I have been wanting to make a True Crime blog for some time. Well finally after finally making the choice to either make documentaries or write books about the subject. My friend suggested the best way to start is with a blog. My main blog: https://lumoskillercrispin.tumblr.com

The Ultimate Betrayal.
Julia Pastrana, was believed to be the ugliest woman who ever lived. However, she had many true God given talents. Despite the fame, and fortune she gained in such a short life nothing made her happier than being the wife of her manager Theodore Lent.
Theodore Lent, was a controlling, overbearing, and unknown to Julia a master manipulator.
When they crossed paths for the first time, he knew she was a rare find. She could speak multiple languages, dance, sing, and had features that no matter how hard people tried they couldnât ignore.
Once Theodore became her manager, he took complete control of her money and life. He would not allow her to go out in public for anything. This was beyond difficult for her because once she had the ability to see the world she longed to do it.
Theodore, ever the manipulator, convinced her that he was only trying to protect her. He convinced her she was so special she deserved to be paid before gracing people with her presence. He also convinced her if people saw her in public for free why would they pay to see her.
Julia was not greedy but she needed money to live so she listened. As her fame grew so did others eyes for her. Many wanted to take her for their own. Lent knew he had to make sure that didnât happen.
Luckily the answer fell right into his hand. He noticed that every man that approached Julia for romance she rejected them. It soon became clear, to Theordore, his false claims of wanting the best for her and to protect her made her fall in love with him.
So he played his cards. He asked her to marry him and she happily accepted without a second thought.
On the day of her wedding, it is said she radiated with happiness becauseâŚ
âHe loves me for myself, for myself alone.â
A quote she often used when the few friends she was allowed to have asked her what she saw in him. It is said she smiled with joy every time as she declared he loved her. However, he did not find much favor in the eyes of her friends.
Marriage and kind words were not the only way he convinced her he loved her despite her features. Not long after getting married Julia became pregnant.
It was the happiest time of her life. However, it would end tragically.
And the man she believed loved her would reveal his true nature.

Back in 1988, a 2-year-old girl named Michelle Funk had a terrifying accident. She fell into a creek and remained submerged for a staggering 66 minutes. By the time rescuers reached her, she had no pulse and appeared to have lost all signs of life. Incredibly, it took over three hours, but her body gradually warmed, and once her blood temperature reached 77°F, she made a miraculous recovery, coming back to life against all odds.

The CPR dummy face template is based on a dead 16-year-old girlâs face. Her body was pulled from the River Seine in the 1880s, and her cause of death and identity were never discovered. A mortician was so âentrancedâ by her peaceful expression that he made a plaster mask of her, which became the face of CPR dummies and health training equipment.

When Dr. Darryl Sutorius, a prominent heart surgeon in Cincinnati, Ohio, first met Dante Britteon, he had no idea the trouble he was getting into.
Darryl had been married to another woman for 30 years, with whom he had four kids. While he was a highly-regarded surgeon, being one of the best in his field, he had horrible people skills and a short fuse, making him a nightmare to be around both at work and home. This caused his marriage to become strained, resulting in a divorce.
After the divorce, Darryl struggled with intense loneliness, fearing he would die alone. He took to an online dating service, hoping to find love there, and was matched with Dante Britteon, a petite blonde woman in her 40s who had a degree from UCLA and used to run her own daycare centre. For Darryl, it was love at first sight.Â
Dante had only been married twice in her life and was serious about finding a life partner. Darryl was absolutely smitten with his new girlfriend, pampering her with all the exquisite vacations and designer labels she coveted. Months into dating, they decided to marry. But soon, the marriage started taking a turn for the worse, when Darrylâs daughter began planning her own lavish wedding and requested her fatherâs financial help. Dante took great issue with Darryl spending money on his own kids, resulting in many heated arguments that escalated into death threats from Dante.Â
Darryl, fed up with his wifeâs controlling ways, lawyered up to begin the process of a divorce. Thatâs when he found out her real name was Della Faye Hall. Not Dante. Darryl took it upon himself to call Dellaâs mother, whom she was essentially estranged from, and found out some terrifying details about his wifeâs past. Della lied about being married twice. Shed actually been married 4 times, with many boyfriends in between. She abused all of them, threatening nearly all of them with a gun. She set one boyfriendâs bed on fire while he was asleep, and burned down another boyfriendâs house when he broke up with her. She also never attended UCLA. She hadnât even finished high school. Whoever she dated or married, Della squeezed every penny out of them.Â
Hearing these details about his wife made him fear for his life. He tried to speed up the divorce process and planned to serve his wife with divorce papers. But he never got to do that. Della knew that if she and Darryl divorced, sheâd only be granted around $2000 in alimony payments per month. But if he diedâŚsheâd inherit $900,000.Â
So Della bought a gun and then shot her husband in the head, staging the scene to appear like a suicide.Â
But the forensic evidence came through, pointing toward Darrylâs death being a homicideânot a suicide. Della was arrested and sentenced to 23 years to life in prison, where she died in 2010 at the age of 60.

The Right Trousers (1995)
British comedian Lenny Henry decided that a live action Wallace and Gromit Christmas special (The Right Trousers) would be a great idea. He also decided to play both Wallace and Gromit himself.
He stayed true to the source material but the end result was really disturbing. It received a backlash from viewers for being creepy (even though it was unintentional) and was never re-broadcast.Â

Monetâs Ghost
Youâve definitely heard of Monet, right? In one of the most interesting real ghost sightings weâve ever come across, Monet was apparently snapped at the Cleveland Museum of Art whilst they were holding an exhibit dedicated to the French painter. The director of architecture at the museum was simply taking photographs of the interior and ended up snapping a photo of this rather snazzy looking chap, who bore quite the resemblance to Monet himself â perhaps he was returning to take a look around the exhibit. Of course, there was no one on the balcony at the time the photo was taken.

Mysterious âUglyâ Woman Painting
Keith Webb of Winchester, Hampshire received an unmarked parcel. Upon opening the package, he found this strange painting of an âuglyâ old woman in a white head-scarf. There was no explanation or note that came with the painting.Â
âItâs a painting of such a horrid old crone - my wife wonât have it in the house.â
The couple have no idea who could have sent it to them, or even why. Upon taking it to local auctioneers, he found out that the painting was around 200-300 years old.
Itâs not everyday someone sends you a painting of an ugly old lady without any information. Truly unexplained

Monkey Slug Caterpillars ( Phobetron pithecium)
Monkey Slug Caterpillars are sometimes mistaken for a hairy spider or for moldy leaf litter. This larvae has six hairy âarmsâ that curl out from each side of its body which act as suction cups. While they look creepy, the Mokey Slug Caterpillar is actually harmless and its hairs do not sting.
They end up transforming into the Hag Moth.

Jelangkung
A forbidden Indonesian game that uses hand made puppets to communicate with spirits. The puppets are made from wood and their heads are made from coconut shells. They are then clothed and have faces drawn on them.
The game is played typically (at night) with 3-4 people who hold the dolls up and read a mantra. The puppets have pens placed in their hands and are then asked questions. Supposedly the puppets will move and begin to write down on a piece of paper. The game is forbidden because there is a risk of being possessed by evil spirits.
