pea needed air, he was not enjoying this for one second and to sit in that cabin any longer was going to have him barf and he wasn’t even drunk enough to sit there and deal with it. as he walked out to find a familiar face fussing with a coat he rose a brow as he spoke. “un…im fine. thanks for asking.” he said shrugging.
link hadn’t seen the other come out before he spoke so it gave him a slight start before he leaned back against the railing with a sigh. he can relax around this guy, he’s sure of that much at the very least. “ i meant... “ he replied before pausing and waving a hand through the air. “ epona. my horse. “

@pcllyisms frustration was present on his face when people kept bumping into link and attempting to strike up a conversation. he was a new face in town and he should have expected it because people liked things that were new and exciting, but after more than a handful of failed conversations the blonde was over it already. what may have seemed like a wild flapping of hands to some was actually a colorful insult towards the latest guest that had been rude to him about his lack of conversational skills. he just didn’t think anyone would notice what he was saying.

azure eyes watch as the man stepped out of the way before they silently shifted over to the sandwiches and other delights laid out on the table. he held a hand up with fingers curled slightly as if trying to tell the other that there was no need to be nervous. though that was hypocritical since the self-appointed vigilante also seemed to be nervous at the moment, so instead he smiled at the other and picked up a sandwich before he unceremoniously shoved it into his mouth. he could already see his newest friend trying to talk him into socializing so he jutted his hand forward awkwardly and swallowed down his sandwich before he spoke a single word. “ link. “
In truth, Ben had no idea why he was here. Polly had asked him to go with her and not wanting to leave one a friendly faces alone, he said yes. He didn’t know the Lodges other than their name. Frankly, he didn’t really know anyone in the town outside of the few regulars who came into the library. In a way, it’s what he needed given his current circumstances. But he still craved some sort of connection in this lonely world. Ben had stationed himself by the snack table, he’d been getting several plates of random finger foods and watched the party unfold before him.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed someone approaching him. “Sorry, I’ll move, probably shouldn’t be blocking the table anyway.” He laughed nervously. “Sorry about that. The mini sandwiches are great by the way.”

after seeing a shiny new forest boy slip through the crowds and outside daphne gasped. talking down the rest of her drink the girl shook her head and followed behind the newly blonde babe. she came up behind him and tilted her head. “link?” she asked with a soft laugh. “there is no way you are going to spend your night out here after i made you look so nice! and this is a premium suit you need people to see how nice it makes you look…” but daphne figured something and sighed. “you… do you like the look?”
___________ his brows furrowed slightly when the redhead found him and called his name. the blonde man turned to his friend and gave her a small but awkward smile before shrugging his shoulders. “ it looks nice “ he stated softly. “ but too tight. “ he added before leaning himself back against the rail with a sigh. “ and too many people in a small space and- “ link paused before he gave his friend the most pitiful and soulful look. “ i am worried about epona. “

link straightened up and held his hands out in front of him with an unsure look about him as the woman stumbled off the stage and questioned him. he wasn’t sure if she was going to fall in front of him or not at this rate but it was more her question that caught him off-guard. “ i can’t sing. “ he lied while azure eyes shifted away from the stranger and scanned the area for someone else he knew. “ you should sit. “ he added on when his gaze returned to the tipsy woman after failing to find a friend.
The moment Tabitha had walked in to the party, she was all ready to let go of the stress of her normal life and just have fun for once. It was rare for her to really let herself go, always the one with her life pulled together tight. It was time for her to let it go, just this once. What could one party really hurt? It’s why she found herself quickly a little too tipsy and giggly, and finishing up her song at the karaoke stand. Another thing she hardly ever did, but she kind of liked it and wanted to go again. Stumbling down from the small stage where the microphone sat, she smiled at the person she was now standing in front of. “Hey do you want to do a duet with me?! Come on, its so fun!”

link was uncomfortable and itchy in this outfit he had allowed his new acquaintance to dress him up in. though the worst part was how restrictive it felt. he was trying his best to reach out to others through this party as much as he hated it. though something about it felt off to him. maybe it was a person here inside the building or it could just be that he didn’t enjoy being shut in among so many people that had his warning bells going off inside his head. whatever the case was he knew he needed air which was why link was outside taking a breath away from the crowd. the reclusive man was already beginning to miss his horse and as he looked up at the sky he sighed in disappointment. the lights from this house seemed to dull the appearance of the stars. “ i hope you’re okay. “ he muttered into the night air to no one in particular. it was probably the the first set of words he had said aloud without being prompted.

swerpeant:
one normal day, was it too much for the gang member to ask for? just one day he can walk through town with a coffee and not wonder if his life was plopped into the twilight zone. pea would have to mark 0 off on the count once again as he came up to a man literally bow and arrow in hand taking on an overpowering amount of ghoulies. there was one thing he’d never turn down and that was the chance to fight. and even though green arrow seemed to hold it on his own he wanted in on taking a ghoulie down. putting his coffee down he went to grab the collar on one of the ghoilies jacket and yank them back. not having a cool weapon like the other he used what he was famous for; an incredible right hook and the reaction to keep swinging.
the man on horseback was doing well, though the help was appreciated when it came to taking down the men that were trying to rush his horse. though epona was strong, he preferred that hands stayed off her if possible. one by one the numbers dwindled with men taken down or running off when they realized that it seemed back up had started coming in. “ WATCH OUT! “ link yelled to the leatherclad man as he let an arrow loose and it whizzed past sweet pea’s head only to sink into the shoulder of a ghoulie that had been ready to swing a nasty looking bat down on him in order to defend his fellow gang member from the serpent and interrupt his attack.

“link…link, link, link…” she said over and over. there was obvious disappointment in her voice. she was not getting far and that stressed her out. but still determined the girl nodded her head. “okay, mr. link. so, you have heard about these fires, what…would you think about it? do you know anyone in riverdale who might be suspect to the crime?” she asked him. would he even know anyone? with a sigh she tried to match his gave but he seemed so lost in his own world. “do you believe the serpents are the criminals as many believe?”
link was still so new to the area that many of her questions couldn’t be answered even if he wanted to. he had no suspicions yet though her question about the serpents being at fault seemed to catch his attention. “ no. “ he stated softly while shaking his head from side to side. “ serpents are good. “ he added. at least she was starting to get a little more out of him. “ why? “

link had managed to catch a rabbit today and with a handful of local plants and edible fungi he had managed to scavenge up for himself he had started cooking up a small stew over a fire. he hadn’t noticed when someone had come close to his camp though because the ravenous man was a little too focused on his hard earned food.

it was good to see the man slow down as she asked her question, her shoes were not made for this. “well, i’m supposed to be the one asking questions, mr. but…yes.” she said with a slight huff, holding her recorder and wondering if it would be useful. but a good reporter would always stay recording. and her friends would want all the voices they could get. useful or not. “two injured and i believe there was three dead.” she held out her recorder to his face. “do you mind stating your name and age? for informational purposes of course. you…don’t know about the fire?” maybe he was interesting in a different way? she was sure everyone knew about that night.
link had an unreadable expression on his face and as he turned to look away from the woman questioning him, it would seem as if he was somewhere else mentally. azure eyes gazed forward when she mentioned the lives lost and he began to absentmindedly brush his fingers over epona’s neck, more for his comfort than hers. when she asked his name though he seemed to snap out of it and turn his attention back to the woman questioning him. “ link. “ he stated, though he didn’t give her anything more for the moment.

—— ▸▸ the forest air was sweet yet crisp. the scents of a fresh rain still lingered . . so close that you could just taste it. this was the perfect setting to practice one of her many skills. with her scarlet red bow in hand . . the cloaked woman made her way to thistlehouse and to the deeper parts of the woods where a few targets hung. she took note at the appearance of them . . they’d seen better days, especially in the middle where she hit without fail. testing herself, she walked back a decent distance before sliding the arrow into place. raising the bow to her perfected stance, she inhaled a breath drawing back just as the quiver met her full lips. letting her fingertips loosen as she closed her eyes. exhaling she let go and let the rest be history. slipping her eyes open she tilted her head taking a look through the soft fog. ❝ bullseye. ❞ she commented before hearing the crunch of leaves behind her. slipping her arrow into the bow again she turned, ready to let another loose. that was until she noted the harmless look on his features. ❝ hark . . state your business. ❞
link raised his hands up slowly in an effort to show the woman that he meant no harm to her. he should have known that someone that good with a weapon would instantly be on guard. especially with a strange man around. link’s lips drew into a thin line when he realized his actions meant he would have to explain himself, which meant talking. it was something he didn’t like to do nor was it something he was good at. “ admired your skill. “ he croaked with hands still raised. “ with the bow. “ he added while motioning towards her crimson weapon though afterwards he would lightly pat at the string of his own bow that crossed his chest which held it securely against his back. “ practice? “
he just hoped the offer didn’t seem too forward, or that his lack in conversational skills didn’t make the woman wish to loose the arrow she had aimed at him.

the horse was a bit odd, but that only made him more interesting and interesting was good for a story. but as he went back to walk forward she huffed. “wait, please! i really need this.” dont follow a random man with a horse into the woods, daph. she could practically hear one of her friends tell her but she was determined. “you know. rviverdale has hundreds of stories and the fire is the biggest right now! what are your thoughts on someone trying to light a fire on a building full of people? random acts of arson or more malicious intentions?” the girl was clicking record on her recorder that hung around her neck.
when it seemed that the woman would not leave him alone and she began to question him about the fire that he had no knowledge of, link stopped for a moment. deep blue eyes studied the woman while his lips drew into a thin line that showed his disapproval of the information she had given. he had heard there was a lot going on in this town but this was the first he had heard of the fire. “did the people survive?” was all the strange man asked her before he brushed his hand over the neck of his agitated horse.
