This applies to my theory after playing Chapter 1 and beginning Chapter 2 of Deltarune. I have no context other than those chapters, so please don’t spoil me! Thank you.

Ramblings about my theory and thoughts below! 👇💖✨

A theory I have by finishing Chapter 1 and beginning Chapter 2 is that Kris cannot eat while being controlled by the player.

Since it’s a video game to us, as long as the player is using them as a vessel, they cannot eat, so they took the soul, aka us, out to eat. It’s a horrifying reality to think about.

The only time the player really lets them eat is in the Dark World, which they get no nutrients from. This is shown by Susie’s dialogue I believe.

I feel so terrible for Kris. This poor kid being used as a vessel for our gameplay… it’s a terrible feeling.

We didn’t even want to choose them as a vessel in the first place, but we were forced to.

We’re just stuck in this situation together and clearly Kris has it the worst.

I’m curious to see how this’ll be expanded upon in the coming chapters. I’m playing blindly right now and I’m so excited about what’s ahead! 🙏💖✨
