IKEA GROW LIGHT UPDATE: I think these lights were a very good decision. This siltepecana has been one of the plants I've kept under one of the lights, and over the last month, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of leaves she's putting out and their size. I have 3 of the larger vaxter grow lights on light timers, and I leave them on for 12 hours a day. I keep them on that long because otherwise, my apartment would be really dark, and the grow lights are probably a little further away from the plants than recommended (so I can fit more under each light). This is only a one month update, so we'll have to see how things go in the long run, but so far I feel very optimistic and these lights have been a huge, cost-effective help

Opuntia Minocantha looking funky and fresh, growing whichever way they please. I’m grateful for my West-facing kitchen window and the sun it gets, because my succulents are super happy and are all putting out new growth. It feels really good to be successful with these guys, because in the past my succulents haven’t been happy (or alive for very long...) so thanks for the win kitchen window!! ❤️

Hello again! My last introduction post was a while ago and we've gained quite a few Flora Fam members since. PLUS! The lovely Lesli over at @sorryihaveplantsthisweekend tagged me for a #plantladyintroduction, so below are 5 fun things about me! 1. Taking legit pictures of myself is so hard!! This is my "taking-photogenic-stylized-pictures-is-so-hard!!" face... I don't mind having pictures taken of me, but I think getting that whole insta-aesthetic is a whole different type of tricky, which is why I have lots of silly pictures like this (and not a lot of pictures of myself on this acct just yet 😁) 2. I have a soon-to-be 6 year old rescue named Cooper and he is my bestie!! He's a stage-5-clinger, but tbh I am also a stage-5-clinger when it comes to this cutie too 🐶 3. My "day job" was healthcare up until 2 months ago; Next week I start grad school for Healthcare Administration and I'm feeling pretty nervous. I worked full time during my undergrad, and so this will be my first time being a full time student and I'm honestly a little intimidated. I know that once I get into the swing of things, it'll be fun, but it's a process 👩🏼‍💻 4. I have really enjoyed the plant community since starting this insta in April. One of the most fun things I've seen lately is Plant Mail, so I decided that I want to get more into plant trading!! If you ever see a picture on my feed of something you've been wanting (and you're in the US) let me know and I'd love to start swapping away :) Because I don't think there's any better thing to get in the mail than more plants 💌 5. I've been taking a pottery class recently and It's been really fun to learn how to make things out of clay!! It's been a challenging but positive creative outlet and I'm excited about making cute pots for my plants 🌵 Alright, I'd love to hear about you guys! Tell me things you like about yourself or are proud of ❤️

Is there any foliage that just gets you every time you see it?? This syngonium has little flecks of of pink on its leaves and it’s just the sweetest!!

I went to CPH’s office this morning to check on my plants and miss retusa asked me to tell you all happy #waxplantwednesday for her!! ❤️ The plants are doing well for the most part in CPH’s office; our variegated monstera is putting out 4 new leaves right now which is really exciting!! The only negative is that miss gloriosum has spider mites. The plan is to go in again tomorrow with stuff to treat it. Any hump day plans?? I have ceramics tonight and I’m excited to keep working on my technique ❤️

Happy #philodendronfriday from miss gloriosum’s newest leaf ❤️ I’m glad that some of my plants, including this gloriosum, were taken to CPH’s office because I’m currently battling thrips at home. She’s one of my favorite plants and so I’m grateful that she’s safe from the pests 🙏🏼 This weekend we’ll be wiping everyone down with alcohol, giving showers, and bonide-ing the worst ones. I’m hopeful we’ll be able to get it under control soon though ❤️

This cactus was SO cute, but it was way too big for my succulent shelf; Otherwise he definitely would have come home with me... 🌵
