“If you must know…. I haven’t given it to him yet.” There’s a flash of fear in the witch’s eyes. He wasn’t even supposed to out of the castle, let alone going and picking a fight with a Blight and the Owl Lady over Titan’s blood. Sure, he had eventually gained his query, but he knew Belos’s anger all too well. Whether or not he was trying to be useful, he had deliberately disobeyed his uncle. The consequences were sure to be painful.

his situation reminded amity of her own, in a way. hiding things from relatives that you know will disappoint them if they found out. hiding them because you fear the way they’ll react if they find out.

though luckily, her mother was just an overbearing saleswoman, not the emperor of the boiling isles. she could hardly imagine what it was like for the golden guard.

“Oh great… It’s you,” Hunter frowned when he laid eyes on the youngest Blight. After their last encounter at the lake, he wasn’t too thrilled to see what she had to say to him.

amity wasn’t exactly thrilled to see the golden guard either, but it seemed inevitable that their paths would cross again at some point, considering their goals.

❝ i just came to see if you were still alive after what happened at eclipse lake. can’t imagine the emperor was too happy to have you return home with a broken portal key. ❞

not like she really cared about the outcome one way or the other. her only concern was in whether or not hunter still had the key on him, so she could try to take it back and get it fixed.

could amity take on someone so close to emperor belos on her own? probably not. but if this woman thought that she was a holder of the key to the human realm, then that meant there was a chance she could divert the emperor's coven away from luz and the rest of the owl house.

if that meant playing the part of a fearless rebel, then it was a small price to pay.

“Y-Yeah, I’m fine! Just, you know... p-processing... Everything.”

Amity was practically reduced to putty in Luz’s arms, far too overwhelmed by her emotions to even stand up right now. She truly was hopeless when it came to romance.

           —as arms coiled around her girlfriend.

Okay so MAYBE Luz got a little ahead of herself there. But…she’d missed Amity and kind of couldn’t help herself.

                      A half laugh. “ You okay there Amity?”

Luz just dips her girlfriend and kisses her deeply. After a minute she lets her go and helps her back to her feet. Yep. now she feels better.

“Well, uh... H-Hello to you too, Luz...”

Is this what dating was like? Random kisses whenever your girlfriend felt like it?

Luz’s eyes tripled in size as she saw what was in the box, she nearly dropped it she was so shocked. Instead though she squeals in excitement, hardly believing her own eyes. A loud gasp escapes her.

          “ Oh Dios mío !!! ” 

With one swift motion, she gently places the box down before running full charge at Amity, swooping her up and off her feet in a hug—twirling her around as she did.

                   “ I love it!!! Amity you’re amazing!!”

The hug was certainly unexpected, but not at all unwelcome. Amity wasted no time in returning the affectionate gesture, even giving Luz a soft kiss on the cheek.

“You’re welcome. I know it’s not much, but I thought it’d be nice to surprise you with something. And when I saw that wand, I knew it was something you’d like.” She said with a soft smile as she kept her arms wrapped around Luz.

“It’s just my way of saying that I love you.”

“Do you remember that wand I was practicing the fire spell with? It’s another one of those, but it doesn’t have a spell attached to it yet. I figured you could choose whatever spell you want the wand to be able to use, and just... have fun with it.”

“I know you have your glyphs and stuff, but I figured this might be a more interesting way to practice how certain spells work.”
