the finger on his chin catches him by surprise, eyes wide as he looks up at eunyoung and he knows, he knows what’s about to come. oh, minhee, he knows its not as loud as it rings in his head, there isn’t pity in her voice, but he wishes there was, it would have been easier. he doesn’t say much, brows furrowing as he pulls away from her touch, swallowing hard. he knows eunyoung would never mean any harm for him, but he is so deep into his own head, he isn’t sure he can handle talking a bout it. but he gives it a go, a small nudge to actually speak to someone who wo wouldn’t tell him to suck it up “it’s just.. rough?” 

Eunyoung purses her lips together, and she lets out a sigh before biting the inside of her cheek. Eighty years is no short time for most people, and even then, Eunyoung still remembers how things were for her during her trainee years. Having some sense of self-worth took a while to settle in, and she expected that younger idols would have their shit put together easily. But why would that be a thing when barely anything has changed since then, anyway. She doesn't say a thing about Minhee's comment, and instead, she smiles sympathetically.

Body language experts will say that crossing arms during a conversation means that one of the parts is closing off from the conversation, and because Eunyoung doesn't want that to happen, she fumbles with her hands a little not knowing what to do with them before putting both hands on her hips. She supposes it could look bossy now, but she tries relaxing her shoulders when she finally lets out a sigh once he speaks. "I won't pretend to know what you're going through. I don't think I've ever had this much pressure on my shoulders from third parties, to begin with," she starts, and her tone couldn't be more sincere.

There is something between Minhee and Eunyoung that has always prompted her to be honest and straightforward, and that won't change now. "I suppose you're feeling disappointed by your injury. I would be, too, if I couldn't sing. But we're only human still, and we have limits, and if you keep pushing those limits, you'll only shorten the period you could be amazing on the stage. And then you'll only be more disappointed in yourself, and you'll be stuck in an infinite loop. I know. I've been there at the very least."

at that, kami gave a rueful smile. it was something she had accepted at this point, candy made music that made people smile. “i can’t wait to see either, sometimes i wonder what direction they want to take us so i can figure out what music i want to work on.” but it was clear, she wasn’t as invested as she was in eunyoung’s body of work. “if you ever want to come, let me know and i’ll be sure to get you in.” if it was a issue of getting the ticket, kami had it covered. “but, seeing calyposo’s rise, you might not have time for little old candy.”

Eunyoung raises an eyebrow at Kami, and she feels the smile curling up her lips. She praises herself for a lot of things, and being older and wiser sometimes is part of the bunch of things she's proud of. Sometimes, though, she's caught off-guard, and instead of feeling anxious about it like she would in the past, Eunyoung feels warm and nice when Kami starts listing her songs. "I must admit, I don't think I expected you to know our songs this well," she says finally as Eunyoung swirls the rest of her drink around her cup. "I mean, there are fans who would just point out our more famous releases, which is fine, of course. I didn't expect a Candy member to know songs like Nothing Lasts Forever."

Eunyoung leans over the counter and uses her hand as support for her head as she looks at Kami. "What kind of music would you like to do, though? Are you happy with the direction Candy is taking?" The question comes out before she has time to process if that is insensitive to ask or not. She has her reasons, too as someone who didn't enjoy her songs a whole lot for a while, she wouldn't be surprised if that's the case with other idols. "Trust me. I won't ever be too busy for Candy. You girls lift my mood and give me boosts of energy. Attending a concert is all I can ask for during these times of work chaos."

 “and we’ll make it last! for months! no! years!” hopeless naive on yena’s part but she really wanted to believe it. didn’t they get to have this? after all the years they had suffered? a long, tense silence followed after eunyoung’s confession. “i did too.” yena nodded softly, eyes focussed on her hands folded in her lap. “i love you guys, and i’d want to stay with you but- for a while it had been increasingly frustrating you know? all our efforts not paying off. and then the meeting happened and- it scared me. because on the one hand it felt like i had been wasting my time for years and how could i possibly give up on something i put so much time and effort into. on the other hand… what if i was only wasting more time and opportunities for something that would just… never go anywhere.” she lifted up her gaze, smiling watery at eunyoung. “so i’m really glad things are better now. i’d much rather do this with all of you than by myself.”

Eunyoung wishes that she could have more of Yena's free spirit inhabiting her. She doesn't think many people would say that that is a healthy lifestyle to be followed, but Eunyoung, with her inherent oldest child syndrome, wishes she could pull her head out of her ass and just do whatever. Eunyoung chuckles and shakes her head fondly, "how can you hold as much alcohol as you do still is one of the biggest mysteries I have yet to uncover," she comments as she squeezes Yena's hand. "And mimosas do have a more celebratory feel to them. Shots are for times of desperation," Eunyoung says as she raises her cup to her lips.

Eunyoung smiles warmly toward Yena. The pure enthusiasm was enough to make Eunyoung's heart fill with wonders about the future. And then they get serious. Eunyoung listens to Yena's worries and nods her head a couple of times before letting out a sigh. "For all that matters, I've always loved being in a group with you girls. It wasn't the easiest path, but even with all the downs we had together, I'm glad that I was able to see you all pursue amazing things and stand out," which is the purest truth. Despite her heavy heart, whenever she waved her group members goodbye as they went on their separate schedules, Eunyoung was always their number one supporter. "I'm not going to say that persevering finally paid off, though, because it sounds like a tasteless thing to say. We shouldn't have to work as much as we did for a decade to just see the results now, but regardless, I'm glad things turned out the way they did." Eunyoung reaches out to Yena and pinches her nose affectionately, "it looks like I'll have to look after you for a little while longer, then. I can't wait."

SUMMARY: Eunyoung has some regrets about something that happened five years ago, and she decided that now, during the busiest time she ever had in her career was the best time to reach out and get in touch with a lost lover. This also has 555 words because why the hell not.

Five years ago, Eunyoung ended one of her most meaningful romantic relationships for apparent no reason.

Hwang Jiho was a good friend of hers during college. They met in the academic setting and started getting closer as the months went by. If anyone asked her, Eunyoung would have said that she didn't go to university with the intentions of knowing people or getting a boyfriend, but as younger people say: Jiho was a man written by a woman. 

She didn't come to this café to reminisce about the old relationship that she ended. And it's not even the first time she came to this place since their break-up, but as soon as she seats by the window in a similar spot where they had their fated conversation, it all comes rushing to her.

Eunyoung was never the most popular member of her already flop group, so it's not like she had many crazy and possessive fans to worry about, so when she went to university, it was almost as if she was a regular student. Jiho and Eunyoung met during the reception, and maybe because they were both older than the majority of the other students, they just clicked and got along together.

 One thing led to another, and classmates became friends who ended up sticking together a lot more often in and out of campus. They started their relationship six months after becoming closer, and for ten months, Eunyoung was very happy.

Jiho was probably the one ordinary relationship she ever had. No ego fights or endless talks about how the entertainment industry was starting to destroy their souls. It was simple and good, and he made her happy. Jiho made her feel those butterflies in her stomach, and they went on dates in places that she never thought she would ever go. They went on new adventures and sometimes had the most comfortable time staying at each other's apartments. They had a lot in common, but Jiho was the calming force that balanced Eunyoung's artist energy. 

She would be lying if she said that at some point in the ten months they were together, Eunyoung didn't think they could spend the rest of their lives together. And then she got scared.

A commitment wasn't the thing that scared her away, and to be fair, Eunyoung doesn't know what pushed her as far as calling things off with Jiho . They weren't going through any complicated moments in their relationship neither parts were uninterested or cheating on the other. As far as she's aware, she was still as in love with him as he was with her. 

Many outside factors might have added to this. Eunyoung's father's death, Calypso's recurrent problems to stand their ground and release songs, and money issues. None of it justifies it, but those were the reasons she used it at the time and even now.

It has been five years since, and she doesn't expect him to have the same phone number, but Eunyoung tries anyway.

I have to start this one by saying that, even if a movie was made out of Eunyoung’s life, it wouldn’t be all that exciting, but it would have a very good soundtrack at the very least. Once upon a time, when Eunyoung was still a little kid, and financial crisis was still upon many people’s heads, Eunyoung’s parents weren’t having the greatest of times. They might not be musicians, but they played this song at the house numerous times. She doesn’t think they even knew what they were singing about, but there is something about music that is just magical, isn’t there?

What can she say? She has been working in the industry for more than ten years now and just started making some decent money in the last couple of months. If that was a thing, you’d have seen Eunyoung working some hours in some type of odd job because it paid more than being an idol, but as a singer, she persevered. She goes on trying to make her way.

I wouldn’t leave Taylor Swift out of this one, are you kidding? This one is about a failed relationship that she had with an NPC that I’ll further develop somehow. Thing is: her partner might have been the best thing that has ever happened to Eunyoung, and instead of diving into it, she broke things off. It doesn’t mean she wasn’t heartbroken at the end of it.

I imagine this song would play at the two-thirds part of the movie when things were going well, and then something happens, and everything goes down the drain. Eunyoung had many of those moments when she thought the light at the end of the tunnel was visible and ended up disappointed when things didn’t work out.

There is nothing much to say about this one besides: this is her present. This is Eunyoung living the life she had believed and imagined for herself ever since she was a little kid back in Jeonju. She has been waiting for the good part of her story to arrive, and it’s finally here. She couldn’t be more amazed by what that means.

“i’m a fan as well.” calypso had debuted before her but they hadn’t hit their peak. still, their sound and image was something that kami was drawn too. "congratulations as well, rollin is a great song.” she was truly happy that the song soared back up at the charts. it was the time to celebrate. “it’s perfect for summer.”

Eunyoung chuckles and raises her glass as in for a cheer. She takes a sip of her drink and leans her head on her hand. "Well, thank you. Rollin has created quite a buzz these days, but it still surprises me when someone mentions they know our song," she says truthfully before sitting straight and turning towards Kami properly.

"I'm looking forward to seeing what Candy will bring out to the game again. Your songs never fail to cheer me up," Eunyoung says truthfully as she smiles over her glass and titls her head to the side. "Now that Calypso is doing better, maybe I will even try to go to your concerts too. I've heard they are super fun to attend."

Eunyoung isn't someone who's necessarily meddling, or at least she tries not to be. She worries for her friends and juniors and tries to keep an eye on them from time to time, but she's no one's mother, and she knows that most people would be annoyed by the intrusive nature of her questions. Unfortunately for Minhee though, having an injury as severe as a twisted ankle applies to the occasions Eunyoung will be annoying and pry into his business. "I'd like to know when a twisted ankle became nothing more and not an emergency," she tells him sternly, probably more than she had ever been towards him before. "And you're a dancer, Minhee. How is this something to be looked over?"

Eunyoung looks him over and crosses her arms in front of her chest. She sighs loudly and clicks her tongue, and this might as well be the most annoyed she has been on behalf of another person. She has known Minhee for a very long time and has checked Polaris' activities ever so often since their rise in popularity and countless milestones. To be fair, the last thing he might want is to have an older failed girl group member telling him what to do, and the thought runs through her mind. Fortunately or not, she brushes it off.

She reaches out to him and raises his chin with her forefinger to take a better look at him. Eunyoung might not be the closest to Polaris or even Minhee these days since he's busier these days, but even she can see that this isn't his usual. "Oh, Minhee," she says, and despite her words she's not pitying him. She does wonder how someone could let someone who's usually so bright get to this point though. "You don't have to if you don't want to, but you know you can talk to me, right? Whatever is on your mind, I'm not just your senior. I'm your friend."

i’d like to say that i’m discouraged by this site at the moment. they deleted my account for my second muse without warning, and they took with them all my plots, and already written tasks. i’ll log off for today and see if i can try and save it tomorrow. i hate it here, thx.

In this essay, I'll do myself a favor and separate my thoughts on Eunyoung's results in the big five personality traits.

Openness to experience

I think that if she had taken this test a couple of years ago, her results for openness would be drastically different. She has always been curious and imaginative, but it was only in recent years that she started to pay closer attention to details, and let herself connect and feel all those emotions. She's a singer, so in a way, being connected to her feelings should be a must, but her real link to that only bloosomed in recent years. 67% is quite high, however, I do disagree with the part where they describe unpredictability or lack of focus. I think Eunyoung is one of the easiest people to read. She wears her feelings in her sleeves and is straight to the point most of the time. She might not have a lot done, but it's not for lack of focus but for lack of opportunity.

Conscientiousness

I'm not surprised that this one isn't higher, and that's mainly because of this sentence: "Strive for achievement against measures or outside expectations." It's not a secret that Eunyoung has been struggling for years now to know her place not only in the industry but in Calypso, too. She has always wanted to be under the public's eye, but in the moment she realized there was no use in trying to rise her popularity, Eunyoung simply stagnated.

Extraversion

Eunyoung is an extrovert. She's the person who talks to everyone in the room and shakes hands, and knows everyone's names. She knows your birthday, and even your cat's name for all that matter. The thing about her is that she is very good at small talk and sharing useless information. She likes being surrounded by people and enjoys going out for social interactions. It doesn't surprise me that it's her highest number.

Agreeableness

I recently noticed that Eunyoung is the second oldest muse in Famed, and while that wasn't always the case, I think that being the oldest in most situations, independetly of which version I brough of her has this responsible effect on her. She's not the type of person who confronts others a whole lot and prefers to solve things with as little conflict as possible. Of course, that's not a hundred percent of the time, since she's neither a judge or an angel, but she has that leadership skills that helps her in social situations.

Neuroticism

Do I wish this was lower? Yes. Do I regret pushing her to a place of easy stress constantly? Also, a yes, at least a little bit. Negative thoughts aren't a surprise for Eunyoung, and she's aware of how much this affects her. To be fair, with her historic, there wasn't a lot of reason to expect better results, and she's still waiting for the moment Calypso will go back to stake one, and they'll be in trouble again.

August 2007

Her classmates appoint Eunyoung as class president in her senior year in high school. There is a whole lot she learned in school, and she was one of the top students when it came to her grades already, but true responsibility came all because of this new title. She takes a lot of what she learned here to her adult life.

January 2009

The day Eunyoung signed with Dimensions and became a trainee. At that time, she was a hundred percent sure that she would succeed and believed wholeheartedly that she was meant for stardom. This was the first time Eunyoung faced people who were a lot more capable, and talented than her.

July 9th, 2010

The day of her debut couldn't be left aside. Despite being disastrous in Eunyoung's opinion, this is her start in the industry. Not many people know her from this moment, but she only had the chance to do whatever she did in the past decade thanks to her debut. She doesn't have fond memories of the time since she was a little ball of anxiety, but it still is a very important moment in her life.

May 8th, 2016

The day her dad passes away. Calypso had just started promotions for Wild, and she couldn't attend the funeral because her schedule clashed with all the rest of the ceremonies and preparations for the burial. She couldn't take a flight or drive there for the first couple of days after his death. She did take a break after the first week of promotions to be with her family, though.

March 2022

Eunyoung thought a lot about giving up on being an idol before they went viral and started topping the charts. She thought about putting her degree to use and was even looking for jobs, talking to her former teachers and university colleagues. If it wasn't for their explosive surge of popularity, Eunyoung wouldn't be an idol anymore.

2. What is your muse’s fatal flaw / biggest flaw? (108)

Eunyoung has a strong will, but she has become a lot softer in the past few years. She tends to put herself down or lower her expectations way too often. Who can blame her after the years she had, after all, but even now that they are doing well, Eunyoung can be read as a pessimist. She doesn't think this fame will last, and if it does, she won't be one of the beneficiated people. Eunyoung is the best person to have when someone is feeling down, but she refuses the favor back and believes she has to go through her stuff by herself. She self-isolates very easily.

3. What is one of your muse’s core values? Name a situation where they might consider sacrificing/changing this core value. (105)

Eunyoung is very dependable, so I'll go with dependability for this one. Eunyoung tries to be true to her word always. She's straightforward with her opinions and with her actions, and she'll let others lean on her and do what she proposed to do with no more and no less. To make her not follow that pattern, she would have to be convinced of something else. She's very stubborn at times, so that might be a little bit of a challenge, but regardless, if she's convinced that another option is the most agreeable, she might go back with her words and act with another plan.

4. What does your character want more than anything else in the world? Is this a conscious desire or a subconscious one? (110)

She wants to have a life with no regrets, and at this moment, it's more of a subconscious wish than not. Eunyoung already had that in mind before, when she was younger and more naive and gullible. She has lost that innocence over the years, but now that she's doing better, and that Calypso is seeing better days, Eunyoung wishes to have the rest of her career without fearing what's to come. She doesn't want to not take risks because there is no perspective of when things will change. She wants to be allowed to do all the things she couldn't do before and do her very best to thrive.

5. As a mun, if you could give your muse one piece of advice, what would it be? (110)

Oh, baby, you're so much more than you think you are. Time and people have told you that you're a dispensable part of the team, but there is so much wasted potential in you. You're capable of doing a whole lot more than you're given the credit for, and it shows in how you hold yourself. The moment you realize you're much more than just the lead vocalist of a failed group, you'll know the world is your oyster, and you can only thrive after that. You have to start believing that you're capable of doing things first before things change, though otherwise it'll be like repeating the same mistakes.

they didn’t take themselves too serious with the whole thing, it was more than an excuse to play dress-up and pretend more than anything else, blending in seamlessly with the trophy wives vacating the premises. still, it was nice, dressing up fancy, enjoying tea and little pastries with complicated names as they enjoyed the view of the mountains. “fame really changed us.” yena hummed in amusement, smiling at eunyoung over the rim of the porcelain teacup, breathing in it’s sweet fruity scent. “maybe if we order mimosas or something we’ll feel a little bit more like ourselves. getting back to our roots and all that.” or well, yena’s at the very least. “it’s nice though.” she sighed contently. “this, i mean. definitely a once in a lifetime thing but, it has it’s charm no?”

Eunyoung wouldn't say that Yena is the person who brings the best in her. Despite all the love she has for the youngest member of Calypso, being introspective in the presence of Nam Yena isn't part of the usual routine Eunyoung has for herself. And yet, that's exactly how she starts to feel now, as they sit in front of each other, surrounded by strangers in an unfamiliar place, living a singular moment of their careers.

"I don't think mimosas are even part of our usual repertoire. I'm pretty sure I've seen you turn soju straight from the bottle, and if you didn't, then it pretty much sounds like something you'd be able to do," Eunyoung says humorously with no tones of judgment or resentment in her voice. Yena has indeed given her some headaches in the past, but that free spirit mentality has also saved Eunyoung from having very boring days. She chuckles and takes a sip of her tea on the porcelain that she wouldn't be able to pay for if they broke it. "I'm savoring it while it lasts. It was not in my plans for this year, but it's a very welcomed change of pace," Eunyoung says with a small smile. "I thought about quitting after our conversation with the bosses at the beginning of the year," she admits for the first time, "when they said they didn't have money to invest in us, I thought about leaving. So, this, whatever it is, I'm very thankful for it."

however, it seemed that there was a saving grace in a better distraction in the form of a good friend, eunyoung. he would be able to use the books now for off times while in the resort, but knowing him, he would be doing so many things, that perhaps the books might go unread. he nodded his head in agreement, “i think even if we didn’t, it was still going to happen,” he said, giggling happily. “but, i’m really happy that calypso is finally getting what they deserve! i’m really proud of you, noona,” he says, his smile growing. “i still wonder what the fortune teller meant about love happening… i think i have an idea? but, i don’t know! maybe it was just about writing more love songs.” he giggles. 

Eunyoung can only describe this moment of her life and career as living on cloud nine. She never had such a high like this before and she has been enjoying every moment of it ever since. With their history and luck, Eunyoung wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly didn't have the same success or hype the following day. However, today, she's finally living the life she had always wanted for herself and her group. "I'm very proud of us, too, Duri," Eunyoung tells him truthfully. "I'm genuinely excited for what's to come, and it has been a while since I've been excited about anything regarding Calypso."

Eunyoung takes that chance to lightly poke Duri's arm, and her cheeky grin is too wide at this point to try to conceal it. "What do you mean 'you might have an idea?' If that's the case, then it can pretty much be about whoever you're thinking, silly." Admittedly, Eunyoung shouldn't be so excited about someone else's love life, but since her own has nothing interesting happening, investing in others' doesn't sound so bad. And Duri is her friend, and she likes to know what this is all about. "I'll be your number one supporter if you write more love songs, but also, when was the last time you were in a relationship again? Is a relationship even something you'd be looking for right now?"
