some idea about the final outcome: Book art?
How does it feels like to be within a book or trapped inside a story?
It could have a similar concept as a tunnel book you peek through a hole to view the scene of a story. It is a technology book in 4 dimensions? You will be a part of the story. within a shoe box?
What are you looking at?
What are you looking for?
why are you looking at "it"?
How are you looking at "it"?
What did you discover? What is the value/ potential/ history/ nature/ limitations?

Consolidation week
Dyson Dotplot challenge
In between my project, I have participated in the Dyson challenge to raise awareness of breast cancer and also promote the self monitoring devices. I have learnt more about branding identity throughout this challenge. Continuing with my research on XR, could it be possible to interpret XR in commercial settings?

Week 6
VALUE OF AR: CHANGES HOW WE INTERACT WITH SPACE
Delving into the topic discussed previously in week 5. In the process of learning more about AR and trying out different methods, it increases my awareness with the space around us. Contrary to the perception of technology as a disconnection from the real life, this projects allows me to pay more attention to the surroundings. Does AR contradictory increases our creativity and raising more interest in the surroundings? It can be a yes to me.

Week 5 (25 Feb)
THE VALUE OF AR ?
CHANGING HOW WE VIEW SPACES?
When forms come alive (hayward gallery)
I could see some of the potential in AR while visiting the exhibition.
EVERCHANGING
-"they proclaim that nothing in the world stays the same, that everything is moving, seething, changing and transforming." AR works well within a fast pace environment it could be easily adjusted and changed. There is a lots of value within the traditional way of exhibition working with materials and so on. How about something permanent things we wanted it to exist within a space just for a while? like they artist say about transforming and moving. AR doesn't necessarily destroyed the tradition but adding some spice within.
SPACE
-The exhibition showcases an ever changing nature using material, emphasises on the movement and flow of the art piece. I found this exhibition very inspiring for my project, each art piece say something about the space, it almost changes the space and blending into it. I have chosen a few photos that relates most to the subject.
-AR work well with spaces. What if it exist here?
-"what will happen if people are basically seeing ghost all the time?"
SCALE
-"I have been starting with scale, taking something minuscule and thinking about being amongst it". AR gives opportunity for us to change scale very early. Potentially it could help in visualization within design and creating art.
-In the third picture, Scottobosco by Holly Hendry is a steel ducting, stainless steel, blown glass, concrete canvas.
-Going back to the questioning of the value of AR and the potential of it? this could open a new direction of how AR changes our way of playing around with spaces. Within the exhibition the word fungi were often used, mentioning the ever extending flow. Will AR/ VR gives a part in creating?

Week 5 (19 Feb- 25Feb)
TYPOGRAPHY IN AR (BIG FRONT)
A TEMPORARY PERSONALITY
In this week, I am trying to create some big front blending into the surroundings. I would like to experiment on how AR could be introduce to say something within the space. There is a value with working with something big( large scale), it attracts attention. It creates a feeling, a feeling of the environment. AR could helps to send out information or concepts that you couldn't want it to be there like forever. Something temporary but also attracts people's eye ball. It gives a temporary personality to the space. You could say about it being more environmental friendly as could help to create less waste in advertising.

Week 3
OBJECTS AND AR
Some other experimentation in week 3. Try to scan daily life object into AR.
It would be interesting to ask if AR could ever be a part of our life. I believe that AR could be very handy. Imagine having a furniture you would like to place in your house while having this AR tool that helps you to visualise it being in our space. Will you use it? I will.

WEEK 3 (5 Feb- 11 Feb)
FROM BLENDER TO REAL LIFE
In the end of last week and beginner of the week I started using blender to create 3d model. I could like to divide my working progress within XR into two parts. Before Easter I would experiment and research into AR, to give myself some ideas around the boarder topic of XR. After Easter, I would step into the field of VR. Technology wise, I would like to spend some time learn how to use the 3d tools and get myself into some XR software such as unity. At this stage, I am mostly learning everything about the technology.

WEEK2 (29 Jan- 4 Feb)
GETTING TO KNOW ABOUT XR
This week I went to this LGBT+VR exhibition. I haven't got much experience in VR, this was a great opportunity to get to know more about the topic. Within the setting, viewers can walk themselves through a large non-existed gallery space where you can pick up and put things down. We could move through the space with our fingers.
I have realised there have been quite a lot of newly developed XR exhibiting systems. How does it work within graphic design? Or is this consider a part of graphic design? This also raise a question of how we draw lines between graphic design and other design practices?
Readings:
Visual storytelling (inspiring a new visual Language):
-light painting wifi (light painting signal strength in long exposure photographs)
-Footrace( which is faster: human or animal? people run with the image on sceen as an interactive learning experiences.
-Breakfast machine( a set of machine were presetned physically on a big board to tell storues of the theory)
These ideas gives me some inspiration of telling a story with a completely different create media rather than simply as posters.

WEEK 1 (22 Jan -28 Jan)
What I have learn from the previous module? Previously in the last module I have been working on "playfulness" in work, reflecting the value of working with materials to generate ideas and encourage the idea of play to enhance user experience. Through researching and testing on the question changes my way of working. Allow myself to set rules within play and follow into the game. In this module, I would like to carry the spirit of play and experimentation in researching into the next topic. Also it have been important to document my thoughts from time to time, so I would like to continue recording every steps on the research.
Why do I choose this topic? We were asked to create poster of three from earlier of the course to find out about our interest. The topic that comes to my mind is motion graphic, Virtual reality and sustainable design. From an architectural background, I am always interest in spaces and movements. I have choose to do virtual reality or widely XR as I saw the potential in utilizing these technology to create something that have never been possible within graphic design.
Enhancing storytelling: A proposal to ways in utilizing XR technology in art and design
