Show presentation was as I've planned it,I have created a very easy choreography which was going really well with the music ,the models stopped at 3points and showed the garments,I'm very happy with the final presentation because everyone liked it and it seems that people have understood the purpose and concept of my project because of the presentation and reading my artist statement from the lookbook made it all clear and interesting.

Jacket problem solving There was a problem with the jacket, because I've made it too small it wasn't possible to button it up and was very hard to do a button hole, that's why I've came up with a solution like button clips which were supposed to look invisible under the big button. But it wasn't solving the problem neither so I've decided to risk it and go with a safety pin during the fashion show, happily this worked and and looked much better than the clips.

Test shooting
I have done a test shooting of my garments before the final one.I have done it on a white wall, because I thought that this would look more natural and simple, natural make up and a hair tied back to give a more masculine attire in order to communicate breaking stereotypes. But it wasn’t a very succesful photoshooting because the clothes don’t look as good as good as they are,the light was awful and all the creases were too obvious. So I have decided to try it outdoor fore the final shooting, the hair down but keeping same styling in terms of accessories and make up.I think the one that’s outside is more natural and makes the looks contrast and look much brighter and better, the old wall of bricks is sort of a subtle meaning of history of women and a strong wall the women could be associated with. The model is posing quite serious but still looking feminine and sexy.I believe that the model’s attitude communicates very well the concept and the message of the project, that women can be as powerful as men,and look very feminine in a suit without looking manliness,as I have said in my project proposal.Doing 2 shoots helped me to compare and to think more about how I would communicate the message and the intended meaning.I’m very pleased with the shooting.

I have done about 30 designs for my Fmp mini collection, developing suits and shirts in different models and designs. I’ve tried to create something powerful and womanly. In the first pictures,I have done a couple of trouser suits that are more masculine because of the jacket’s shape, very boxy, oversized sword lapels and straight trousers.but then I have developed a more feminine sillhouette and even jacket dresses.I have also developed a range of shirt dresses,in a more deconstructed shape that communicate freedom, purity and sensuality. The designs are very different from each other because I wanted to explore more styles and shapes.I like a lot the designs with the jacket dress and fishnet tights but they’re not linking to my audience and target market because are more revealing and wouldn’t be suitable for the older age of group,as I intend to make it available for a larger audience.
I have chosen this final designs because they communicate power, are more fitted to the body and communicates the courage of a woman to be sexy and different. They are more appealing to a wider age group and they communicate classical style but still very feminine and empowering,

Weekly evaluation 18th MAY
This week I've completed the target I've set myself for the last 2 weeks,I have finished the suit in order to take part in the fashion film.It was very difficult to finish it such in a record time considering how detailed it is and the fact that I've never done it before.I have learnt very much in the past 2 weeks, including tailoring a proper suit,a lapel and collar, and bagging a lining.I have done lots of changes to the patterns and to the garments as well,I'm always striving to get the perfect final piece and it took lots of effort and dedication.I came in college on day offs in order to finish it on time.I loved the process of making it.I also did lots of samples with the details of the garments which made me to progress and develop my ideas further.I tried to put my own style in the suit and because I didn't think about these details initially I struggled a bit with alternations because it's very hard to make changes after cutting the fabric. But I've managed to change a bit the design and include some new details in the design in order to make it more personal by style.I love the result and I'm very happy that I'm managing well with the time.I still have two weeks left and from the next week I'll start my second look .

Weekly evaluation
Last week I have focused on more experimentation and sampling with collars, pockets, cuffs, and this week I’m planning to expand my experiments using the final fabrics and colour palette and choose the final details that will make my garment to stand out and communicate the intended meaning.I am keeping on track and feel confident with the time management because I’m coming in college to work extra hours on sewing and putting my garments together.I've done a lot of experimentations before sewing the suit because I want to put in my suit something personal and something related to the theme and my style,I'm sampling with lots of details and ideas,I'll focus on the suit for the next week because I've set myself the aim to finish it until the fashion film on the 18th.I'm feeling quite confident and organised because I'm sticking to my timeplan and managing my time efficiently.

Trouser Workshop
I did the trouser workshop because I’m planning to to a pair of trousers in my project. It wasn’t the first time I tried to do them but still i found it a bit complicated.I did a mock of a pair of trousers, they look more like shorts, but I have understood how to saw the zip and sew the right side to the left side.Initially I got wrong the left and right side and had to unpick it and saw again,I did a run& fell seam on both sides first, but then I have realised that the zip is on the other side ,so I had to unpick one side.I was very confident with the run and fell as I’ve done it before on shirts.I think I will use the same technique with a invisible zip on the side because the trousers would sit better on the body in this way instead of the zip on the front,it might make them bulky and ugly.I would do a wider waistband for my trousers as it would look more effective

Fabric shops visiting in London
I have decided to do a sort of primary research and choose fabrics for my final piece by visiting the shops in London which are known as the best. The first ones I went, were the Berwick street shops, after strolling through the fabrics and taking some samples I have realised that they were incredibly expensive!! a way too much than my budget and more than I could afford. Then I’ve decided to visit the ones from the Shepperds Bush on Goldnawk road, these ones were much cheaper and the quality was very good.I liked it more because there was a much broader choice and styles of fabrics,I have taken lots of samples from each shop. The only thing that was difficult to do is actually find some suiting fabrics in bold and bright colours at a reasonable price. It really important to browse through all the shops and ask prices ,they might have same fabrics but cheaper in another shop,so it wasn't really easy to remember which one was cheaper and better, the next time I’ll go i have to write down each shop, fabric name, and price and then compare the prices between the shops.I have chosen a red silky suiting fabric, the cheapest one I could find, for £12 a meter and I have bought 2,70m for my mini collection.i also have bought lining at the price of £10 a meter, some interlining which was £7 and shoulder pads for £4.I think it was a productive research day and I have learnt some useful tricks while fabric hunting.

midway evaluation
I tried to follow my project proposal as much as I could by sticking to the same plan and following my initial ideas but going through the project made me to make some changes.I have changed my initial colour palette but haven’t changed my initial ideas and purposes.I should read my proposal more often so I could remind myself my intended goals and ideas that I’m trying to communicate.I have done primary and lots of secondary research, trying to communicate and develop my ideas.I went to a exhibition, visited fabric shops and shops looking for current trends. For my secondary research I have used a lots of internet sources and library as well, looking through history books.I have noticed that I didn’t really responded to all of my research in my book, and now try to do that so my book would look more effective and my ideas would be supported. My mood boards and pages layout have communicated a simple and classy style, related to my final piece and colour palette.I thin that so far my strengths are in researching but I could improve my sampling and experimenting and responding to the research because my book has a lot of text but less texture and sampling.
When I have sampled with striped I had problems with the materials,I’ve tried to use different materials from embroidery floss to plastics and have understood which ones work better. And when I did a lining sample with sublimation printing I have tried different fabrics but the best one was the synthetic fabric which is usually used for lining, because the colours look brighter on it.I should experiment more the the design of the print because I have changed my colour palette so I need to change it related to the current changes and experiment more with this technique.I also plan to experiment with foil though I’m not sure if I would use it on my final piece.I think that creating a suit is a big challenge for me and the biggest challenges in the project are still to come,my pattern cutting skills are good but now I’ll challenge and test them.I think I haven’t implemented creative solutions yet,but I’m planning to do that with my designing,I will try to create a solution for my mini collection which is really hard to get it done in only 10 weeks so I want to come up with a solution that will help me to create the intended collection in such a short timeframe, for example focusing more on the toile and doing it really well so I could confidently start the final pieces and finish them quicker.
I was setting myself weekly goals and i will keep do it because it helps me to focus on what I have to do and where i should improve.I’m following my time plan efficiently and i think I’ve done it well by now,it really helped to stay focused on work.
I have communicated my ideas and purpose clearly through evaluations and I’m trying to make it as professional as possible, demonstrating clarity and sophistication in thinking.I have independently reflected on my research, steps and evaluations, which shows maturity in making decisions to progress my ideas.
I will present my work accordingly to the criteria, showing my organisation and demonstrating my personal style as much as possible because a good presentation is the most important thing at the end of the project.I try to stick to my time plan so I could showcase my work at the exhibition and summer show, effectively to the intended audience.

FMP PRESENTATION -EVALUATION
The presentation of my fmp context and research helped me to reflect on my project so far.The feedback I received was about doing more research into modern issues of strong women, modern role models and less of traditional stereotypes.I have researched some new artists such as Judy Dater, who displayed art focused on women challenging stereotypical gender roles, and the way women were expected to dress or pose. She inspired me because my project has the same context, the way women are imposed by society.I think I need to look up and and research the women of nowadays and how they use they’re power to inspire girls and women.I was planning to create a suit out of a dark fabric but after the presentation I decided to use a brighter fabric which would symbolise a strong woman and wouldn’t be a stereotypical colour associated with the gender.I’m also thinking how I could make a more feminine suit rather than a masculine one, which is usually associated with men.I have created a colour palette already but I might change it in brighter and genderless colours.I also want to visit a fabric shop and find more samples of suiting fabric and I hope to find bright ones,If not I would create a print with bright foil over a traditional suiting fabric to give it a more modern side.I need to do a page of what makes a woman strong and powerful and who are these women nowadays,I think this will be very relevant and will show a contemporary approach and reflection.I also intend to do a market profile, which would help me to understand better my intentions and target market and start designing.

The Valentino collection is something totally contrasting to the Celine one.Because it’s about romantic silhouettes, fluid dresses in peachy, pinky and aqua blue colours, with a note of seriousness in the long leather coats and high knee leather boots. The colour theme is sort of degrading from darks to light hues. Some prints and graphics seen as well in the sweatshirts and long evening gowns, frilled at the neckline and sleeves. The materials and fabrics are very different from sequins to tulle, lace, leather, silk and wool.I like how perfectly the designer blended in and mixed up all the fabrics, some of them aren’t for a autumn day but definitely for a romantic evening. The fabric is textured and patterned, but more commonly the patterned one, very modern and Valentino like. The frills an flounces are very often seen in the collection as well as the flared silhouettes and shapes. The styling is very similar in all the outfits, little leather backpacks,lace-up boots in different colours form brights to darks. The make up is very natural in the most looks, though in some looks like the yellow and light ones the make up is focused on dark lips and dark eyes. The similarities between the looks are the flared silhouettes, the romantic attire, the long over the knee designs, the fluidity. The differences between the looks are the colour palette, there’s clearly two different colour palettes, the style like fluffy slippers and laced-up leather boots.
I think this collection is amazing,it’s very feminine and empowering because of the shape and designs, the looks were linking in with the coral chokers as if they were the same,I think the meaning of the collection is inspired by the victorian era and modern attitude of the woman.

Celine AW17
the collection has a well defined colour theme in black and whites, some spots of I would say dull colours through the collection, linked in between by the silhouette and shapes, clearly inspired by the 80s power dressing, added with a bit of contemporary aesthetics and prints, the materials are quite different ,from cottons to leather and wool fabrics, but the dominant one is the cotton ,I think. There’s textured materials as well like feathers, there are a couple of looks in the same print pattern like the striped or abstract ones, the shapes are quite plain but the pattern is speaking for itself. There are frills and flounces, gathers and deconstruction,it’s a very diverse collection and really hard to link it by the designs. The designer used flounces in trousers and dresses as well, some sheer fabric coats and capes have gathers as well as the shoulder-less dresses made from stretching fabrics. It’s versatile and sophisticated by it’s details and diversion. The accessories used for styling are quite similar, the leather flat ankle boots in different colours with pointed toes,in some looks they are white in other black. The styling theme for hair and make up is natural minimalism, sleek hair, almost no make up.The similarities are the big shoulder pads, straight shapes and silhouettes, black colour, styling. The differences are the fabrics, prints, textile techniques.
I think the collection was inspired by a 80s silhouette the models looked very serious and furious, the meaning of the collection is a contrasting personality because of the fact that there’s lots of black and silky coats, longline shirts with matching trousers which makes it very strange and contrasting.
