For a few long, pensive moments, Zahrosa just stares back. She's not one to be put off by something so small as intense eye contact, and besides— there is something interesting there. The girl is very... clear. There is little blurring around the edges. Zahrosa sees no deceit. "Yes," she answers evenly, her chin raising the smallest fraction. The scar that splits her mouth tucks into the soft hollow beneath her jaw here, pulled tight by its depth. "So? What is this point you wish to make?"

Kit so rarely maintains eye contact, but with Zahrosa it just feels like she can't take her eyes off the woman. Not in a struggling way, pulled in desperately where you can't look away. No, Kit feels like she has to look the other in the eye to show her honest self. There's a piece of her soul she wants to share with this woman - a past she wants her to know without speaking it.

Her gaze follows the woman's scar and thinks of her own. She thinks of all the horrible ways she has been hurt. And she wonders just what horrors the other has experienced and wonders if the people that did it were sorry. Or were they even alive to beg forgiveness?

"Point?" Kit's features brighten, eyes lighting up as she cocks her head sideways. "Oh - I think we should be friends!"

"Oh...." Like a sacrifice, she thinks to herself. And it's not fair to deny his sacrifice to her she decides. He's so nice to share, it makes her smile softly. "Okay." And she picks up the food and drink and starts to eat, slowly savoring each bite. It's not her favorite and she can barely taste anything, but it's something. "Thank you," she remembers to say, gently leaning against the wall. "Next time I'll share with you!"

It had all happened in a flash. One second they were chattering - well Kit was doing most of the chattering as she did. And then suddenly Tyler had yelled out and disappeared into the ground. Kit immediately went on alert, muscles tense and looking for her enemy immediately. Her eyes did not go to the ground at first, but for the enemy unseen. Traps were for hunters, so where were they?

Seeing and sensing no one near, she finally looked down. "I know the word shit. It's okay," she says in a matter of fact tone. But she's glad that Tyler doesn't look too injured. "What about a big branch, do you think you could grab onto that and I pull you up?"

This was so embarrassing. Sure, they were technically trespassing in this particular area of woodland, but who the hell hides a pit trap on a freaking path? Traps for animals, maybe, but so carefully hiding one big enough for a whole ass person was ridiculous. Like something in a shitty movie, the kind she ended up watching on sleepless motel nights. It was just absurd. A nice walk turned into an absolute shit show, and worse, the kid was here as witness. So much for the ‘responsible and trustworthy adult’ impression she’d been trying to give her.

“Don’t get too close, you'll fall!” There was no lasting damage from the tumble she'd just taken, but getting out again was going to be an issue. The thing was too deep for her to reach the top without some sort of boost. “I need somethin’ to stand on or somethin’ to— can you see anythin’ up there that I can use? Like… I don’t know. Shit. I mean, shoot. Anythin’ you can push in? Or like… I don’t know, a miracle ladder?”

The red-head is hyperventilating, struggling to take in deep breaths through her lungs. Kit senses the other's closeness and it brings a type of calm over her though and her breathing slowly becomes a steady sound again. She pulls her hands away from her eyes and leans into her knees. "Sorry....I....you startled me."

The teenager spits blood on the ground, still vibrating from the adrenaline running through her system. Blood is still dribbling from her nose but she seems inclined to ignore it if she can, though it's rather itchy.

"Just a usual Tuesday," she replies to the spectator, staggering over to her.
