I’ve been getting the question since the Introduction to Scarlet Haven was released over a year ago... or more... I don’t remember. I was asked a lot “Where’s the 1st Chapter of Scarlet Haven?” Well I have a horrible memory and haven’t returned to writing it. Wait no longer though, I am preparing to write the 1st chapter tonight as the original 1st chapter I wrote was lost to my hard drive dying. So stay tuned for more Scarlet Haven folks!

Scarlet Haven: Introduction

[This is a revamp of the original story, A World with One Demon Lord. Like the old story, Scarlet Haven is a story about Shuyuzin Von Abbaddonas II. This intro is from the perspective of Yggdran, an Escalion (world titan deity basically) who died to save a world he found while retreating the race who caused all but 3 members of his race to die.]

DISCLAIMER: Although it’s not in this Intro, this story has portions of R18 (homosexual mostly) text based scenes and if you’re NOT okay with that then don’t read it beyond this section. If you are, please enjoy this tale I have crafted together (poorly as it was rushed)

          One world could easily have lived if I didn't do what I did, but who's to say the result would have been the same. It was... the later years of that world, a world that no longer exists. My name is Yggdransaigon Abbaddonas, the original Abbaddonas that existed as an Escalion on the world, which would later be called Scarlet. This story isn't about me though, it's about the real savior of the world who will unravel the mystery I could never solve. The one thing all Escalions have wondered since day one of life; who is our creator... and why do we follow him so blindly? To answer this... we must relay what happened at the end of my life first.

          I had come to a little world known simply as Planet 263 after running from a fleet of Beloogic Troopers. It was a nice planet, and I grew to love a dragon living on this world. She was beautiful, her black scales that vaguely reminded me of her scales and made me think that such a dark color isn't as depressing as it may appear to be. She was of a dying dragon race, struggling to survive on a sliver of hope. I helped her raise a child, the child later known to be Tiamat, and we lived happily in that world. Who knew in the beginning that it was all going to go downhill real fast. They came without warning, and in a last struggle for the survival of 2 races, I sacrificed myself to destroy the Beloogic race.

           I regret what I've done ever so slightly, but dying a hero allowed for a future to grow strong. It gave rise to the world we know as Scarlet, the Sanctuary for dying races to flourish in a new light. A place where a savage warrior created the most well-known Legend, where the Lord of the Night married the Princess of the Sun as equals to stop racism, where an unknown race grew from the ashes of war, where a mortal became a deity, and even where a Demon proved that being a sinful creature doesn't mean he's a monster. This is the story of the demon who saved Scarlet from a threat I couldn't predict, a threat that would soon reset mortality again. A story from the darkness of the world, an abyss covered in lies and drowned in fear and hate.

Once upon a time, I didn’t sleep all day. Then this thing happened and I slept from 5am to 5pm... the end.

It was only a matter of time before Shuyuzin became a smol, cute blind demon. If I had the energy to continue this tonight... I would have but for now we get this half done demon lord. Tomorrow I will add on his horns and go in depth on the coloration... experiment some with textures and what not. Getting used to something that an artist I know suggested way back when.

You had a problem with your art-style?

Yes, I had a case of identity crisis you could say. I wanted an art-style that I enjoy looking at AND enjoy drawing. Now most styles I see are pleasant to look at but when I sat down to draw them out myself I realized how much I disliked it. After taking hours of getting input from other artists and friends I have decided that maybe the anime type style I was going for wasn't my jam. So in the end, I put together what I had taught myself and what I newly learned in my... journey to enlightenment and came up with something I do enjoy drawing and enjoy looking at.That being said... I still have a lot of work to do as the tools I have right now are not fit for making digital art. That being said... I take suggestions on things to use for digital art (programs mostly) so feel free to suggest things to me so I can better myself.

So, news on the story revamp?

It’s in WIP form. Do expect it sometime soon, as I have finally cleared my schedule out to be able to write it on a more in depth level. Speaking of which, I believe I have figured out my art-style problem. So also expect a Shuyuzin here in a day or two.

I’ve been doing a lot of redesigns for Shu and thinking of characters to add in. I might end up writing the 1st chapter to it here in the near future though because I love writing Shu’s dialogue, even though I’m not the best artist or writer... I still have a lot to learn. Do expect it this coming month though as it’s something I am preparing for.

Why isn't Miguel here with Shu-shu?

“He’s out of town right now because of an important meeting. I can’t stand being on most forms of transportation... I get motion sickness. So I stayed back to hold down the fort for a while.” -Shuyuzin

It’s because I don’t own the rights to Miguel and I haven’t really drawn him since 2015 or so... I plan to draw him again one day though for something special.

Does Shu have a favorite pokemon at all? If he even knows what that is.

He does know what it is as he is a 4th Wall Breaker. As such only one pokemon matters to him...

For years Kai has wondered... if Shuyuzin would fit in with the inklings of Splatoon and their memes... today we found out the answer.

Since Splatoon came out I might was well do something to celebrate it somehow. I’m on a tight schedule with things so it might take some time to get the cranked out fully.

Does Psi-psi have large pointed ears like his father? Or are they human?

Psi’s human father may (or may not) be Miguel but he still has pointed ears... all be it they are not as pointed as Shuyuzin’s as Shu is a full on demon and Psi is only half. Putting them side by side would show differences...

Shu’s are large, more pointed, angled upwards towards the tipPsi’s are smaller, more rounded, angled downwards towards the tip

It’s about to time I actually bust out the art-style I’ve been working on for a full... 4 months besides the usual one I always draw in. We’ll get some line-art out for Shu and Psi over the next few... months maybe. Along with the whole “Messages to Abbaddonas” thing I said I’d be doing...

I’ve really been lazy the past few days so have the Full-body of Psisu finally. I’m gonna be starting up asks for Shuyuzin again only this time... you can ask Psi things too. You get as many asks as ya want so go nuts.

Why is it that you are good at drawing... but not as good at digital?

Low budgets hurt man, life of a struggling college kid is a tough one so I don’t get the pleasure of having a drawing tablet... so certain things are harder. I’m about to get a new program for drawing though since... my current one isn’t the best.
