the todoroki siblings are all different in how their trauma effected them. they all went through the same things, the same abuses, just to different levels than the other.

shouto is indifferent to people and doesn't understand love, but he understands hatred. he understands that he hates his father and is scared of his mother. he uses that hatred to fuel himself and to push himself to be a better hero than his father.

Natsuo is angry, but not in an all consuming way. he hates his father as well for what he put shouto through and for what happened to touya. natsuo goes on to live his life and goes into the medical field, even having a girlfriend and living a normal life.

fuyumi is extremely maternal, after being forced to mother shouto after endeavor took their mom away. fuyumi is caring and sweet and desperate for a family that she's seen others have.

touya.. became dabi. he fed into his hatred and wanted to destroy endeavor wholly and truly for everything he'd done to him. touya even hated shouto for being a hero too. he ended up having all heroes and refusing to believe that any are truly good because of what he went through.

they all took it differently and it made them who they are.

Pro hero AU:

Pro hero Dabi, with half red and half white hair, and his brother Shouto, with half white and half red hair, annoying the shit out of other heroes.

It doesn’t help that their about the same height (with Shouto only slightly taller) and both have mastered the “blank face, no expression” type of humor. Only Touya will start cackling when the joke is over and Shouto will remain completely serious.

Sometimes, they will even switch their spiky and smooth hairstyles and further aggravate whoever they team up with. Bakugo calls them “Half and Half Bastards.”

Eventually, Endeavor sends Touya to Hawks’ Agency because he needs to split the chaotic duo up somehow. He ends up regretting sending Touya because, when he returns home for their weekly family dinner, all Touya can talk about is how annoying Hawks is. Followed by how cute Hawks is. Followed by how much he wants to tease Hawks. Followed by “Hey, did you know he chirps sometimes?”

Shouto: “Three years.”

Touya: “Hm? What did you say brat?”

Shouto: “I said three years. That’s how long it’s going to take you to ask Hawks out.”

Touya: “Wha-? Why would I ask that dumb chicken out?! And why would it take three years?!”

Shouto: “Because you’re a loser and a drama queen and a procrastinator. Therefore, three years.”

Fuyumi: “Boys, please don’t fight in front of the mapo tofu. Remember when we had to scrape it off the ceiling?”

Touya: “You’ll be scraping Shouto off the ceiling if he doesn’t shut his yap!”

Izuku, who is also there: “Umm…. If it helps Dabi-san, it took Shouto and me five years to get together?”

Touya: “HA! I WIN!”

Shouto: “You haven’t even done anything yet!”

Endeavor: is this what hell feels like?

I also want to say that "The Wrong Way to Put Out a Fire" is a genius title because one wrong way to put out a fire is to ignore it.

Izuku is definitely getting his arms back. Mainly because of what HANDS symbolize within mha.

Hands are how they reach out,how they save people,even those who don't 'deserve' it. And being able to reach out is how people become ACTUAL heroes.

We know Katsuki had this revelation,

And isn't interesting a lot of moments when people are displaying moments of true heroism that they say something about reaching?

But,how is Izuku going to get his arms back? Well...ERI.

She wasn't able to come the last few chapters,mainly because she was recharging her quirk and there wasn't a way for her to get there. Though,with this new chapter having Aizawa using Kurogiri so can Eri,

And the last concern about her being there was she would only distract Izuku or get in his way,but with Sero,Aizawa,and other people showing up to help,Eri could definitely heal Izuku without it being a problem.

Also,who wants to bet a certain explosive hero will show up? Since Katsuki seems to show up the most when Izuku is in utter shit.

(why does Katsuki do the splits???? I've seen this a billion times,but I didn't even realize this man was doing the splits. Does it make it to where he has more balance? Or his he just being his weird pose body self??)

Touya realizing he always had part of his mom's quirk, but it happening at the expense of abusing his body and soul so bad it almost killed him.

Tenko realizing his quirk was not even his own and he could have undone what he did by accident to his family if he had been given the chance, but all the misery in his life was manipulated to be there.

Touya and Tenko insisting that they could be the best heroes around if allowed to be— but either their relative gave up or they were held back by a hidden evil power.

Touya and Tenko accepting their identities as beings who can only destroy and getting new names to represent that belief.

The change of hair color. The self-destructive tendencies and self-mutilations. The tears they couldn't cry.

The way Touya and Tenko tried to explain to their families how they felt, but it didn't work. Later, both of them came to resent their siblings for not being able to save them while still missing them and wishing for their company.

Both kids being aware of how cowardly their families were. Their fathers hated them and no other kid would get it, so why tell them?

Only Tenko and Touya would know what each other went through.

So we're all aware of the running joke that Izuku does not remember the iconic river scene,

This one right here. The one that Katsuki is constantly referring back to as "the moment where it all went wrong" and being all dramatic about. His core memory of Izuku being a hero.

But I raise you this... Katsuki does not remember this scene,

This is the scene where a young Katsuki has just finished winning a fight against some older kids that were being bullies.

The scene that is Izuku flashes back to when thinking about Katsuki's heroic nature.

Because Katsuki does not remember a time when he stood up to Bullies instead of being one.

It’s beautiful and humbling and incredible that Izuku still wants Katsuki after all the bullshit, but it is also a form of poetic cruelty that, after all his efforts to thwart it, Katsuki also wants Izuku after all the bullshit. Like Izuku looks like a model victim in the situation, and in a lot of ways he is, but he has in fact inadvertently worn Katsuki down for almost the entirety of their lives to the point that it feels pretty suspect to believe that Katsuki could accept anybody else on the same intimate level as Izuku. Izuku chose to admire and follow Katsuki pretty much every day despite it all and Katsuki chose to tell him to go the fuck away pretty much every day and only now is it even remotely clear to Katsuki that in this key struggle, Izuku has won out. Like Katsuki’s lost this one big time and he doesn’t even know it yet

Like I don’t give a shit if you ship it romantically but there’s undeniably an Izuku-shaped hole in Katsuki’s heart and soul formed by and because of the slow erosion of their relationship and nobody else can fill it. They are not “soulmates” or “twin stars” because they were born to be together - they, and the reality of their environments and circumstances, beat the shit out of each other emotionally and physically until they were formed to mirror and fit into one another like puzzle pieces because it was the only possible shape they could take. It’s tragic. It’s lovely. It’s hilarious. It is schadenfreude at its finest. It is the epitome of a crazy, stupid, borderline unbelievable yet emotionally visceral love conquers all story and it’s about snot-nosed teenaged fanboys
