fmdjeonghwa:
jeonghwa took a quick peek around the corner just to make sure she wouldn’t be walking in a young impressionable girl who, for one, didn’t know her very well, and two, might be genuinely concerned for her well-being. luckily, the intended party, a little bit of salt water, was the only of the chroma girls currently in their back room.
she snatched the opportunity before it could slip away, thumping her way into the room and flopping back onto a small loveseat sofa with as much noise as she could muster. her arms flung out, one on the back of the sofa, one dangling towards the floor, and even her legs made an attempt, though the desire to not be scolded had them close enough to not willingly expose her hot pants. skirts.
“i think i’m dying. i need twenty ice packs on me, stat.” dramatics as ever, her back of couch strung arm tossed itself over her face. “you’d think mother nature would learn not to have us perform in the rain anymore, but alas, she must have disowned us.” sudden movements once again, jeonghwa reached out to bada, in her haste having to catch herself from rolling off the couch, but eventually being able to take one of bada’s hands in her own to continue, “please, young inyeong, watch… your step…”
@fmdinyeong
There was very little love in Inyeong’s heart for the idols from Dimensions. She knew it was probably a reciprocated thing, especially the ones that had trained with her when she was there, so she rarely went out of her way to interact with them if it was possible. Sure, Inyeong had a particular dislike towards the members of 7rophy that didn’t apply so much to everybody else, but the less she had to interact with them the better. Which was why, when someone else arrived at the room and she saw who it was, Inyeong could do nothing but let out a heavy sigh.
Jeonghwa was like a rash. No matter how much you wanted to get rid of it, it would only grow bigger. If there was someone in the entirety of the industry who could not take a hint, it was her. And yet Inyeong still allowed for her to stick around, against her better judgement. “Yah, I was watching your stage, you didn’t even fall, dumbass.” As Jeonghwa threatened to fall, Inyeong didn’t reach out to keep from it, but the other girl still reached out and Inyeong had no option but to take her hand to prevent herself from falling as well.
“You can be such an idiot sometimes,” Inyeong rolled her eyes, shoving Jeonghwa back into the couch and pulling her hand back. “Why are you here bothering me and not somewhere else bothering your group members or some other friend of yours?”

fmdtaeyong:
“i did, and i’m not complaining.” he gives her a soft smile, eyes scanning the stairway to take note of his environment. it might not have been where he’d have picked to hide himself, but he usually ended up feeling too guilty to even keep hiding out, so he isn’t going to judge. before he’d come upon inyeong, he’d been weighing the pros and cons of sneaking into the main part of the hotel and buying a room for the night just so his manager wouldn’t be able to find him.
“oh, i might meet your manager then?” ash makes a point of reaching up to smooth down one side of his hair. “i’ll make sure i make a good first impression.” he smiles again and then looks down at the stairs underneath them, fatigue pulling it off of his face. even the energy it takes to smile reminds him of how tired he is.
“it’s only obvious because chroma hasn’t debuted yet.” trainee life itself might be practice networking for some, but ash had never been sociable or ruthlessly ambitious enough for that to be the case. “otherwise, i wouldn’t have guessed. you look like a regular belle of the ball in that dress and escaping to the stairwell is the move of a seasoned professional if i do say so myself.” he looks back up again. “i’ve been to more than i can count, unfortunately. at the risk of sounding like some fake deep idealist, i didn’t really get into music because i wanted to attend the business events.” he shifts, leaning an arm back on the stair above him. “makes sense they’d invite you, though. chroma’s their big project for their twenty-fifth year. and you’re the first girl. a pretty big deal.”
Downing the rest of her drink, Inyeong feels her face contorting into what must be a mix of surprise and exasperation. Furrowed brows, she turns to Ash with a slightly smirk on her face. “You don’t have to make a good first impression to my manager of all people,” she scoffs, shaking her head. The flute of champagne is put down on the floor and Inyeong reaches under her dress for her heels, so they can rest on her lap. “She’s super difficult to impress anyway, so I don’t know if you would succeed,” Inyeong adds some extra teasing to her voice, the two glasses she had consumed enough to lower some of her inhibitions and make her lean on playfulness. “It all depends on how much you want her to think highly of you, and how important it is that she does.”
The reminder that Chroma’s debut is further than Inyeong would like for it to be leaves a sour taste in her mouth. She licks her lips, looking down at her fingers. Her nails are extra long today, a necessity to complement her look, apparently, and she can’t wait to get rid of them. It’s an inconvenience. It reminds her of the rest of Chroma. She still snorts at his words. “Honestly? I kept thinking about all the movies I’ve watched where the main character does something like this. It sounded fun and I don’t think I’m going to have another opportunity to do it, so I thought why not? Worst case scenario someone finds me and someone already did.” Inyeong points at him with one of her fingers, resists the temptation of leaning closer and poking his cheek with the tip of her stiletto nails. “And now we’re both in better company than we would’ve been if we had stayed inside.”
Inyeong lets out a sigh, tapping her fingers against her cheeks. “What do you think?” She asks him, gaze drifting away, scanning the room. “About Chroma, I mean. Do you think we’re a good idea or do you think BC is too unnecessarily ambitious?”

fmdandy:
“you, pitching?” andy raised a brow, “i’d have pegged you a catcher. or, you know, a home base. lay there and wait to get stepped on.” he laughed at himself, to what others might say was too much for weak euphemism, but that andy considered exactly right. damn he was funny. as he teetered off, he tossed out a waving hand, saying, “yeah, i’ll suggest it.” between the two of their suggesting, andy figured none of their teammates would disagree. and if they did, they’d have to prove their skills to him to change his mind -unlikely they would, too.
shoes on, andy stood up and started a stretching process. “what you sayin about girls anyway? never took you for one of those frilly girly types. thought you were one of the guys. no dirt on them?”
Inyeong scoffed. “What? You think I can’t pitch? Because I’m skinny and small, then I can’t pitch?” There was no actual offense to be taken, not when Inyeong didn’t really care about this game and neither had she trained it like she had other sports, but Andy was infuriating in its own right and she still found herself rolling her eyes at his words. People often doubted her skills when it came to everything and whereas there was a time when that was understandable, Inyeong thought that, by now, she deserved at the very least the benefit of the doubt. “I like confusing people. It’s fun when they don’t know what to do with my pitches. And my swing is not good enough for me to be a decent batter.”
“One of the guys? What are you implying?” Inyeong reached out to stretch out her wrists, pulling her fingers back while keeping her arms straight. “I’m not interested in being a pick me girl, I just don’t like the girls in my life. Well, most of them at least, but I also don’t like the guys in my life. So I guess I dislike and don’t pay attention to everybody equally.”

fmdtaeyong:
there’s too much ash hates about idol life to make a ranking of the worst aspects. the limitations on his freedom, the fans who remain purposefully ignorant of boundaries, the identity crisis inherent with being a public figure. they’re all somewhere around the top of the list, joined by business events. networking isn’t his thing and neither is being trotted around like a prize pony to brush shoulders with people who don’t care about talking to him as anything more than another name to drop among a list next time they want to brag about all the celebrities they’ve met.
he arrives about a half an hour late to the gala, sneaking in and trying to draw as little attention as possible to himself, and still, he’s of half a mind to leave after only an hour of hovering around, acting overly interested in the drinks to dissuade anyone from coming to talk to him. he sees his chance and takes it, slipping out and searching for a place to hide out until he either gets so anxious his absence has been noticed that he forces himself to return or he gets the courage up to ditch the whole charade early.
he’s in his own head, so he doesn’t even notice inyeong is there until she speaks up and he comes to a slow halt at the realization. “i was…” he considers lying to her, that he only needed fresh air, but he lets one curtain of the show slip because she already knows enough that it won’t be a revelation. “yeah, kind of. i was looking for a place to hide or an exit door. whichever i found first.” his feet move forth again, leading him over to the stairs, where he joins her. do they need to run into each other one more time like this before it stops being coincidental by the laws of the universe? “is this your first… business event like this?”
A part of her wishes Inyeong was the focus of anyone’s attention. It’s what she wants, after all, for people to pay attention to her. To be that person who can walk into a room and draw everybody else’s eyes to her. Being indifferent to attention is simply not something one can be when they work as an idol, at least not if they want life to not be as difficult, so Inyeong wants. But she’s no one. She’s the leader of a group that hasn’t debuted, a group that people are already starting to believe might be a mistake because of an inherent dispute between fans of the two halves. A group with a concept far too ambitious for BC to truly commit to it, one that might never come close to hitting the highs of the ones before them. Inyeong is terrified of that possibility and yet there’s very little she can do as an individual to remedy that.
So being at a party where people are not even there to give her attention is… It’s boring, really. If she wanted to see other people being pampered and showered with praises and compliments, Inyeong would have stayed home, watching a drama. The best alternative of her night is to sit by those stairs with the company of only one person who will actually listen to what she has to say, who’ll actually look at her, not at anyone else. If she can’t charm an audience, she might as well attempt to charm one guy. “Well, you found me first,” Inyeong smiles at him, holding her flute up in a salute. “I can’t promise my manager won’t come looking for me eventually, but I think she’ll leave me be for a few more minutes if you want to take a breather here.”
“Is it that obvious?” Inyeong likes to believe it isn’t blatant to just anyone that she’s never done something like this before, but she reckons it probably comes as a non-brainer considering how she’s just recently debuted. It’s not as if she would’ve had opportunities in the past. “I went to a company dinner last year, but definitely wasn’t something like this. Don’t really know why I got an invitation but my manager told me it would be important for me to come, so here I am.” Inyeong takes a sip of her drink, folding her legs in front of her and adjusting her long dress for comfort. “What about you? How many of these have you attended in the past… whatever many years you’ve been an idol?”

fmdminjung:
seven years ago since she was a fresh faced rookie, and by now, she’s lost any sense of recollection. lost what it feels like to assimilate to the clamor and noise of the bustling rookie lifestyle — only remembers the incessant back and forth schedules of having her words already written for her and delicately placed on her tip of her tongue.
an effect of alcohol, and minjung narrows her eyes, doesn’t say word. pretends she believes everything spoken for face value before polishing off the acknowledgment with a smidge of a smirk. “you don’t need to accept everything with an open heart — the future, from my take, is given with so many generous opportunities that you’ll be filled full to the point you won’t want another bite. you’re never allowed to be a picky eater in this world, so better have a heady appetite.”
minjung leaves her shot glass to dangle in the air, watching the trickle of alcohol pour from the brim of the bottle. funny how time changes all, and now she’s on the receiving end neck-deep in the stories of the past. “i’m a simple gal, give me a farm in the countryside and i’ll think the fresh sesame leaves are some quality you can’t match. love perspective, it’s a fine tool, i’d say.” her eye fishes out a coy wink before emptying out another shot with a quick throw of her head back. “and by the way, declining alcohol is a case by case basis. decline me all you want tonight, i won’t care — i think talks are worth more than the clinks of our glasses.”
A future filled with so many opportunities Inyeong would be able to decline some? That was definitely a dream. She had worked hard to be where she was, in such a way that her younger self would have questioned her on where all that determination came from. A bite on her ass had pushed Inyeong forward but now that she was closer and closer to getting what she wanted, Inyeong found the path to be far too treacherous and uninviting for her to know what to expect. She didn’t do well with surprises or lack of planning. Not anymore. Not since.
“But I’m not in that future yet, sunbae,” she pointed out, pursing her lips. Inyeong carried about just as much admiration for the Fuse members as she did envy. It didn’t leak into her tone or her words, much less her attitude, but it was there. Always simmering under the surface. “So I’m at that point where I’m supposed to accept anything they want to give me. And I do, gladly.” She rushed to add with a smile. “It’s what they expect from us.”
The thought of living on a farm sent a chill down Inyeong’s spine. It was truly the worst case scenario for her. She wanted the fame and the luxury that came with it, wanted to one day be able to revel in what she had accomplished, and the mere thought of ending up embroiled in farm life was repulsive. “Ah, yes, that’s… Very simple minded,” she pushed down a snort. “My father taught me never to decline alcohol.” That wasn’t a lie, at least. “And I appreciate talking over the glasses, but I’m afraid I don’t know if I can keep you entertained for long.”

who gives a fuck if this game was meant to be for fun? andy sure didn’t. he never entered a competition just for “the experience” and would bet anyone that said they did was just lying, and a loser. andy kuo was a motherfucking winner, and didn’t intend to give his title to anyone else. not all of his team was going to agree with him on that, which, as infuriating as that could be, he dealt with enough when it came to isac.
blessings came in those who did, like walking into a change room to see inyeong. one of least annoying things about her was her penchant for sports and competition. one of the most… well, same thing. here, though, they were on the same team, which meant sliding onto the bench beside her, and checking her shoulder with his was a move he was more than willing to make. “you ready to kick some fucking ass?” andy bent down to lace up his cleats while he kept speaking, “you seen the other team? i saw a couple of ‘em. only real threat is hyunsoo.” fortunately? unfortunately? he couldn’t decide. “dude’s thing is hockey, though. don’t know if he’ll step up here.”
@fmdinyeong
Inyeong had excelled in every single sport she had participated in as a child, not because of a natural talent for them, but because of her sheer competitiveness and determination to win. She would get bored often of the activities her parents would sign her up for, but during the time she was in them, she was in. She would go all in, giving one hundred and fifty percent of herself in order to be the best. The possibility of being the best was just not something Inyeong welcomed for herself. So it didn’t matter to her that this softball match was just for fun as she would either win or win.
Having Andy on her team might be an inconvenience from the sheer fact that Andy was annoying but she knew that he would be determined to win about as much as she would be. “Yeah, I don’t know, I’m feeling confident,” Inyeong shrugged, rolling up the sleeves of her shirt. “I don’t think any of the girls in the other team are going to be good at it, so as long as the ones on our team don’t fuck it up we definitely have a chance.” She rolled her shoulders. “Think I can start pitching?”

fmdminjung:
minjung learns something when she first drinks with her father — it’s the excuse of downing a shot with no repercussions of a grimace. tongue pressed down, the alcohol doesn’t touch, instead it glides down her throat before she wipes away the edges of her lips with her finger.
still, she’s too sober, and the aftermath of the staff-idol dinner still marches on. so, she attempts some sanity with small talk, painting on a smile towards the new face.
“i’m sure this night will just be one of a million for what you have coming up — once your group starts to become paraded with the stars of spotlight, you’ll be served free food and drinks left and right.” as with any brand deal or the end of the tour celebrations, but her own experiences have left her at a limbo when the full-group fuse dinners become replaced with solo meetings, and solo productions.
wistfulness? or drowning in nostalgia? minjung refuses to acknowledge the beginnings of whatever emptiness ensues. instead, she pours herself another glass, raising the bottle once more. “i’m having the time of my life — wearing my new squeaky clean shoes and drinking soju. i feel like a new woman, nothing better or more i could ask for.” minjung declares, a false sense of grandiose included. “do you want another shot? feel free to say no, i’m offering for polite measures in case you wanted to clink again.”
Fuse was amongst the groups that knew very well the luxuries that could come with being an idol. Minjung, above others, maybe, wasn’t a stranger to endorsements and being gifted shit that she could possibly afford with her own money. Inyeong found that she envied them— not only their lives and their music, but also their skills. All besides the maknae brought something interesting to the group, which functioned like a well-oiled machine, and Inyeong craved that as much as she did the lifestyle. “I hope you’re right, but for now I’m glad to be given this generous opportunity.” Bullshit. Maybe Minjung would see through her, maybe not. Inyeong didn’t care.
Inyeong wasn’t the best at reading people. She never claimed to be and wasn’t interested to do so. She knew it was a useful skill in the business, but it would require a level of energy to be spent paying attention to others that she wasn’t willing to exert. Inyeong vaguely wished she had it, now, speaking to someone whose tone she couldn’t read, whose words she couldn’t read into. She would just have to assume Minjung was being as genuine as an idol in this industry could be.
“Nothing more you could ask for? I don’t know, I’m sure you’ve been given higher quality things in the past,” Inyeong pointed out, reaching for the bottle again. “Yes, let me pour.” She shouldn’t drink too much, but Inyeong would argue with her manager that it would be impolite to deny her senior something. She poured the shots, emptying the bottle and putting it aside. “Isn’t it rude to decline alcohol?”

hanbyulfmd:
WHEN / WHERE: June 11th, the Idol League softball game WITH: you, perhaps? ;o
It felt like a century ago since Hanbyul had last played softball. A century was clearly a gross overstatement but actually, thinking of it, it might’ve very well been close to a decade. He was athletic but most of the time he preferred to stick to activities he could do on his own. The game today had been an oddly refreshing change of pace, however, and looking back on it now Hanbyul felt a giddy sort of lightness he hadn’t really felt since– well. Since hearing about Element’s disbandment.
“This was fun,” he hummed, turning to look at the person next to him. His smile, for once, was a little brighter, a little less heavily armoured than the usual polite mask he wore for the outside world. “More fun than I expected it to be, honestly.” Realizing that not everyone had full say over what they were doing and where they were supposed to show up he stopped and dropped his gaze to his feet, teeth tugging at his bottom lip. “I hope you had fun too…?” His fingers toyed with the cap of the water bottle in his hands. “I haven’t played softball in a really long time. I was a little nervous about it but I probably just worried for nothing.” His laugh was soft, a little awkward. He wasn’t good at this filling the silence thing but he’d never get better at it if he didn’t work on it, right?
There was a satisfaction, both physical and mental, that came after any type of exercise. Inyeong chased that type of thrill, the momentary feeling of happiness that would inevitably leave and left her feeling slightly hollow again. There was sweat running down her face, not at all accustomed to the Californian summer, when she was approached by the man. He was from Element— key word being was, her brain supplied— but she failed to come up with a name. “It wasn’t hard to notice you haven’t played in a while,” they weren’t in a professional setting, Inyeong didn’t feel like she was obliged to be professional. “You were lagging a bit at first,” maybe it’s the age? she considered saying, then bit the comment back. “But if you had fun, that’s definitely what matters, right?”
One trait of hers had carried Inyeong through the entirety of her training period in BC as well as all those years she spent jumping from hobby to the other— her competitiveness. Inyeong only ever entered competitions she was either certain she could win or that she was certain she could do her best at, which was often when it came to sports because it so happened that she had a penchant for them. When she was given the options for activities to do, it was obvious that Inyeong would choose playing softball. As much as Inyeong had never necessarily played it in a more serious environment, she had participated in a couple of matches in the past and this just so happened to be one extra to add to the extensive list.

location: pool party date: june 11, 2021 with: open
It wasn’t Inyeong’s intention to show up at the party. Not even remotely— she knew that a place like this was a most likely scenario for people doing dumb shit and that was fine if you were a completely unknown person. But when you are an idol, a celebrity to a certain extent, or potentially one, there is always the chance someone would get a picture from a wrong moment, take a video, post it on social media, and screw you and everybody else from your group over. Inyeong didn’t trust the Chroma girls to behave. Neither the older ones nor the younger— especially the younger ones, the ones who were not old enough to be drinking in the US in the first place but might do it anyway.
Inyeong didn’t care to babysit but she was going to micromanage the shit out of the girls if necessary, and if that meant showing up at the party to keep her eyes on them, then so be it. She trusted herself not to get caught doing something she shouldn’t, if anything because Inyeong didn’t need to indulge in the stupid shit people got up to at parties. She was happy to stand there, scrolling through her phone, constantly alert to whatever the girls might get up to.
While doing so, Inyeong made the mistake of standing too close to the pool. She hadn’t thought about wearing swimming clothes to the party, which she knew was yet another bullshit decision of hers. It was inevitable that someone would end up falling on the pool exactly next to where she was standing and end up drenching her from head to toe. Luckily, Inyeong managed to turn around and save her phone, but it still meant her entire side was soaked. “Fucking asshole,” she yelled out, standing there not knowing what the fuck she was supposed to do. “Don’t you have fucking eyes?”

sweet crazy love. (schedule) self para 009
location: backstage at music core date: may 22, 2021 summary: whenever inyeong gets reminded she’s a leader, it’s in a rude way
As soon as they were done performing, mics off and ready to change to go back to the dorm or the company, Inyeong was dragged away from the other girls for a private conversation in a corner.
Chroma had more than a single manager. That was inevitable with seven members, especially when their schedules were as varied as they were. Usually, Chroma Crystal had one manager following them to most schedules, but sometimes a different one tagged along instead when the first one was busy, like today. Inyeong didn’t like him, not like she did the other one, who was often trying to make sure the girls were comfortable. No, this one wasn’t like that. He was efficient at his job, professional, in a way that Inyeong would appreciate, if it wasn’t for the rudeness he’d turn towards her and the girls at times.
Inyeong understood and ensured that Ahri and Akira were on their best behavior often, but there was a difference in her head between being strict and being flat out rude. The manager most definitely did not know that difference or cared to learn about it.
She gritted her teeth as he spoke. Something about the manager of another, senior group, reaching out to him to tell him that the girls from Chroma Crystal were yet to greet said senior group even though they had been promoting together for a couple of days already. They were being criticized apparently, for not caring about seniority and not behaving well like other senior groups. Inyeong knew it was an exaggeration. Of course they hadn’t gone to greet them because they were busy. Scrambling between practices, music video filmings, and various recordings, the girls barely had time to sleep, much less to linger in other groups’ rooms for pleasantries.
But there was no other option for her other than to bow to the manager and apologize for their behavior. It didn’t matter that this was on him and on the other manager, not on her. It wasn’t Inyeong’s job to know which groups they had to greet as she had more to do than to keep up with other people’s schedules, but it was the managers’ job to do so. It wasn’t on her that he failed to do one of the parts of his job.
Regardless of it being her fault or not, it would fall on her shoulders. She was certain the dude was just throwing the blame on her because he knew it wasn’t Inyeong’s duty but he needed someone else to blame. That was how it always went for the leaders after all— the company arranged for one person in the group to shoulder all the blame and responsibility for everything they did, either bad or good, without so much as offering them the possibility of giving up the position.
Inyeong followed him wordlessly, taking a sip of her water before they stopped in front of the other group’s manager. Another bow, this time lower, as Inyeong expressed her apologies and regrets, promising that Chroma Crystal would show up at their seniors’ dressing room the next day to greet them properly.
The man’s look was full of disdain and he didn’t bother keeping it away from his tone either— Inyeong was dismissed after he let her know the group would be expecting them.
Standing on shaky legs as the exhaustion caught up to her, Inyeong stopped outside Chroma’s dressing room to rest her head against the wall, eyes falling shut. She took a deep breath— seven years as a trainee never prepared her for the challenge of leading a group, for the diplomacy that was required from it. This was a part of the job she’d quit in the blink of an eye, especially if it meant she was never expected to attend another meeting with their directors ever again.
“Fucking assholes,” Inyeong whispered, blinking her eyes open. “I hope they fucking explode.”
Inyeong kept her head up as she walked into the room.

fmdminjung:
the night’s full of smooth sailing — of course, she’s only expected the bare minimum in a solo stage of a shabby cover. the aftermath’s to be expected when she sits around the barbeque dinner table, executives at bay forcing her spine to constantly bend over ninety degrees angled in polite boys, and understanding smiles.
it’s all part of the waiting game, and the last she’s checked of the clock, there’s still a few hours remaining. stomach full, yet the alcohol’s still spread out on the table like it’s a certain call of fate to tell her to take a sip — fate hits again when it’s inyeong’s voice that offers a quick shot.
one quick glance, and the chum churum heeds a certain sigh of relief, one that comes from petty rebellion when she goes against the tide of her own brand deal. glass raised and turned towards the new face, she offers a smirk that slowly paints across her face. “of course. i never say no to the bare necessities of life.” minjung adds, matter-of-factly with her chest puffed out and eyes that pin onto the pouring well of alcohol.
“are you enjoying your night? enjoying the song? liking your new shiny white shoes from reebok?” it’s a trainwreck of questions, one after another void of any pause — but a given to fill conversation in work events like these.
inyeong had hoped against hoped that minjung is one of those seniors who are nor particularly interested in engaging in conversation with her juniors. she’s seen happen and instead of being offended, she’s grateful most of the time. it means she has a very valid excuse not to talk at times. but minjung seems to be the opposite. after inyeong is done serving her and proceeds to fill her own glass, the fuse member asks her a sequence of questions. internally, inyeong sighs. she’s not interested in small talk, was just trying to be polite.
on the outside, she smiles. “it’s been good so far,” lying through her teeth is a talent of hers she’s long since acquired and has been grateful for it from day one. “a night of free food and free drinks is never a bad night, is it?” at least that is true, and inyeong tilts her chin slightly to down the shot in one go, wincing when it’s done and setting the glass down on the table. inyeong knows she’s close to her limit otherwise it’ll fuck up her meds, but there’s still some wiggle room. “the song is good. it’s fun. i’m sure people are going to enjoy it.” she doesn’t, but. it doesn’t really matter.
ah, the free products though, surely an advantage of a brand endorsement. she wonders if bc can get her a good endorsement so inyeong can get her hands on some luxury products. “again, it’s always fun to get free stuff,” the smile she gives minjung at that is as genuine as it can get. “what about you, sunbae? are you having fun?”

location: bc entertainment gala date: april 24, 2021 with: @fmdtaeyong
When Inyeong recalls her years as a trainee, she thinks about all the desires and wishes she had for when her debut came. For when, not if, because the certainty of her debut had only truly died around the beginning of 2020, and then had revived shortly after. She’s always dreamt of this ‒ the luxury, the dressing up, the make up, the galas. Inyeong would flip through pictures of idols attending events and dreamt of being there as well. But now that she’s here… It’s not that she doesn’t want to be, per se. The dressing up part, the getting ready, the fancy dress with the fancy shoes, the stares she inevitably gets whenever she walks into the room because she is pretty and blonde, which attracts attention ‒ all of that is still just as interesting to her as it had been when it had only been a dream. Yet those fantasies hadn’t accounted for on one hand how long these events can actually drag on for and on the other, that it is definitely not as fun to attend one of these when you’re exhausted.
Tossed around from schedule to schedule, from rehearsal to rehearsal, from recording to recording ‒ by the time Inyeong walks into the room where the gala is being held, she’s unsteady on the heels she’s wearing. Inyeong makes it through about an hour and a half of being there until she feels like she can no longer play nice with every single person who approaches her. So she takes advantage of a lul in the conversation to go find a hiding place, even if she’s only there for a few minutes. She does snatch a flute of champagne on the way and, by the time she’s sat on the stairs of a more secluded place, Inyeong is already halfway through the drink. The heels lie discarded by her side and when she hears footsteps behind her, she’s quick to tug them under her dress. When she turns around to look, Inyeong relaxes. “Ah, hi. Have you come here to hide as well?”
