Wanted to draw Sun Wukong, but I also wanted to try my hand at drawing Zhu Bajie. Soooooo…. Why not both? =)

Twisters
So, I work with emergency services, and today they offered emergency workers and their families discounted tickets to see the movie Twisters today. After watching the trailer and seeing some opinions on the movie I decided "eh, why not" and went.
Keep in mind I haven't gone to the theatres in about a year, because movie ticket prices just keep rising and there's only been maybe one or two movies that I had mild interest in. Not enough interest to shell out the money for a movie ticket, though.
I go to the movies with one of my emergency services friends and the place is packed. The best part was that it was such a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. Everyone was talking to one another, catching up, and even making new acquaintances. A lot of good feelings all around and I loved it. Some people were even wearing these cute storm cloud earrings made by a local artist. The artist has an online store that I will link, but I definitely want a pair of my own.
My attitude at the beginning of the movie was that at least I'll get a few laughs if nothing else from this film. The trailer didn't impress me much, but I heard the director avoided making this what I call a "soapbox production" so I was willing to give it a shot. Walking out I realized that I was genuinely entertained by this movie and liked it.
The story flowed well, it wasn't saturated in preachy messages, the motivations of the main character made sense, had some humor that didn't feel forced, and it showed pretty closely what an area looks like after a tornado hits. The movie did dramatize some things, but that was expected so not a big deal in my book. My only wish was that it had more cows (haha). This movie is easily an 8/10 in my opinion.
Since this was an event for the emergency service workers in my area after the movie the American Red Cross had a vehicle parked outside the theatre that we could go take pictures with.

A small challenge for those of you who choose to go see the movie: try to find a similar vehicle in one of the scenes as the one in my pictures.
Cool fact: they filmed at least part of this movie in Oklahoma. Someone I grew up with says they were filming not far from where they live. By not far, I mean a couple roads down from them.
