listen. i'm as much of a fan of dressing lloyd in alternative styles as the next guy, but i have such a hard time imagining he would actually do that

Like this man has so much emotional repression within him i think that, while he may admire and/or connect with the fashion and values of alternative subcultures, he would never actually dress in them or be able to join them

At most he's doing it almost secretively. He feels like wanting to rebel, or be loud like he was as a kid, is a bad thing now. He feels like he has to "grow up" and be responsible. Playing loud metal? Like he did when he was doing stuff like setting the Serpentine free and setting in motion Ninjago almost getting destroyed? No! He can't do that anymore. He's in charge of keeping Ninjago safe.

He's the Green Ninja. He has to be a role model.

Technically, the lot Brad Tudabone lives on is part of a protected 'dark sky' reserve dedicated to keeping light pollution low and the night sky perfectly visible to the naked human eye. Maybe that's why he can see, with perfect clarity, what is definitely not a meteor crashing down from outer space and directly into his backyard. Where he expects to find experimental government technology gone awry, or at the very least an abnormally large rock, he instead finds a futuristic pod holding a living- well. What's the difference between a person and an insect, again? It's the arms, right? Well, this guy has too damn many.

Lloyd Garmadon, ancestor of the First Realm planet and protector of his home planet Ninjago, has no recollection of being stuffed in a cryo-chamber and whisked off into the void of outer space. All he has is a faulty translator and a small database downloaded in his wrist tech. If he's to survive this foreign world, he'll need both his wits and the help of the native organism Brad Tudabone in order to fix his tech and build an SOS beacon. One glaring problem: he doesn't really want to leave.

Wrote this to try and break TKaL writing block, got fucking obliterated by gay people when I wrote 8k within 2.5 days I give up

It’s the first in an (unfinished) series, but each book is pretty self contained, so none of the completed works end in the middle of an arc. Highly recommend, I love the characterizations of both show and movie versions.

I LOVED My Dad Is Bad But Still Family and I wanted to find more fics on that universe cause I love this silly little high school au with the whole secret identities thing. GREENFLOWER AU BUT SETTING IS THE NINJAGO HIGH SCHOOL MOVIE AND THE NINJAS ARE SOULMATES (platonic) AND THEYVE ALL SLOWLY STARTED REVEALING THEIR IDENTITIES TO EACH OTHERRER EXCEPT LLOYD

and because lloyd is so dead set on hiding his identity he usually deals with his injuries by himself or hides them and one day BRAD (from a different school) stumbles upon him in an alley or smthg and they become best ish friends. brad helps him when he can and all that jazz and he’s the only one who knows everything abt lloyd for a while.

so like the greenflower is minor. platonic ninjas soulmatism is major. but they make my heart hurt.
