The screen of a computer fizzled with electricity, buzzing with static for a moment before showing an image of a very familiar turtle. “And… AHA!” The purple-asked stranger cheered, finally getting his device to work. “I, my dimensional interlopers, am Specs! I have hacked into the multiverse itself to connect directly to your mobile devices! And, what’s more, I have also invented a portal to take you directly into my world! Behold the genius of my tech!!” The camera panned to reveal a square pad on the floor with intimidating spikes on its edges and a faint glow of energy.

Another turtle walked… er- scuttled in?- on its four additional spider-like legs. “Hey SpecHOLY WOAH DUDE WHY’S IT DOING THAT-?!”

Specs turned to him with a furrowed brow. “Doing whaOH MY DARWIN-” The portal had begun to make a revving noise, the faint glow hovering above it becoming brighter. “IT’S HAPPENING! STAY CALM BOYS!” The tech-covered turtle’s mouth stretched into a wide grin and his eyes snapped back to the camera. “Looks like I’ll be seeing one of you VERY soon!!”

In the other room two more turtles say, relaxing on two beanbag chairs. The red-masked one heard the faint noise of middle-child nonsense. ‘Should we… check on them?’ He signed, the translator on his neck converting it to speech a moment later.

The blue one shrugged. “…do you want to?” He had just gotten to the best part of his comic, after all… Brothers could wait, he was getting invested in the adventures of this ‘Jupiter Jim’ character. Human imagination never ceased to amaze him..

The other turtle sighed, leaning back in his chair. ‘Alright, but if he blows up the living room again you’re helping him clean.’

Whiplash limped along the dark tunnels, leaning against a wall to catch his breath. Just.. a little more…

He made it to the ladder, pulling himself up with gritted teeth, each rung aggravating the burning in his muscles. And yet, they climbed. Each agonizing inch at a time.

It reached the top, sliding off the cover and finally, finally dragging itself up onto the surface.

Exhausted and relieved, he looked up at the sky, “H-hah..” and smiled.

Helix walked down the street, humming a tune under their breath. It was a nice day today, sunny and warm with a slight cool breeze. He took a breath of the fresh air and sighed.

But then… he saw something. It was an octoling, pulling themselves out of a manhole cover with a tired expression. Their clothes were ripped and stained with ink, and they had a green-tinged scar…

Now, Helix wasn’t one to pry, but he could just leave if he saw someone in trouble! And this octoling was definitely in some sort of trouble. He shuffled closer, a concerned expression on his face. “Uh.. hello?”

“Yo guys, Look what I found!” 3² cheerfully yelled out as they super-jumped into the Alterna Base. It had become another one of their bases of operation, giving them an easy way to safeguards splatsville's Great Zapfish.

The Captain opened one eye, tilting their head to him curiously. “What did you get?” Four also seemed quite curious, eyes sparking slightly as she ran over to him. The captain stayed where they were. “Oooh! You found a-” they blinked. “A camera?”

3² shook her head, beaming. “Not just any old camera! this bad boy is an sold HUMAN camera I found!” four gasped. “Really?!” now 3² even had the captain's full attention. “that's a pretty bold claim, three. You sure you can back it up?"

It held out the camera. “Hell yeah I can! Look at the text on the side! That's human text if I've ever seen it.” The captain looked the device up and down, before nodding. “Mhm. Certainly looks like it.”

4 spoke up again. “But you'd have to ask Eight if you wanted to be sure! They know everything about this kinda stuff.”

3⅔ nodded. “Good idea. I'd better go right now, actually! Seeya!” the other two said goodbye as the hybrid ran off excitedly. But just as it left...

“Hello!” 8 said as they walked in, smiling softly. “Hi!” four waved. the Captain snorted slightly. Eight looked confused. “Hm? What is so funny?” the captain only shook their head. “Nothing, nothing... Just don't be surprised when 3 bombards you with human questions later today.”

Ah yes. Normal guy right here. In all honesty she wasn’t even surprised. She had gotten used to this kind of body-horror suddenly happening. ….maybe that wasn’t the healthiest thing but when you lived with eldritch beings (and were one) it just sort of became background noise.
