you know when you're in the queer sphere of the internet for a while so you inadvertently end up questioning your gender but you come out the other side realising you're pretty chill with your body and assigned gender but at the end of the day you don't really feel that particularly strongly about it anyway but you don't want to ID as agender because that's just too much hassle and besides you kinda like being a girl and presenting fem but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter that much to you and what people call "your gender" only seems to exist to you when you have to tick a M/F box on a bit of paperwork so you just settle with she/they but she/her is fine and is this common do a lot of cis queer people feel like this that yes their gender correlates with their agab but at the end of the day they don't really feel that strongly anyway?

I think I am the way I am partially because my first ever big video game with a story was Super Paper Mario. The narrative is kickass but honestly more than anything I haven't seen many examples that come close to how visually coherent Super Paper Mario is. The amount of geometric shapes in the art direction of the game really drives home how many characters could only exist in 2D, which really drives home the ability to swap to 3D!!!! It's so cool!!! and all the weird equations in the sky and the bizarre (even for Mario standards) enemy designs and the way each world seems to have a unique pattern to the way the world layout is stylized.....its absolutely incredible

And the MUSIC?! Like yes writing design all fantastic BUT! The motifs!!! Not even just stuff like the first world's excellent remix of 1-1 and Athletic theme, or how Flipside's main motif becomes this triumphant fanfare woven throughout each moment of the player making major progress, but how it works in the storytelling as well! Like Bleck's main theme being reimplemented and remixed so thoroughly that it seems impossible for the main villain to be anyone but him, which makes the last second twist even more dramatic? Only for his theme (previously heavily corrupted by the void as shown through the constant use of reversed sounds) is shifted to major and the player hears it and goes "oh it perfectly aligns itself with the Memory theme AKA Tippi's theme" BECAUSE THEY WERE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER GOD DAMNIT!!!

The entire game's OST is amazing but the way everything comes together in the final act blew me away as a kid and to be honest it still kinda blows me away today. It's silly, but listening to this I can tell that Naoko Mitome, Chika Sekigawa, and Yasuhisa Baba really put their heart into the story with this soundtrack.
