Amnesia. I've been obsessed with them getting amnesia since day 1. I've always liked the trope but something about them makes it better than usual. Adult Ranpo dealing with a Fukuzawa who doesn't know him, or 45!Fuku lost without Ranpo and trying to win him over... 💘

Ranpo worrying about whether he can crack Fukuzawa's shell and make Fukuzawa like him again (it's easier than the first time) and so, SO tempted to overstep with Fukuzawa not knowing who he is to know why he should refuse-

45!Fuku struggling to handle a Ranpo who doesn't feel compelled to do as he asks and constantly hits on him 😂

For fun tumblr-exclusive content, here are short summaries of some of my amnesia WIPs:

Sci-fi space AU, Alpha Ranpo/Omega Fukuzawa: Fukuzawa is kidnapped minutes after a blow to the head wipes his memory. Ranpo tracks him down through space for a year and mates him the moment he finds him. Except Fukuzawa already turned him down, oh no! The fic takes place as they journey back home (Ranpo dealing with a lot of guilt and Fukuzawa, amnesic, surprisingly unbothered by having a mate he doesn't know)

In which the world fell apart, Fukuzawa lost his memories, and gifted are outlawed, hunted, and traded much like the weapons Ranpo now deals in. + In which Ranpo finally finds Fukuzawa years after the downfall and unnatural resurrection of society and sets about carefully recapturing his heart.

26 Ranpo accusing 32 Fukuzawa of a crime knowing damn well he didn't do it just to see him squirm and manipulate him into working on the case with Ranpo to clear his name 🥰 Could be hilarious as a deaging/amnesia fic where Fukuzawa comes around after the case and is just like. "Ranpo. You are sleeping on the couch for the rest of the YEAR."

Ranpo gets amnesia. He decides to pretend he's fine and goes to the office (address found in his phone) where he deduces he's married to the boss and kisses him passionately in front of everyone. Fukuzawa's reaction just makes him think they don't do PDA.

World falls apart, Ranpo gets amnesia. His face also gets messed up, so he wears a mask. Fukuzawa, who's been despondent without him, has no idea it's him for half the plot.

Not true amnesia, but Fukuzawa getting deaged to a time before he knew Ranpo and being very confused by his life

Also not true amnesia, but Fukuzawa getting deaged to a child irreversibly and having to be raised again. No one tells him what happened, so when he falls in love with Ranpo without knowing Ranpo has been in love with him for more years than he knows he's been alive there's lots of drama

I've only managed to finish one of my ideas (and also I couldn't tag for amnesia because it's a spoiler), but it's here, information on it under the cut

I've shipped them since the anime came out in 2016, I just wasn't into the series enough to write for them until s4. Fukuzawa shares his EN VA with ToV Duke, 37 year old GNC king, so I was looking for any excuse to ship Fukuzawa with someone - and then the praise scene happened.

As for how I came back, I played Vesperia again in mid 2022 and remembered BSD. Got into it, rewatched the whole series, and then Bones decided to announce s4 basically the day I finished my rewatch and that was it for me (I was praying they'd adapt origins and THEY DID)
