For those of you thirsty for nerd Moonbyul, I decided to make a post explaining her treasure hunt as I haven’t yet seen a post explaining it in detail.
It all started on the 6th of April 2016 on her one note memo in the fancafe where she declared ‘the treasure hunt has started’ As seen below, next to her message, she wrote (별) = (Byul). This can be seen in two ways: her signing off with her name or it’s a hint. Turns out, it was a message, telling us to find the relevant hints in mamamoo related posts that has a star next to it.
On the same day, she released her first hint. The star indicates that whatever that’s next to it is a hint for her treasure hunt. Here, it’s the Korean word ‘법’.
The next day, on the 7th of April 2016, she released her second hint, once again indicated by the star before it. The answer to the equation is 4, which translates to ‘사’ in Korean.
On the 8th of April, the third hint was released along with her Instagram post. The words ‘jij, je, jou’ roughly all mean ‘you’ in Dutch and this translates to ‘너’ in Korean.
The last hint was released on the 9th of April 2016 on a post about Solar’s appearance on duet song festival. Next to the star, we have the Chinese character ‘用’ which translates into the Korean word ‘용’
Now, we have assembled all the hints. First hint: ‘법’ Second hint: ‘사’ Third hint: ‘너’ Fourth hint: ‘용’ . This is an anagram for ‘너사용법’ , which is the Korean title for Eddy Kim’s song ‘The Manual’.
On the 10th of April 2016, Moonbyul released all the answers to the hints as well as the treasure on the fancafe. Finally, on the 11th of April 2016, she released her cover of Eddy Kim’s ‘The Manual’ as a present for moomoos.
(She always calls the other members a genius but I think she’s the real schemer in the group. There were always so many signs that told us Moonbyul is a huge nerd. Now we know for sure.)
NOTE: Eddy’s Kim’s ‘The Manual was also released on the 11th of April but in 2014.
