One of my favorite southern/Appalachian acts of mutual aid and love is never returning a container empty. If you borrow a Tupperware container (or sometimes a margarine container) you make something to fill it to give it back. Usually then, the person getting the container back can’t let you leave empty handed, so they give you another container. Filled with food. That you will have to return, filled with food.
