guys i have to get this out or im gonna explode. in my life drawing class we are making our own series and mine is about lobster people, and the whole point of my project is to turn my class into furries--and its working. people relate to my lobsters...someone said they feel like their emotional reality was portrayed truthfully through these lobsters, these kind of ridiculous and funny but so painfully out of place and grotesque figures that you cant help but see yourself in if youve ever experienced being the "weird one". they dont know my secret plan but i am winning.

As an aroace person I actually never had that feeling of being broken. I thought everyone was the same way and some people were just dramatic 😭

VERY confused about the sputch mouse controls. during the whole direct they never showed people like... actually using it. they only showed the editorial detached hand, like. how are you meant to use it. what if you're playing on the couch. what if you're playing handheld on your bed. where do you slide the mouse on

wait, but like, this sort of reinforces the video as art. even in their attempts to understand something they had previously written off, they still miss areas because they're not the intended audience.
new cj the x video is rlly good but there's one bit that bothered me
it's like, not really the point of the video, but i felt he missed the mark on his reading of Antonymph
cj themselves say in the video that they have no real proximity to fandom, and it sort of shows in their analysis. in particular, the line "fighting on newgrounds over if my love is valid" is interpreted by CJ as being about ship wars, but idk, i think that's missing something. specifically, i know i and very many others have had experiences in fandom wherein we've had to defend both ships AND our own sexualities. to a lot of people, a statement like "i drew sonic as trans because i am trans", just isn't good enough - the defence of the headcanon also becomes a defence of yourself.
in addition, homophobia was RAMPANT in the MLP fandom in the 2010s, which im surprised CJ doesn't consider since they've apparently watched the jenny nicholson video in which she covers that attitude quite extensively. there was an entire genre of meme dedicated to defending rainbow dash's supposed lack of lesbianism, created entirely unironically. if you ship a queer ship in a fandom that is predominantly not, be prepared to defend it and your own identity every other comment.
i think CJ is operating under the assumption that fandom is a generally accepting place, maybe due to the prevalence of mlm ships, idk, but for a lot of us in the 2010s and even to this day, it really isn't. any fandom where the primary audience isn't queer will require queer people to explain themselves and their interests and headcanons at every turn (looking at you, sonictwt).
it's weird that CJ interpreted this line in that way, as the "if my love is valid" part implies that this is a love that belongs to the singer, not to any of the characters. idk, i think they're right but not quite. it doesn't really matter to the point of the video but it bothered me a bit.

obviously furries can be 100% nonsexual for a lot of ppl but once you start talking down to furry kinksters & acting like this whole damn community wasnt built on people wanting to fuck tony the tigers brains out or some shit youve lost the plot entirely to be honest

i didn’t want to respond to any of her posts with this directly, but the consistent and demeaning smear campaign Patricia Taxxon has been facing for the last 2 or so years is so frustrating in part because I don’t know what the solution is.
part of me thinks it would be better if she went private with it again, but then we would get “oh you’re trying to hide it” and also run into the original issue of, because she’s a trans woman (and don’t pretend that’s not why she’s facing such scrutiny), people search for things to expose her for, and would eventually find it anyway
it’s easy to say that the best thing to do would be to embrace it anyway and “fuck the haters” and not care what others think, but that’s extremely hard to do when said others can affect your career and relationships to others. she lost a credit on a film because of it and her music wasn’t used at all, it’s hard not to care when that happens. and it’s something I’ve been weighing up myself recently, and kind of always have as an autistic person - does opportunity make a lack of authenticity worth it? does pure unbridled authenticity make some lost opportunities because of people who might not even be bad, just a bit more normal than you, worth it?
It’s upsetting because it seems never-ending. Patricia can make a response that to my eyes looks extremely articulate and calm and it makes sense and then at least 20 people find a different post, ignore that one, and somehow get “Patricia thinks being abused makes you gay” from a post that is essentially “kink deserves to be at pride” phrased a little differently. like dude I think you’d agree with her if you just actually read the post, but you’re not, because you’re transmisogynistic and maybe you find furries icky too, so your brain is purposely searching for the worst way to interpret what she’s saying that so your ick can be justified and you can remain a Good Person. also their posts are always extremely angry and full of rage and you’d think if they had any faith in the arguments they were presenting they wouldn’t have to fill it with swear words and personal attacks.
idk what the answer is, I just sincerely hope it stops soon. it should have never have gotten so bad that patricia had to pin a “I was abused as a child” post on her blog. she deserves privacy just as we all do but people don’t want to allow her that even while saying she should stop posting what she does
also and fuck crimsonender. what a spineless shitbag. do you also make dinner because people in your tumblr asks tell you to? make ur own decisions for once

i think in the end furries will always win. in whatever time it takes i think people are going to realize anthropomorphism is so deeply ingrained in us as creatures that to even invent a hatred of the concept to begin with is like hating the concept of telling stories or singing or dancing
