Final Postcards
Here are my final 6 postcards I made to support my final collection and garment. I took pictures of my final illustrations and photos from my photoshoot in which I edited digitally to create the designs below. I went with this fully black and white theme using the filter 'Newspaper'. these low contrast images created this kind of mysterious creepy essence to my images and.i really liked the effect of this and think it paired nicely with the theme of my project. I really like how these came together and feel they are a perfect addition to my project.

To finish these of I presented them on design boards in a similar style as my others to help tie everything together.

Postcard Ideas
Last project I made these postcards to support my final collection and garment. I really liked how these turned out so wanted to take them forward to this project as well.
For my first postcard I knew I wanted to incorporate all 10 of my designs I illustrated. Therefore below I created a line up of all ten however because there are so many, it looked quite squashed and left loads of blank space at the bottom and top of the post card.
Tumblr media
Following the previous card, to fill in the blank spaces I decided to turn my illustrations into a repeating pattern. I really like how this turned out and think it shows off the designs a lot nicer and more interstingly.
Tumblr media
Next I took one of my photoshoot images, removed the background and layered this over the name of my garment in which I repeated down the page. I like the idea of having words layered in the background however it does feel a little plain.
Tumblr media
Here I zoomed out the image a bit more than my last and made the words transparent I definitely prefer this but I still feel like its missing something.
Tumblr media
For this design I went down a similar rout as the last however this time put the name of my collection all over the background with a fully body shot from my photoshoot layered on top. I like this a lot more as it just feels a bit more interesting than the last.
Tumblr media
Here i just took my last design but flipped it portrait. I feel this works a bit better as you can see the garment better and it makes that more of the central focus.
Tumblr media
I don't want all my postcards to be edited with white backgrounds so instead I decided to create some with full images from my photoshoot. Here I took an image that I liked and mirrored it kind of to emulate the look of an inkblot with its mirrored design. I like how this looks and feel like it would be a nice filler postcard.
Tumblr media
I also want some portrait postcards like this as well so here I took another photo but this time edited some glowing lines to make it a bit more interesting.
Tumblr media
For the following designs I took an array of images from my outdoor photoshoot and collaged these together along with the name of my garment to create the designs below. I'm not a huge fan of how these turned out as they just feel a bit busy and awkward
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Following on from the last design I essentially did the same thing however removed the background. I was then playing around with filters and found this really cool one named 'Newspaper'. This turned the images black and white but with this low contrast effect. I really like how this looks and think it creates this quite creepy, eerie atmosphere that matches the vibe of my garment perfectly.
Tumblr media
I think this 'Newspaper' filter is the idea I want to take forward so I applied this filter to some of my previous designs that I liked to see how it worked.

Finally, I took a bunch of mirrored and regular photos from my photoshoots I liked and applied the filter to them. I really like how all these turned out but I now need to narrow it down to two.

BEHIND THE SCENES
Commercial
youtube
This is my Behind The Scenes commercial for my collection ‘What Might This Be?' and final garment ‘Unknø’.
For this commercial I went more down the simplistic route just going to the beat of the sing and alternating clips of things I did that got me to my final outcome, with images of this presented at the end.

FINAL GARMENT
Commercial
youtube
This is my commercial for my final garment ‘Unknø’.
For this commercial I wanted it to explore this eery kind of creepy vibe to match that schizophrenic theme present throughout my project. To create this I had to do quite a bit of editing but I made the videos appear to be glitching, having them speed up and slow down, rewind and fast-forward, mirror each other and so on. I really like how this turned out and I think it matches the garment nicely.

FINAL GARMENT DESCRIPTION
Unknø
'Unknø' is a four-piece garment consisting of oversized trousers with both a fluid, elegant skirt and a contrasting structured skirt, a layered top featuring a bandeau base beneath a side tie mesh top, a sculptural jacket and a statement neck piece. This design is conceptually rooted from the Rorschach Inkblot test. A test that explores the ways of the mind, looking at thought patterns, personality and how one views the world. Drawing from this the garment explores themes of symmetry, emotion and schizophrenic feelings. This garment provokes a sense of mystery and dystopia, encapsulating the wonders of the mind and creating a space for interpretation. Like an inkblot 'Unknø' forms this unique and interactive shape, with tentacle like structures emulating the splats of an inkblot and a strong silhouette formed to allow for others to perceive the design. Following this theme the all black palette with glimmers of silver provide for a "blank canvas". An open space that invites the mind to wonder and make up it's own story. 'Unknø' is not just a garment; it is a gateway into exploring the unknown corners or the mind and find hope in ambiguity.

GIF 6
Similar to the last design, I took one of my postcards and animated each of the image sand writing. I added different effects to make them all appear individually and form this more interesting design. I like how this come together and in general how they all turned out. As marketing wasn't my specialist pathway these were just extra add ons I created to compliment my work.

GIF 5
With this GIF again I took one of my postcards and essentially made all the different elements move in and out the screen to make it a little funner and more interactive. I like the contrast between the subtle movements of the illustration with the quick and jumpy ones of the garment. I feel this animation style works nicely with this design and compliments the piece.

GIF 4
Similar to my second GIF I took all my final designs but this time created a repeating pattern with them and then animated them to pop in and out of the screen. Although quite simple I like the fact its just a funner way to look at all my designs and a good way to promote my collection.

GIF 3
With my third GIF I added the name of my collection 'What Might This Be?' and layered this in the background multiple times. I then added I cut out of my final garment and placed this over the top. From here I made all the wording in the background spin to create this kind of psychedelic feel to the piece. I really like how this turned out and think it captures the essence of my design whilst also focusing on my design nicely.

GIF 2
For these following GIFs I took some of my post card designs and just decided to annotate them as I really liked how they came togeather and though they would look cool animated.
Here is my first GIF where I took a line up of all my illustrations and made them disperse of the screen to reveal the name of my collection. I feel like this came together and like the simplicity of it as it doesn't distract from the designs too much.

GIF 1
Here is my first GIF in which I made using a range of similar images from my second photoshoot. I went quite minimalistic with this having all of the images slide in to reveal the name of the garment and collection name. Although quite simple I feel it worked quite effectively and is a nice way to showcase my garment.

Final Design Boards
Here are my final 11 design boards, showcasing my 10-piece collection 'What Might This Be?' and my press release. For my boards I decide I wanted them to be landscape, with the designs "spilling" over the edges of the boards, as my whole theme is black and white, I kept my boards like this as well and left them fairly simple to not distract from the shapes of the designs as I kind of wanted them to look like inkblots themselves. So with this I firstly added the names of each garment in tracing paper and regular paper with two different fonts and then a quick description of where the name came from. I then added my front and back specification drawings to each board along with one of my initial illustrations I sis at the beginning of the project. I loved these illustrations and new I wanted to incorporate them in some way. Finally to finish off the boards and link them to my sketchbook I just added bits of masking tape, safety pins and paper clips to add some additional texture and create this work in progress feel. All in all although I was little rushed for time so they are not a polished as I would've liked, I still think they work really nicely with the designs and match my style.
