Today, I was happy.

I woke up in the comfiest bed I've ever slept in this morning, next to a person I love and could see a future with.

I had delicious food all day and a big, luxurious three bedroom house all to myself. I finished the book I was reading and started another one.

I baked banana bread. I did dishes. I texted old friends and told them how much I appreciate their friendship.

I drove to the store and bought eggs with money I made at a job I enjoy.

I sat on the couch with with a cat sleeping on my lap, reading by the table lamp and listening to heavy rain beat down on the roof over my head.

We all have things we don't deserve. All we can do is be grateful and try to do good to make up for it.
