Florence: Especially, like, wanting Isa to come be in the band with me and be on tour, it's made such a difference. The hill is less hard to climb, I think, with someone there.

Florence: This is, uh, Isabella Summers, my very very good friend and also writing partner.

Isabella: And this is Florence Welch; she's the lead singer of Florence and the Machine.....

Florence: Oh yeah, and she plays the keys in Florence and the Machine.

Isabella: Best friend from the beginning....

Florence: We've done so many kind of amazing shows together [READ: the one in which Florence kissed Isabella, and the one in which Isabella proposed], and it's really nice to be able to share that with someone...and it makes my life so much easier and more fun, because you know she's such a sort of...such a ray of sunshine in my life.

Isabella: So we have all these relationships that come and go and all the rest of it...and we go on tour and we do this...but like, we've always had

Florence and Isabella: constant.

Isabella: I think you're like my sister.

Florence: Yeah.

Isabella: I don't have any sisters; so I always say that Flo's my sister, because we have been like sisters for so long now. It's pretty much once in a lifetime that you make a friendship like we have [aka, "let's get married now, Flo"].

Florence: Boyfriends come and go, but friends....

I just decided to post the whole drawing that I did a loooooong time ago and never finished. I now gave Florence and Isa arms and scribbled a background. I remember that I wanted to do a bit like cartoon style (?) and failed, as you can see. I don’t know what’s wrong with my camera cause the picture is really bright here.

“This next song is for the ladies…so I’ve seen a lot of beautiful ladies at Coachella today. But I want to see some more! So gentleman if you’re with a lady and you love her or like her, or ladies if you’re with a lady and you love her or like her, it’s time for you to raise her up!”

You know why I much prefer Florence to Gaga? Why I think THIS message is way more supportive of LGBT that what Lady Gaga does (here, I’m not dissing on Gaga or saying what she does doesn’t help, it helps in it’s way of course, this is not an anti-Gaga message)? Florence aknowledge the LGBT diversity at her shows as completely normal. She says this like it’s nothing. She normalizes the fact that, yes, some women might’ve come with other women. If you were saying that in you fridge you had coke and seven up, you’d just say that you have cokes and seven up. No big deal. Would you say “I have coke and I have something that is entirely different than coke but it’s also as good so it’s okay! Don,t make a fuss about it!”. I speak as a part of the LGBT community, and I much prefer to be treated as if it was no big deal than to be told that it’s okay if I’m different and I should embrace it. To me, that simple little thing Florence said makes her a probably much more accepting person than a lot of people around me who are like “Yeah, being different is okay. it’s okay if you’re not like me.” because the message is, not only that it’s okay, but that there really is no differences at all.

Hello everyone! This is Celeste and i’m going to be posting a story that Maria has wrote about her new daughter Isabella, I hope you enjoy this wonderful story, and it would really mean a lot to her if this story reaches Isabella Summers. :)

“Isabella’s Story”

‘About two years ago my sister and I went to visit an orphanage in Mexico. We got really involved and a year after that we decided to adopt two kids, she was going to adopt a girl and I was going to adopt a boy. Because of my age (I’m 22 now) I wasn’t able to start the process to adopt this kid. We both talked and decided that together we were going to give that beautiful girl the life that she deserved. It was a really difficult and long process to go through.

During that time, my sister and I had to deal with lots of difficult situations. Many times we felt that our dream to give that girl a family and a house that she could feel her own was never going to be a reality. Many people close to us weren’t happy with our decision to offer to a special challenged girl a family; that people were constantly telling us that she was going to be a burden in our life because of her disabilities. Of course there were people there cheering us up too, reminding us that we were blessed for having the chance to fight for that girl to bring her home.

Last year was very difficult for me, almost every day getting bad news, one after another one. But this girl was my reason to keep going, to keep fighting; she was my little machine who gave me strength to put myself together when I was falling apart. When we got close to the date to bring her home I mentioned to my sister that I wanted to name our girl Isabella, after Isabella Summers from Florence and the Machine. I told her that the name Isabella for me has the meaning of “machine”, and so since my girl was my machine to keep me going every day I wanted to name her Isabella.  She knows how important this band is for me, how much their music has helped me to go through many situations in my life and how much I admire Isabella Summers as well as Florence and Tom.  Thank you three for being amazing human beings and making my life better.

This band has impacted my life so much that words cannot describe. Their music for me is a way to leave my feelings flow, my mind to fly and my heart to beat.  I have met the most amazing people in the world because of Florence and the Machine, and I really want to thank all of them who were always there for me during this process and constantly asking about Isabella. A huge thank you to Daniella, Kristian, Carina, Celeste, Emma, Sorrel and Kay for all your support, Isabella and I love you so much. Two weeks ago was when Isabella finally came home; she is now part of our family and our life. We know that this is just the beginning and that our life is going to change a lot, but we have each other and we are going to keep fighting together.
