food to chit chat when he was on 24hr duty?
The first time he came back to Basgiath, he sharpened weapons and it seemed like there was a several hour time lapse. What did you do just stare at each other?
And I'm aware Xaden could've asked things too. But he wasn't the one making a big deal out of 'I need information to center myself'.
The man starts writing you letters and you have no damn questions for him, even after the letters.
Bodhi mentions Cat, but how long does it take for her to bring it up. If it were me, that would have been the first thing out of my mouth when I saw him next.
Sometimes it just frustrates me how it's always about Violet's attraction to Xaden physically, but I feel a lack in the actual pull just for the man he is because she never asks about him - even before the end of FW.
Don't get me wrong, I know Violet's going through it and she's got a lot to make sense of. If anything, getting to know him better would take your mind off of everything else going on.
On top of that, her mom is a General, she should be more than aware that she can't know every single detail. Brennan even told her the Assembly kept things from Xaden, so he didn't know everything. She isn't new to the military life, and between the scroll that drops and the missives in her mom's office they never hear of, it should be clear they are getting a very watered down version of everything going on.
Just ugh....I'll stop there. If you've read this far, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, just needed to get that out. Also, another snippet will be coming out tomorrow!

"I'm reading the Empyrean series for the plot"
The plot ->

My fav ship in this whole series:

"crush our human" 😭💀

Tairn becoming her adoptive father is everything.

Teenage, moody Andarna is my favorite thing.

God I love him... it's crazy how much.

What they say? Like father, like daughter?
