ERASE the idea that America saved lives by dropping two atomic bombs on Japan from your minds. ERASE the idea that it was anything more than a political move to scare Russia and also to satiate US curiosity as to the true ability of nuclear weapons. Nagasaki and Hiroshima were not military bases. They were heavily populated civilian cities chosen precisely bc the U.S. wanted to see how many people an atomic bomb could kill in one go. Japan was on the verge of surrendering, the U.S. literally wanted to test out their nuclear weapons on people that they deemed disposable. That is it. If those bombs were dropped by any nation other than the US veryone involved would have been tried as war criminals.

So, I'm a Christian and a tech person and that means that at a few churches I've been in the position of running the slideshows. Let me tell you: Proclaim (slideshow software) is an insane piece of software

It's an impressively expressive professional slideshow program, but it has video, audio, lighting control, multi-monitor output support.

You can insert a song and restructure it to "verse 1, chorus, chorus" all with a single line of text.

Insert Bible verse? Yes.

I've seen so many churches that use this, and it's impressive what some of them have done with it.

All this to say: If we want FOSS to take over (as it should), these quality softwares are what we're up against.

Also, at every event you go to, tell someone in the staff to pass a "thank you" or "good job" to the tech crew. They really appreciate it.

I have an odd desire to steal things

Like, I’m not trying to be different or “cool” or anything, it’s an urge. I don’t know why, but there’s a satisfaction that comes with it.

For this challenge, you must go an hour of looking through the best reference pics without touching the sketchpad or pencil. If you fail, the device strapped to your hands will systematically break each of your fingers over the course of 5 minutes. Good luck.

Never use Surfshark VPN

I just wanted to make this post to warn yall about it, I am not a tech genius but I wanted to get a vpn and surfshark was one I knew about so i subscribed to them because it seemed ok, that was where I fucked up.

fast forward a year and now I am trying to cancel my yearly auto-renewing subscription which costs 70 fuckin bucks, didnt find much use in surfshark as it was too laggy when using its vpn services so i go to billing and try to cancel.

there was no cancel button so that was odd, and you cant turn off auto-renew so i figure ill just get rid of my card info so it cant charge me.

i cant or at least i cant figure out how.

I go to help and find the cancellation area after scrolling past why you should keep the subscription and it tells me to contact their live support to cancel, It requires my name and gmail, I know for a fact my gmail is correct but it says its wrong and that my name is wrong no matter how many ways I enter it and I cant find a possible username anywhere on the site i could use. Its for all practical reasons impossible for me to cancel, not just the fact I cant even talk to customer support, but the people on reddit that do, talk to a bot and then the agents take months to actually turn off the subscription so it charges again and there is no refunds.
