For the most part my dash is pretty well curated (thanks to me already blacklisting most things I do not wish to see), but every now and again I'll see something in my recommended that makes me go "get this shit off my dash right the fuck now" before bodyslamming the block button faster than the speed of light.
#no hesitation just instant block#i wish this site had a “im not interested” button like instagram#like dont show me this topic ever again 😊 or i will cause problems on purpose

The Crow is confused by the other's actions, and his first instinct is to pull away -his hands bring death, they should not be held so gently nor so casually, not even with the gloves on!- but he doesn't. He isn't sure why he doesn't; some part of him just doesn't want to break their contact just yet.
He stares at the gloved hand on top of his. There's something hidden beneath that leather, he knows. "Sun...flower..." he mutters, tilting his head a little. His free hand moves over to Artair's shoulder, where he knows he'll find another marking.
"Eye."
He remains quiet for a moment after this as the cogs in his mind turn frantically, trying to work out why he knows these things and why this knowledge brings an odd sense of warmth along with it. His eyes drift back to Artair's face, and as their eyes meet, he can feel the wall in his mind crumbling. He makes no attempt to stop it.
That's not just any person. He knows it now. That's...
"Frien- GHhgg!"
The sudden pain that shoots through his head is bad enough that it makes him double over, a surprised cry of pain spilling out. He wraps his arms around himself, a desperate attempt to self-soothe as the pain leaves him gasping for air.
It's terrible, all-consuming. His mind is on fire, his skull feels like it's breaking, and his eyes feel like they're boiling in his sockets... And the pain is gone almost as quickly as it started, leaving the Crow confused and disoriented, his breathing still coming in ragged, rapid gasps even as the pain ebbs away.
He's too busy trying to control himself, to not let any part of himself break, that the pin lands on him without much reaction. It rests on his stomach, a negligible weight against his skin. Even the emotional shifts in the crow are lost under a torrent of his own for once.
It is when the Crow speaks, questions in that croaking voice almost hoarse with newness and disuse, that Artair snaps back into himself. A strained breath heaves its way out of him.
The Crow immediately loses what capacity he has for speech. He looks confused, when Artair forces his hands to drag away from his face. He tugs on his hair, grounding himself under the sharp pull.
It's small, but somewhere in there, the Crow still exists. He wouldn't care if he was gone. It still hurts, but he has to hold on to that. He has to be strong and cling to that, because it's all he really has in this moment.
"Ss--mmn." His voice doesn't really work. It is too jagged in his throat right now. It's not like the Crow would understand him, either. So instead he sits up, slow so as not to startle the Crow. Then he simply reaches for his gloved hand, touching the leather with his own. He doesn't do more than place his palm atop the hand, and let it linger there.
#oh yes popcorn sounds like a great idea#The Merchant certainly agrees#I imagine he's chilling in a tree like the cheshire cat just giggling away#townofcadence#the crow

Jonas was attacking him. Jonas was attacking him.
Etienne wanted no part in this. Never did, certainly didn't right now... But perhaps this was for the better. If his body perished, then at least he wouldn't have to deal with this anymore. He wouldn't have to share his body with whatever fucking parasite was causing his mind to decay.
He bared his throat, ready to accept his demise... but of course it wasn't enough. Of course, that thing wouldn't let him make that call. It only took a second for Etienne to once again lose the grip on his body as the Merchant seized control, that awful laughter filling his mind and spilling from his lips.
The Merchant remained still until Jonas...or well, not-quite-Jonas was close enough to feel like he might be winning this little game of theirs...
And then Etienne's body seemed to sink into the shadows, simply melting into the darkness, leaving the blade to slash through the air, only grazing the shadowy tendrils that were left behind after the Merchant's little disappearing trick.
Behind Jonas, the shadows would reform, taking on the shape of a man once more. "Oh dear, it looks like you missed! By quite a bit, might I add. I'm afraid your aim is a bit off, Foxie. Would you like to try again?"
Fox leaped to his feet the second he was free. Blood ran down his shoulder, soaking through his jacket. He took a split second to consider his options.
Nowhere to run out on the terrace. This...thing...that was puppeting the body of Jonas's beloved Etienne had moved back but he was still too much within range of the only other means of escape. Even if it seemed that Etienne had momentarily gained back control he didn't trust it at all.
Gold flickered over his eyes. His face was expressionless. He made a quick gesture, grasping a knife as it slid out of his sleeve.
"*If you tore Jonas apart...I would survive..*" he said breathlessly. A savage smile split his face. Gold welled up in the corners of his mouth and a thin stream of it slid down the side of his jaw as he stood there.
"*Assuming...I'd even let you...get that far...*" he spat out, gold flecking the floor beneath them. Without warning he darted forward and made a quick feint to the left at the last second, driving the knife straight towards the other man without hesitation.
Aiming for his throat.
Time to find out exactly how mortal this entity was...
#Nah man this is hardly fucking up#the Merchant is just having some fun uwu#it's just that nobody else ever wants to play with him (probably because he's a fucking prick lmao)#foxedthecards#the merchant

So recently the funniest shit happened. I am a language teacher at a secondary school and I usually teach 12-16 year olds. The other day my boss asked me if I know any French. I told him honestly that while I did have French in secondary school myself, and I did pass my exams and all that, French isn't exactly my strong suit...
And then he asked me if I could teach French next school year.
I ended up saying "sure, why not?" Because it might increase my chances of being allowed to stay at this school (currently I have a contract for 1 year, it's the last time they can give me one of those, next year they'll have to switch to a permanent contract or let me go). Now, the reason this cracks me up is because I'm always complaining about French to my students.
"There are too many letters, you don't need half of those!" "It makes no sense and sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball!" "Don't you speak French in my classroom!"
And now I'm going to be teaching French. God, how the mighty have fallen.

The reaction confuses the Crow. People generally were upset when he was about to end their lives, but they seemed afraid more than anything, and their sadness was... different. This was more intense. It seemed almost...personal? Odd. Usually the Crow cared little for these emotional displays -just distractions, he doesn't understand any of it and he does not need to- but the current situation makes him feel uncomfortable in a way that he cannot quite place.
He doesn't care, he isn't supposed to...and yet...
The Crow stares at Artair for a moment before glancing over at the discarded brooch. The other's expression had shifted once the Crow threw away the brooch. His captive did not appear to be fighting back, and that meant that currently he wasn't a threat... allowing the Crow to step away for a second to pick up the trinket. He looks at it, brows furrowed. Why would this little object cause such a reaction? Was the other here to get this specific object, perhaps? Maybe that's why the two brooches seemed to be connected? Maybe the brooch had belonged to a loved one and had some sentimental value?
A brooch, given as a way to repay the other's kindness. The gloves... his gloves... not given to him by the Heart but by...
A memory threatens to rear its head, but it's forced back behind a wall so quickly that the Crow isn't able to hold onto it. He doesn't touch the wall, doesn't pry. He isn't supposed to and he will not disobey orders.
He drops the brooch onto Artair. The act of giving something to another person doesn't quite come naturally, but the goal is still achieved. He continues to stare at the other, trying to see if the brooch does anything to comfort him. As the Crow waits to see a reaction, he retrieves his glove from the ground, slipping it back on. No longer a threat.
"...s..ad?"
He croaks out. He can grasp its meaning, but only briefly. His brows furrow once more as the knowledge seems to disappear in an instant, leaving him unsure of what he just said and unable to understand anything the other might say in reply.
As the other begins to thrash, the Crow puffs up his feathers and let's out a low rattle. Fighting back definitely makes the other a threat, and threats must be dealt with. The Crow may have been instructed to keep his captive alive, but the Heart was clear about what to do to anything or anyone that threatened the forest; dispose of them.
As Artair reaches for his belt, the Crow swiftly removes a glove, ready to stop Artair if he attempts to unsheathe a weapon... but no. There is no weapon, only a piece of jewelry.
The Crow stares at it, puzzled. Why would someone put in this level of effort to grab a useless trinket in a situation like this? It makes no sense. The object is certainly shiny, and he does like shiny things, but surely the other wasn't expecting this to be enough of a distraction for the Crow to let him go?
Things only get stranger once the other begins to hum a note near the object. The Crow isn't given much time to ponder the strangeness of it, however, as the sound suddenly seems to repeat, much closer than it should be. The Crow let's out a startled shriek, dropping his glove in the process. He stares down at Artair, then shifts his gaze to the brooch pinned onto his own tattered coat. It's not as shiny, and the Crow hadn't even realized it was there until now. The brooch made the sound, no doubt about it, and the Crow proceeds to rip it from the fabric before carelessly tossing it onto the ground. Whatever the other is doing, the Crow will not allow it to distract him.
He has a job to do.
He slams his uncovered hand onto the ground next to Artair, causing the grass and flowers to wilt instantly. It comes paired with another low rattle. A warning.
#oh no babyyyyyy#god I am a monster for putting him through this I am so sorry lol#townofcadence#the crow

The Crow does not think much of the current situation. He was instructed to look for a person matching this one's exact description, and he was told to capture, not to kill, which is the only reason his hands are still safely tucked into the gloves the Heart has given him.
His captive is making an awful lot of noise. Meaningless sound that the Crow does not understand and doesn't care to understand either. Humans truly are a noisy bunch... then again, this one doesn't quite fall into that category, now does he? Not that it matters.
Still noisy.
The Crow's eyes are glazed over, his irises an oddly vibrant blue that looks rather eerie paired with his pale skin and dark feathers. And they lack their usual warmth, instead staring at Artair as if he were a stranger. Possibly even less than a stranger, a threat, perhaps?
He lets out a few loud caws, alerting the Heart of their location. The Heart probably already knows; the Heart knows everything, but it's what the Crow was told to do.
So he'll do it.
#poor Artair more like#at least the crow doesn't realize anything is going on :p#townofcadence#the crow

@forestofforever // Manhandling Starters
Maybe if it had been a stranger, Artair would have resisted harder--- but it's Crow of all people. His friend. He knows something is wrong immediately by the way he reacts, the way he feels-- but he can't bare to hurt him just to escape. When he's pinned down, his breath leaves him in a gust against the forest ground, but even then, he still hesitates to fight back.
"Crow-- Crow. I know you're in there. Please-- what's going on? Are you alright? It's me-- it's me." He doesn't know if it will help to hear his voice. It likely won't. But he has to try, or at least understand what.... whatever this is, is making him do. He's been respectful to the forest, so surely this isn't the Heart, right?
So what's gotten into Crow if it's not.

The shift in the other nearly drove the Merchant wild. This was about to become even more exciting and it was already having so much fun!
It dodged the vase with ease, briefly sinking onto all fours before lunging at Jonas, pinning him to the ground and straddling him to keep him from getting away. "Oh? You are not Jonas, are you?" It grinned widely as it leaned forward. "One body, two souls... well, if you even still have one of those, that is. Someone has been naugh-ty!" It threw back its head and laughed, the noise a mixture of hyena-like laughter and the cries of a fox, deeply unpleasant and utterly inhuman.
"It's alright, little fox, I haven't got one either! Heheheh...hahahah!"
Its shoulders shook with laughter. "What would happen if I tore this little alcoholic you share a space with apart, do you think? What would happen to you?" Its tone was full of barely contained glee and its grin was so wide that it looked painful. "Let's find out~!"
It bit into Jonas's shoulder, clamping down with enough force to break skin instantly. The taste of the blood was enough of a shock to draw Etienne back to the forefront, though while Etienne was desperate to regain control over his body, he didn't actually want to be present for any of this... worse, the taste of the blood didn't make him nauseous as it ought to, but rather, it made him feel positively ravenous.
"Oh...God...oh Jesus... I'm turning into a monster." He shakily moaned, covering his blood covered mouth with his hands. "And...and you're not Jonas... How...? What..?" It came as a massive shock, though at the same time it was a relief. He didn't want Jonas to see him like this, and whoever was inhibiting Jonas's body at least seemed to possess some decent survival skills.
Etienne quickly got up, creating distance between the two of them so not-Jonas could flee. " I'm....I'm so sorry...J...just get Jonas out of here... please..."
Continued from here - @foxedthecards
He chuckled, slowly moving closer, circling Jonas as he spoke. "I've got a sick sense of humor, do I? And why would that be? Because I find joy in your fear or because you still think I'm joking?" He grabbed onto Jonas's wrist with one hand while using the other to remove the mask, pausing briefly to let Jonas take in the face of his attacker.
"But then the question is, am I joking?" He giggled before dragging his tongue -its texture like sandpaper, or the tongue of a cat- over Jonas's arm. Just the start. Just a little taste before...
His eyes suddenly widened, and his grip on Jonas went slack. "What...what the fuck?" Etienne stepped back, his eyes darting between his own hands and Jonas's frightened face. "Oh god, what the fuck? Shit... I'm sorry! I don't... It's not... what the fuck...what the fuck..." His voice was frantic and he continued to move back, stumbling over his own feet. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me..."
He was nearly in tears as he saw the fear in Jonas's eyes, though his expression quickly shifted to one of glee as the cackling started back up again.

The anon standing in front of Etienne is twiddling their fingers, clearly very self-conscious. When they do speak however there's an unusual tenderness in their words.
" Etienne...you've done so much for me I think if I could live a thousands years doing something for you each day and every hour, I'd still feel like it wasn't nearly enough..."
They give a bashful sort of laugh and rub the back of their neck. " And I think, eheh, I'd be up for doing anything you'd want me to do in uh more...private settings, to make you feel good of course but beyond that I want you to know that I love doing things for you rather than to you. I'm not good with saying everything I think 'cause...my head's kind of a mess heh and I ramble on and forget where I'm going when I'm talking about something. It's hard...saying how you really feel when you have so much tangled up in your head. I wish I was more eloquent, you know? But uhm...just know. I want to do everything for you that will make you feel safe and happy and...and loved. The little things and the big things and the in-between things, the over-the-top extravagant gestures and the little quiet daily affirmations that all...all say that..."
Anon swallows hard. "....th-that I...love you...so much..." they whisper. Little tears trickle slowly down the sides of the greyface mask. They hurriedly wipe them off with an embarrassed noise under their breath.
As soon as the other is done talking, Etienne tears off the mask so that he can reach the lips that lie beneath. He already knows who this is, fuck, he'd recognize that voice anywhere!
He presses their lips together, not driven by lust this time around, but truly just by the passion that Jonas seems to awaken within him.
Love.
That word he never really believed in until meeting the silly redhead. Turns out it was real all along; they just always spelled it wrong. It wasn't spelled Love, it was spelled Jonas. Call him cheesy all you want, he'll take it.
"Darling, Jonas, my angel, I don't need you to be more eloquent, and I don't care that you ramble sometimes. I love listening to you. I love being near you." He presses a kiss against Jonas's forehead. "And don't ever wear a dumb mask like that again. I like your face, and if you really want to wear a mask, I'll make you a nicer one." A few more kisses are peppered on his cheeks before Etienne presses their lips together once more.
"I adore you."
