two people have been making a pokemon mystery dungeon comic. it is really great; it updates regularly; it has over 200 pages so far; they have drawn the entire thing in MS Paint. it is a literal ms paint adventure.

seriously, try it. its good, and its perfectly readable, even for people who know next to nothing about pokemon. you might not get some of the inside references but the story is written to be a self-contained world so you dont have to have played 16 different pokemon games to understand whats going on.

sayeon lee from hand jumper + X from to be hero x - if i had a nickel for every one of my favorite characters that wears a suit, glasses, a tie clip based on a roman numeral and snaps their fingers to use their OP power I'd have 2 nickels... really, they look like they were designed in the same room lmfao. complimentary colors, black vs white, everything! if they met it would probably be disastrous. love them! also a nice coincidence that X has the "X" clip and rank 10 is the highest Aberrant Corps rank in HJ.

watcher grian from the life series - these are very entertaining minecraft youtube videos. it's crazy how it's unscripted. grian watcher lore is the most intriguing thing for the guy who alludes to "lore" the least these days!

dr. benjamin kondraki from SCP - idk that much about scp but the concept of a photographer with a symbiotic(?) horde of magic butterflies is really cool.

firestar from warrior cats - guilty bc he is the equivalent of a kettle cooked sea salt flavor potato chip. hilariously, this means he has one of the most consistent characterizations of any warrior cats character. if I saw this cat though id take him home so fast allergies be darned. also (spoilers for the broken code arc): was him randomly possessing rootspring and murdering a guy nostalgia bait? yes. was it funny as fuck? also yes. favorite scene in that arc. literally just firestar aura farming. i havent read warriors since then though, warrior cats is... definitely something. for anyone wanting to get into warriors just read the graphic novel adaptation, it's genuinely the best, most well-written piece of media warriors has ever made despite being based on the original books and it's not close.

The enigmatic reigning champion, 'X' has remained undefeated since winning the last Tournament two years ago.

would the tbhx characters still be heroes in this AU? would they keep their powers? is there still a trust value system? idk.

I was wondering about if X is the only one with a legendary/mythical but then I thought about drawing Moon with Hoopa

instead, to distinguish X as special, he's got a shiny Victini, which has never been distributed and is only possible to obtain by hacking. It also happens to match his color scheme perfectly!!

He uses premier balls for his team to match his color scheme and because they look cool you get them FREE with a purchase of 10 pokéballs!

Two reasons why his other pokémon is Pidove:

1. Pidove is a common pokémon for common people, which matches with his salaryman alter ego. fun fact that I found on serebii: Pidove spawn in the Castelia City park, and there is exactly one clerk in the city who will battle you with a Pidove.

2. bird theory

If I do more, I was wondering if I should assign everybody a legendary. I'm also super super biased so I immediately wanted to stick Reshiram to X because Reshiram's my favorite legendary and happens to be white.

To be fair to myself though, it might work because Reshiram is the Truth and X is described as "seeing the truth of the world". Plus, if X wants to change the system then he might align with Reshiram who helps those who want to build a world of truth.

again, I'm extremely biased towards Unova. A disproportionate amount of my favs are from Unova. I was thinking Queen with Cobalion?

if I do end up doing the 1 legendary or mythical/character idea then I think E-Soul would either have Regieleki (fast electricity) or Genesect (old thing with gun)

bw is crammed full of this!! was it intentional??? if so we game freak needs to get freaky again because ARGH..... did yall also feel the sadness lingering in the postgame...

something about the feeling that you keep stepping into a space left behind by someone greater than you in b2w2 - a space that leads you somewhere that you would've died because you aren't as capable as that someone! but you don't die, because N saves you. but he's only at that point because of the bw protag! the bw protag, who is nowhere to be seen. along with Zekrom/Reshiram.

which - Zekrom and Reshiram are extremely abstract compared to other box legends. while others are representing things like space/time, water/land, Zekrom and Reshiram are symbolic of the concepts of Truth and Ideals which connects to their lore. Unova's big thing is diversity, and that's reflected in the creation mythos of Unova: the dragons together -truth and ideals together- create Unova. They aren't meant to fight or be separated. they used to be one dragon. b2w2 sees a Unova with a missing half.

When N gives you his legendary (which, WHY DID HE DO THAT.) it puts salt in the wound (although to be fair yeah they need some way for the player to get the legendaries). maybe game freak was just trolling us really hard. or maybe it's meaningless for N to hold on to one dragon without the other. There is no more opposing hero. it only works when they're together.

meanwhile you're just Some Kid, but that's why it's so gutting that a big thing of b2w2 is the addition of fusing with Kyurem. Kyurem suits you. Throughout the game it's said that Kyurem is an empty shell. On the box art, it's White or Black Kyurem that matters, not Kyurem by itself. just like you, Kyurem's experience is defined heavily by what Zekrom and Reshiram (and their respective heroes) left behind.

you know what agonizes me. the fact that the unova games place such an importance on twins/pairs and then. ingo is gone. hilbert is gone. zekrom is gone.
