Flicker put down the shopping bags next to the door and turned to the citizen, smiling. No matter how big or small task, he was happy to help.

However, the elderly pushed past him, took the bags inside and shut the door. No thanks, no nothing. Flicker stood there for a few seconds, looking at the closed door, and finally vented quietly and turned away.

Am I imagining things, or is everyone busier these days? he thought as he transformed into a scooter, preparing to drive to the next place. He knew that was an excuse, a thought to cover up another thought that was far more hurtful.

He'd helped people so many times, his help was being taken for granted. It'd gotten to the point where some had stopped talking to him, where some took him for the robot that his appearance was.

But he was still sentient, you know.

There was dust and smoke wherever Flicker looked. He heard someone cry out, and he started running towards the noise, ducking under collapsed pillars and avoiding pieces falling from the ceiling. He stopped to listen, disoriented by the blinding dirt, and heard another scream.

Just as he was about to start running again, he heard a crack above him and looked up just in time to see a large chunk of ceiling coming towards him. He raised his arm, and he could feel a strong flow of energon running towards his servo...

Flicker sat up with a gasp. It took his optics a moment to adjust to the familiar darkness of his room. He hesitated for a few seconds, and then, touched his arm... but there was nothing.

He tried to go back to sleep, but the thought of having his own energon tool kept him awake.
