How to Maximize Your Ultimate Rewards Points When Shopping on Amazon
As I was shopping on Amazon this weekend, I noticed something - it seems that Amazon has devalued how much Chase Ultimate Rewards are worth. Not too long ago, there was a 1.0 cent per point ratio, but now it’s 0.8 cents per point. This seems like a scam! I’m not sure why Amazon would do such a thing, but there’s a way to get around it to make sure you’re still getting that 1.0 cent per point ratio.
Instead of using your Ultimate Rewards directly through the Amazon website, pay with your desired credit/debit card, and get cash back or a statement credit for the amount you paid by logging into your Ultimate Rewards account through Chase.
Here’s how to do so:
1. Once you login, you’ll land on the homepage below:
2. Click on the “Use Points” dropdown, and click “Get Cash Back”, which will take you to the next screen below. You can click “Other Amount” and put it in the amount you wish to get back, by the cent. The next dropdown let’s you choose whether you want it as cash back through direct deposit or through a statement credit on one of your Chase credit cards. Click Continue and you’re all good to go!
Hopefully this helps the people that have been using their points directly on the Amazon site - this will allow you to save some points when shopping.

$10 off using Chase Pay
For the penny pincher, or the “broke college student” - I ran into a deal today. If you use a debit or credit card from Chase, you can use the ‘Chase Pay’ app and get $10 off your first restaurant order - valid until 12/31/2017. Do the following to receive your $10 off:
Download the ‘Chase Pay’ app for iOS or Android
Login with your chase online banking credentials
When you login, you should see the following screen (for iOS users):
4. Skim through the list and find the restaurant you’re looking for - all restaurants should have the check mark listed with ‘1 Offer’ next to it. Once you checkout, the $10 should automatically be applied to your order.
Enjoy!

The Uber Credit Card
I don’t think anyone has gave their thoughts about this credit card yet, so I wanted to give my thoughts about it on my first post.
I just received my Uber credit card – and here’s why it’s one of the best free credit cards out there and why I’m so excited to start using it!
You get a $100 bonus just for signing up and spending $500 within the first three months*
You receive 4% back on dining – this includes restaurants, takeout, and bars, including UberEats
You receive 3% back on hotel and airfare – this includes vacation rentals like AirBnB and HomeAway
You receive 2% back on online purchases – this includes Uber/Lyft, online shopping (Amazon), and subscription services like Netflix, Hulu, Spotify and Apple Music
You receive 1% back on all other purchases that you incur
*The bonus will be in the form of 10,000 points, which can be redeemed as Uber credits, statement credits, or gift cards.
On top of all the rewards mentioned above, you can receive a $50 credit on your subscription services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Spotify or Hulu after you spend $5,000 or more on the card per year. This should be easy if you’re an avid credit card user and use it like a debit card.
This card also covers up to $600 for phone damage or theft when you use it to pay your cell phone bill every month… that can be good for many of us who have a habit of dropping our phones often
There’s no foreign transaction fees with this card, so you can enjoy these benefits while traveling overseas as well!
Overall I think this is a great credit card if you’re not up for paying an annual fee, and rewards will build up over no time if you’re someone who likes to go out to eat and drink.
I’ve attached the link for this card below, let me know what you guys’ thoughts are and let me know if you have any questions!
