HP Character Edits: Angus Buchanan (Born 15 of January, 1847)

"Angus Buchanan became world-famous among wizards whilst also being celebrated among Muggles, a hitherto unknown achievement. Wizards of many nationalities began turning up to watch him play sport."

Angus Buchanan was a Squib born into the Pure-blood Buchanan family, in a village in the Scottish Borders. He grew up in a household comprised of an overworked mother, a fierce father, and ten siblings (He was the third son). 

For the first and only time in history, a Squib was among the crowd of first-years about to be Sorted. In sheer desperation, Angus threw himself ahead of a girl whose name had been called, and placed the Sorting Hat upon his head. The Hat announced kindly that he was "a good-hearted chap, but no wizard", and the boy left the hall in tears.

Angus went back home on foot, where he was met by his humiliated father who had already received a flurry of owls about what had happened. Mr Buchanan senior barred his entrance, bade him to go away, and fired curses after Angus as he fled.

Without family or money, Angus Buchanan walked to the capital, Edinburgh, occasionally hitching rides on carts. Once there he was taken in by a kind Muggle foreman and his wife who did not have children of their own. He then worked as a labourer.

Angus Buchanan found his greatest pleasure in athleticism, and soon became adept at rugby, a then relatively new Muggle sport. 

In 1871, he was part of the his country's team in the first-ever international rugby match between Scotland and England. Angus scored the first try and Scotland won the match. The sporting career that followed made him celebrated among Muggles.

He reevaluated his relationship with his magical roots following this reunion with his family. In 1900, he published an immensely successful autobiography titled My Life as a Squib. The book brought the plight of the Squibs to the wizarding world's attention — Squibs had, until that point, always lived in the shadows: cast between the wizarding world, where they did not fit in and always felt second-class, and the Muggle society, in which they had to bitterly cut all ties to wizards. Buchanan's life story, however, showed that it was possible to succeed in life despite all those hardships he had been subjected to.

Imagine that in the next generation one of the walls in the great hall shone and glimmered like stars.

Imagine what the first years thought as they caught a glimpse of the wall, and imagine how cool they thought a starry wall was, but what about when they got closer? What then?

What happened when they realised that the wall wasn’t actually made up of stars but that all along the wall were the names of every one who had fought and died in the Battle of Hogwarts, and surrounding the names were the signatures of each graduating class since that day.

Imagine kids coming in and searching for there grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters and cousins signatures on the wall.

Imagine being a seventh year and finally signing your name on the wall, you’ve waited so long and dreamed of this day since you first saw the wall and finally you’re up there.

Imagine first year Teddy Lupin finding the names of his parents on the wall.

Imagine him signing his name right beside theirs, finally feeling like they’re a family. Finally feeling like he’s home.

ALL questions pottermore patronus test

I stumbled upon this reddit post whose author uses data from this post to create a quiz featuring ALL the questions from the pottermore patronus test to give you your “best fit” patronus. 

As we know with the ilvermorny and hogwarts tests, there is a huge difference in accuracy when comparing a quiz with all the questions available vs when taking it on pottemore with a limited and varying questions, and a lot of people were unhappy with their patronus because they thought it didn’t fit their personality. 

So, if you want to retake the patronus test or see the patronus you would receive in a 38 question quiz rather than a 5 question quiz, click here.

Side note: don’t be afraid to click none if neither answer feels right, it makes the answer more accurate for your personality

Sirius was lounging in his chair at his ease, tilting it back on two legs. He was very good-looking, his dark hair fell into his eyes with a sort of casual elegance neither James’s nor Harry’s could ever have achieved, and a girl sitting behind him was eyeing him hopefully, though he didn’t seem to have noticed.
