| airports |
i tell you the truth, these places contain their own world of wonders. every one that i have stepped into ( which is quite many ) holds a certain tenderness and attachment to that particular location. however, the people passing through are often incommensurable to such location, which only adds to the whimsicality and mystery of the airport. there are colourful words floating about from the local inhabitants in the chairs and snores and whispers from the strangers covered in blankets they smuggled off their last flight. at each gate, story upon story build up, untold, unheard of but by few. at each baggage claim, mothers bite their fingernails as they attempt to pull heavy suitcases off the spinning wheel whilst also keeping their children close. lovers are reunited and caught in a deep embrace. they all stand ‘round that spinning wheel to claim their very own luggage, eyes set upon the colour, shape, and nametag of each one that passes by. a moment in a lifetime when humans are so focused and refuse to be distracted by anything lest they miss their bag. oh, the languages that echo across the ceilings & oh the outlets that are swarmed by weary travelers. those who cant stay in hotels sleep overnight in a dark corner or pace restlessly, full of jet lag, in front of the large windows. you see more of these creature’s mannerisms in an airport than you might if you spent a day with them in a city or a car. airports have a way of bringing out the daring, quiet, risk taking, raw person within us. and you are never alone; there are always observers in an airport :: watching you, watching me, watching my reflection.
sometimes i find airports so intriguing that i find it hard to continue on the upcoming destination. a place of quiet fervour, they certainly are.

No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.
