Whilst I agree with most of this... “if you are not ready to put someone else’s needs first every day for x years” PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t talk yourself out of having kids if this applies... Was I ready? Is anyone really ready? Be suspicious of anyone who tells you they are bc actually how the hell do you even know you are ready for something that is a million miles away from any reality you’ve ever had until you are there? Nature has a very clever way of getting you there. Pregnancy starts to get you ready, the gargantuan but mind-blowingly wonderful effort it requires to deliver a small human, the milestones, smiles and tears that newborns, toddlers, pre-schoolers, bring you they are all guiding you. You can do it and if you stop (ha! when?) and think you will be amazed at what you can do.

And if you worry you are not mentally strong enough there is no drug that touches the get up and go you instinctively find when you have to put others first. Days I would not have been able to get out of bed previously, I’ve cooked, cleaned, prepped school bags, sports bags, packed lunches, listened to reading, wiped faces, patched up cuts, cajoled into clothes, laughed, hugged, did I say laughed bc omg and all before 8am. I can’t remember what life was like before my 2 (still just 7 and 5) came along but I know if I’d read the OP’s list before they did they probably wouldn’t be here.

PLEASE don’t have children

-If you are not financially independent.

-If you are mentally ill without consistent means of treatment

-If you cannot afford doctor’s bills

-If the thought of having a gay, trans, or nonbinary child makes you upset.

-If the cant accept having to care for a child with a disability or special needs.

-If the thought of having a fat child makes you upset.

-If you have a bad/short temper

-If you’re in an abusive relationship

-If you’re not ready to put someone else’s needs first, EVERY SINGLE DAY, for 18 years.

-If you have an ideal of what this person is going to be like and anything other than that image makes you upset. 

-If you need to have a quiet and tidy home at all times.

-If you need to control all aspects of their life even into adulthood.

-if you believe they owe you unconditional, unquestionable respect regardless of your own behavior. 

-If you don’t believe they have the right to privacy in their own home.

-If you’re unwilling to change your lifestyle to accommodate the demands of parenthood.

-If you do not believe ALL humans of every race, gender, sexuality, religion, and career deserve the same rights and respect. 

Look. Your baby could be fat. Your “son” could actually be your daughter; or both or neither. They could be a lawyer or a porn star. You could have a boy who loves makeup and grows up to be an athiest that brings home an alaskan lumberjack named Boris and the two make a living doing gay camshows . You could have a daughter with blue hair, pierced tits, who is a YouTube rapping sensation called Krispee Kareem and marries a black man and wants 8 kids with him

This. It’s like they’ve got so carried away with trying to be bbc ambulance 2.0 that they’ve forgotten their usp is that they actually get to show the accidents happen! You gotta have at least one exploding car man. And half a nano second footage of a character being thrown back by it that looks like Every Single Regular on the show. That said very happy that paramedics are getting more air time and that there’s more than 2 of them for the first time since *pauses to compose self and whispers* Jeff’s death 😩💔

nbf but I just watched the summer trailer for casualty and it was literally made up of two episodes???? it was shit, throwback to the old trailers that were jam-packed full of drama lmao but the new paramedic looks good and it’s nice to see them focusing on the paramedics for a change
