⚠️ IMPORTANT! ⚠️

Hi neighbors, I really hate to do this- but my family and I are facing eviction, and we desperately need help.

We're struggling to keep food in the house, and while I’ve been doing everything I can to get back on my feet after losing my job, it hasn’t been enough. The place I worked at was sold to a massive church and everyone was let go- the severance pay was almost nothing. I'm currently waiting for my license in the mail so I can begin a new job, but it’s taking time.

My parents aren’t contributing financially. My mom relies on her Etsy shop, and while I support her art, it hasn’t been sustainable. My dad has been focused on crypto and AI art, but hasn’t had a stable income either- and I’m not in a position to confront him due to a difficult and traumatic relationship. Our roommate doesn’t help with rent, and my brother only contributes when it benefits him.

At the same time, I’ve been trying to look after my 10-year-old sister. She and I have been neglected for most of our lives- homeschooled without real structure, no consistent health care, and very limited social interaction. It breaks my heart. I want to get her into school, make sure she’s healthy, and give her the support she deserves.

If I end up needing to move out of state, I may seek legal guardianship so I can take her with me and build a better life for both of us.

I’ve closed commissions for now until we’re in a more stable place, but I’m humbly asking for any help you can give- whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this around. I don’t have a GoFundMe (I don't have a bank account), but I do have a Ko-fi if you'd like to help that way.

One of my favorite stories to tell about myself from when I was a kid is the story how my grandma’s “Catching Fairies” game was banned because of me

So when I was really little my grandma had this game she made up, she’d give me and all my cousins jars and containers and tell us that in her garden there were fairies but they were smart and tricky so they disguised themselves as caterpillars and butterflies and as grasshoppers and worms.

Whoever caught the most ‘Fairies’ won but we had to set them all free because they tended to the garden

One summer day my brothers were at the age they were dreading ‘girly’ stuff so I was playing alone

At this point I had met all the fairies in the garden and I was getting bored without any competition and with finding the same old fairies

But then just as I was begrudgingly heading back to my grandma with the same fairies as usual I found a new fairy!

I thought she was so beautiful! She was resting on the sparkly thread in the leaves and her black body gleamed in the sunlight, she had long legs and a cool red spot on her back

Excited I coaxed her onto my hand and was so giddy I found a new one! I rushed back to the farm house to show my Grandma and Dad, gently carrying my new friend.

But when my Dad and Grandma turned around to see what fairy I caught I saw the color drain from their faces and both of them freeze, I could tell something was wrong but didn’t understand

My dad congratulated me and asked me if he could see the pretty fairy, I let him but felt a little nervous seeing how terrified he looked as she moved into his hands from mine.

Slowly he walked back towards the door, my grandma clutching my shoulders then my dad LAUNCHED the fairy back into the garden which I thought was rather rude

Then we had a nice long talk about Black Widow spiders

This took a long time to finish... I hope we learned something from this. It took so long that I think I've forgotten the whole process. This was meant for practice.

I tried some retro filters for the second image. You can see the art in its original resolution on my Ko-Fi. I didn't even think about how it would be compressed here. Well, you're only going to look at it for 2 seconds and keep scrolling. The care I put into the details was for the love of The Character!

I used several of Clip Studio's perspective rulers to get this to work. I'm sure I used them wrong. Frankly, I found them to be unruly, hah! I used a ruler from real life for some of the lines as well. I placed it directly on the tablet. I found a simple 3D model of a Polaroid camera which was also very helpful.

Ah! I almost forgot. The record player was supposed to be in my Frank and Eddie art, but I didn't know how to go about drawing one then... With the power of rulers (and references), I managed to do it!

My favorite part was doing the lineart.

🏵️ Blossom and her Papa! 🍎 This was supposed to be for Father's day, I wanted to draw the little one with Wally since I realized I never did it properly before (my bad).

Blossom developed a very strong bond with art thanks to her dad's influence. She has liked to draw with him ever since she was just a small bean!

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.

I am not a "content creator" I am a writer and artist. I do not make the works that an audience demands, or that I think will be popular. I make the works that I'm passionate about, when I'm passionate about them.

We need to go back to using sailing ships full time like immediately. Yes it would take longer to get places but the Aesthetic is unmatched
