'The Lone Ranger'  Tradisi di kepala dari nenek moyang

The Lone Ranger adalah karakter fiksi: pria bertopeng mantan texas ranger dengan seorang pria petarung primitif Indian bernama Tonto. Mereka berdua melawan ketidakadilan di amerika barat. Kedua karakter tersebut telah menjadi cerita rakyat dan menjadi ikon bagi budaya Amerika.

The Lone Ranger pertama kali muncul pada tahun 1933 dalam sebuah acara radio di radio WXYZ [Detroit] dan George W. Trendle sebagai pemilik radio tersebut serta Fran Strike sebagai penulis naskah acara tersebut. Cerita ini terinspirasi dari Reeves Bass, Seorang pria sebagai petugas keaamanan federal legendaris di wilayah kekuasaan suku Indian.

The Lone Ranger mempunyai seekor kuda putih bernama silver, dia akan meneriakan kalimat pamungkasnya ‘Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!’ dan kalau ada orang yang melihat mereka maka orang tersebut akan bertanya ‘Who was that masked man,anyway?’ Tonto yang disebut sebagai The Lone Ranger biasa juga disebut ‘Ke-mo sah-bee’ yang berarti ahli pengintai atau teman terpercaya.

The Lone Ranger di filmkan ulang di tahun 2013 dan diproduksi oleh Walt Disney Pictures & Jerry Bruckheimer Films yang disutradarai oleh Gore Verbinski dan dibintangi oleh Armie Hammer sebagai jhon reid dan Johnny Depp sebagai Tonto. Film ini sebagai film teatrikal pertama yang menampilkan kembali karakter Lone Ranger lebih dari 32 tahun lalu.

Kisah heroik disertai humor tentang kelompok legendaris Texas Ranger dalam memburu sindikat yang dikomandoi oleh Butch Cavendish yang telah membunuh beberapa anggota Texas Ranger, lalu muncul lah Tonto sebagai petarung primitif dari suku indian asli yang juga gerah dengan ulah sindikat Butch Cavendish untuk  membantu dan belajar bekerjasama dengan Jhon Reid dalam memburu Butch Cavendish beserta kroco-kroconya.

Berhasil atau tidaknya Texas Ranger dan Tonto dalam misinya tentu bukan menjadi suatu hal yang menarik lagi, tetapi lebih kepada suatu hal yang dapat menghibur seperti cerita yang menghubungkan kita ke tempat yang lebih dalam yang ada di dalam diri kita dan apa yang membuat kita dapat merasakan sesuatu yang lebih-besar-daripada-kehidupan ini serta memberitahu kita tentang dunia yang kita hidupi? UNWATCHABLE

Save The Congo have released marc & ish's film UNWATCHABLE as part of their campaign to lobby the EU and mobile phone manufacturers to stop the trade in blood minerals in the Congo which is fuelling violence and mass rape. It is estimates that one person a minute is raped in the Congo. The film portrays the rape and killing of a family, but instead of setting the film in the Congo, Unwatchable is reconstructed in the rural idyl of England.

This film is very hard hitting. Please be warned.
